Works for Me Wednesday

January 31st, 2007

Wfmwheader_4_3This week’s "Works for Me Wednesday" should help those with 2 children in a grocery store!

I like to put one child in the front seat of a grocery cart facing me, then one in the larger part of the cart (the basket), which leaves little room for groceries!  So, what I do, is grab one of the baskets that you can can carry (with the handles) and fill it with items that can easily be crushed, like bread and eggs and I keep the basket underneath the basket of the cart.  It works just like a drawer!  Click here for more WFMW!

Hmmm, that is a good idea. But how do you keep the kid in the back of the buggy from jumping out? That always seems to be my problem. I strap Cate to me and put Emma in the front. Sometimes I’ll let her walk if the store isn’t crowded, usually I keep her confined.

    Works for me, lol.

Super idea, Beth! Last week we came home with a dozen flattened, misshapen bagels after they had been leaned on in the cart. Definitely WFM. Thanks for sharing!!!

Good idea! We have carts that are a car in the front for two kids to sit in, and one in the back like a normal cart. This is great, except the basket is smaller. Not to mention turning corners……… Oh, the things I’ve bumped into!

Brilliant! I’ve been doing the same thing with my kids (one in front and one in the buggy) but have been putting the fragile stuff on either side of my baby in the front. Tres risky. Thanks for the basket idea!
