WELCOME BABY!

August 11th, 2006

On 8/7/06, my sister called me at 9am to inform me that after an NST test, she was heading to the hospital to be induced. She was 41 weeks pregnant.

She got to the hospital and was set up with the monitors and they saw that she was actually in labor with regular strong contactions. The doctor helped a little bit by breaking Sarah’s water and then she got an epidural. We jumped in the car and headed down to Louisville, a four hour drive, on a good day. While in Indianapolis, Sarah called with an update, 3 centimeters, 80% effaced, not too much of a change. About an hour and a half later she called and said to me “you will get here in time….I’m nine centimeters. ” HOLY CRAP. We were still about 20 miles away from the hospital. We arrived at 4:45pm, the baby was born at 6:02pm. Perfect timing. Here are “some” pictures for you.

Thumbs up to labor! (and epidurals!)
