Works for Me Wednesday

November 20th, 2007

Wfmwsmall_2
I don’t know about you, but colder weather doesn’t just mean mittens and chili in my house.  It means hair that won’t lay down, thanks to static electricity.  Not just me, oh no, but my daughter, too.

Sticks way up high, you should see us after taking a winter hat off, it’s scary stuff, our hair is.

I talked to my hair stylist about this dilemma and she told me to rub my hands on a fabric softener sheet and then pat down our hair.

And it works.

And that makes me so happy.  (if you use the sheet directly on the hair, it will make your hair greasy.  And that is not a good thing.  Unless, you like your hair greasy.)

Great tip! I’ll have to try that. I wonder if it makes your hair smell good, too? Hee-hee!!

You’re right – that works great. I have also tried using Static Guard – that spray stuff which also works wonders. Not sure how flammable it is though.

I just bought a static-cling free bucket hat (like the one in my profile pic but made out of fleece!) from Lands End and I already love it! I take my hat off and my hair just sits there, on my head, like hair should do. Lands End fleece rules. Dryer sheets are good too though. I wonder if I could just go ahead and condition after shampooing with some liquid Downy and achieve the same effect. Would it dye my hair blue?

Great idea! I have also sprayed a little hairspray on my hairbrush or directly on my hair and that helps also.
