When is doubt, do a meme.

June 4th, 2007

I have been tagged twice in recent weeks to do a meme, once by Robinznest and the other by Thea, I’ll do them both now!

I don’t have anything to blog about anyway.  I’m fat, and tired and my ankle and knee hurt because I fell when I was drunk, I mean, uh, I fell when I was exercising.  yeah…that’s the ticket.  I was all sweaty and jumping and stretching and everything and then, I, I, I, turned too quickly to jump on my stationary bike and then, then I ran into my bike, yeah, yeah, that’s why my knee and ankle hurt.  I was exercising!!

whew. That was a close one.

Anyway!  ON TO THE MEMES!  I say with one arm stretched up high into the sky!   I’m serious.  My husband looked at me like I had gone mad.

Which is no different than how he looks at me all of the time.

Robin’s meme is about books, so here goes, babe.  Oh, wait.  I have to go find it.

Holla!  Found it!

1. Grab the book closest to you
2. Open it to page 161
3. Find the fifth full sentence
4. Post the text of the sentence to your blog
5. Don’t search around for the coolest book you have, use the one that is really next to you.
6. Tag five people to do this meme.  (I am not going to tag five people.)

The book closest to me is Dieting for Dummies.  I keep it next to my chair to use as a coaster.

The fifth full sentence in the first paragraph is "You can do it!" Seriously.  Well, actually the fifth sentence is "Take Courage!" but it says full sentence and I’m not sure if that is a full sentence.  Maybe Tracey R. could enlighten me on this subject.  She’s an english wizard.

Okay, that was fun.
_______

Now it’s Thea’s turn.

Thea tagged me to name 5 favorite restaurants and why they are my favorite.

No problem.  I love eating.

1.  Redamak’s.  (Beth/mom2vikings, can you back me up, girl??)  This place is THE BOMB.  The best cheeseburgers ON THE PLANET.  ON THE PLANET, I am telling you.  Come over, I’ll buy you one.  Because they’re the best.  Cheeseburgers.  on the planet.  Did I mention that?  Brian and I go there for our anniversary every year.  OMG, it’s so good.  It’s in a great town on the lake in Michigan.  Just about 25 miles from here.  mmmmm…good.

2.  I love Longhorn Steakhouse because they have the best chicken tenders…you guessed it, on the planet.  They make them fresh, when you order them, they’re never frozen and they’re good.

3.  Red Robin.  I like going here because I love their Crispy Chicken Burger.  It is excellent.  Oh and they have unlimited fries, but I have yet to get a second helping, someday I will, though, I just know it!  I’m all about goals.

4.  Qdoba.  oh, how I love Qdoba.  The only problem is that there isn’t a Qdoba ANYWHERE near me, so when I visit my sister in Louisville, it’s all about the fresh mexican at Qdoba.

5.  If I said Taco Bell, would that be bad?  Sad?   Cause I love Taco Bell, I always get a double decker with nacho cheese and a chili cheese burrito.  yo quiero taco bell.    But, no, I’m not going to pick Taco Bell, I’ll just say Olive Garden because they usually have good wine, I always get their cheese ravioli with meat sauce and when I’m done eating there I usually don’t eat again for three to four days.  All good things.

Okay, I tag Musings of a Housewife, Tracey R (even though she refuses to call these memes!), Jodi from Fruit Inspection, Katie Bod and Jodi from blog-o-licious (for the restaurant meme).

Why not say Taco Bell? My husband would. I said McDonald’s when I got tagged. *shrug* Power to the Taco Bell!

What does “MEME” stand for? I love this! On your restaurants, I haven’t heard of them, except for taco bell. I’m from down south. They sound good!

Oh, how I wish I could say I’d eaten at a Redamak’s but I haven’t gotten to that little piece of civilization yet. However, since apparently it’s been made “official”, DaHubby read somewhere that our town in now a “suburb” of Chicago, maybe we’ll get another one to accomodate all these new residents’ fine dining tastes! *wink*

Another thought – that would be a good halfway point for a double date! LOL Or, are we not allowed to eat those cheeseburgers now thanks to being back on the WW wagon? *wink*

Okay, I’m laughing my ass off at being called an English wizard (but I appreciate the compliment!) Do you know I refused to teach 9th grade English because that is when you do the most grammar, and I can’t teach grammar? Seriously. I always wound up with the honors seniors because I could handle the deep philosophical conversations and 10 page thesis driven, researched papers – but don’t ask me to teach the parts of a sentence! I actually can TELL you what is right and what is wrong (usually) but I cannot, for the life of me, tell you WHY. In other words, I know what it is supposed to be, but cannot usually tell you the rule that dictates that. I’m like a grammar idiot savant.

With all of that being said, yes, take courage should technically qualify as a complete sentence. For one, it contains a noun and a verb. For another, it contains a complete, stand alone thought.

I will do the list thingie later today – have to run to a meeting!

Thanks for the tag! I will do it. And thank you for not tagging me on the book one. Cuz the book closest to me would be something work-related and soooo boring.

I have never been to any of those restaurants (except Taco Bell – heh). I will have to look for them next time I’m in the States.

Ah…Redamaks. Now you’ve got me drooling on the keyboard. We’ll have to look for hamburgers on the beach in NC. For some reason, I think the proximity to the beach is key to a good hamburger.

How did you ever narrow down your list of restuarants to 5?? I’ve got a list of like, 50. You know, top 5 fast food, top 5 Mexican, top 5 steakhouses….

Hey, thanks for the tag! I will have to think back to my favorite 5. Since the kids came along, it’s all about Wendy’s and Chick-fil-a. I’ll post my faves later today!
