Holy Crap, we’re moving.

June 27th, 2008

I’ve been in denial, MAD DENIAL that we are actually closing on our houses on Monday.  We have not packed a thing (packers have been hired, however, we are in charge of packing the bedrooms and the bathrooms), we have no window coverings for our new house, we do not even have an oven.  Honestly, I don’t plan on cooking, Brian doesn’t planning on cooking, unless you plan to come over and cook, then why do we need one?  Just one more thing to clean.  Am I right or am I right?

So, this is where my life of getting up in the morning and staying in my pajamas until eleven, okay twelve, ends and my new life of craziness begins.  I’m okay with that, crazy and I have known each other for a long, long time, we get along great.  Usually.

I leave you with some important bits of information.

First, I blogged over here and I helped babysit Jo-Lynne’s blog while she was away by guest posting on her blog. (her blog was very well behaved, by the way.)

Speaking of guest posting, while I’m moving I have asked some people to guest post on my own blog because we are moving on Tuesday, July 1 and have I mentioned that I won’t have internet until July 10th?  While I plan to stop in and show you pictures of our house, our progress and our new bath tub, you’ll also be seeing some new faces around here next week and maybe the week after that.

One of those faces is my husband.  He’s going to blog for me.  I asked him, he said "no," I said "please, please, please, please", he said "no."  I said "fine, then I won’t cook dinner anymore" he said "you don’t cook dinner" and I said "fine then I won’t be in charge of ordering the pizza anymore" and he said "okay, FINE.  I love pizza."

So, there you go – I have packing to do and pizza to order.

Also, I have winners for the 10 cases of Primo Water!  Just e-mail me your address and Primo will send along your case of water!  Congrats to the winners.

I used to sit in my pajamas until 2:00 p.m. and then have a shower.

My husband surprised me with a new car a couple of weeks ago. A V70 Volvo Wagon. I have waited 7 years for this car, as well as a ’71 beetle he had been working on for the past four years – but couldn’t work on it the last year and 1/2. So I had him sell the bug car – as it wasn’t what I wanted. (’67 cherry red convertible) But anyhow, the new car gave me some new life and maybe your new house give you yours.

    Best of luck!

I just found your blog today — thanks to Musings of a Housewife. I’ve spent the better part of this morning reading your posts since February. My brother was killed in a car accident in Spetember. All I can say that while our losses are different, I relate more than I probably want to admit (especially about feeling alone, Grief Expiration dates, having a good and hard life at the same time, and losing my faith). Thank you for your honesty.

    Good luck with your move!!!

You haven’t started packing yet!? Wow, that takes courage! I was fortunate enough to have a removals company that packed for me (apart from the really personal stuff that is!) and they were very quick – all crockery wrapped in paper and neatly stacked – it was great, I would definitely recommend a company that can do that for you!

I completely understand waiting until close to the end to pack. For some reason I did better under extreme pressure. Good luck getting things done this weekend.

May the Force be with you :)

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new house, especially the tub. You are probably more organized than you think. With everyone pitching in, it should go smoothly…good luck.

I should send my hubby over to your house, he’ll have you packed in no time.
He packed us up so fast when we moved I was mad because I had no idea where anything was until I opened the boxes.

You have lots of friends Beth, if you need help let us know.

ENJOY the craziness…once you get rolling, you won’t be able to stop. It’s so exciting! I can’t wait to see updated pics esp. regarding the outdoors. I can’t wait to see what you do. ROFLMAO about the comment of the oven. Tee hee. Thanks for the laughs today…I need them over here. I’d explain but not sure you’d want to hear even though I know you’d completely understand. It’s been a kleenex day!

You may not need an oven, but you DO need window coverings. Unless your plan to “welcome” yourself to the neighborhood involves giving your neighbors a little show. ‘Na mean? Bow chicka bow wow. ;)
