Better

I think I’m feeling better today. I slept until eleven, thanks to Brian working from home.
I wanted to share some photos with you that I took of a my good friend Misti with her family. They were so much fun to photograph. Her family has such depth, some of the pictures actually make me choke up when I see them.
Tell me what you think, won’t you? When you’re done telling me what you think, I blogged over here. I do such a good job keeping you from housework, don’t I?

The pictures are beautiful!!! You have an awesome talent there girlie!! I think I want you to take some pics of my family!!!

Awesome pictures once again. Weren’t you guys tempted to run the trails while you were there? Good times. When does my family get a turn?

Love the one where they’re blurred in the background!

Nice work. You did a good job of getting your subjects to relax. That’s the key, as far as I’m, concerned.
I’m curious… did the shot of the flower in the foreground and the family blurred happen as an “accident” of auto focus? Not being critical… really just wondering.
The couple in the foreground of the first shot look a little “blue,” as in the color looks too cool. What white balance were you using? Have you considered shooting in RAW? Many programs out there allow you to edit in RAW, which means you can edit white balance.
I struggle with “cool” photos, too… it can be really sunny, and I sometimes end up with a photo that’s too cool. I don’t know how to fix it “in the camera” all the time, but I still try.
Again, nice shots!

I was thinking the same thing about the white balance, I noticed it in your other photos but I think you’re talented so I didn’t want to say anything. it’s better in this one but I can probably guess what kind of camera your using because a certain brand tends to cast blue hues. Shooting in raw is one solution but until you’ve very comfortable editing it can be alot of extra work. even better is to take your white balance of auto and change it according to what kind of light your in. White balance is just what ever your camera reads as white, so you can take a photo of a white paper and use that photo as a meausurement, if you have a decent SLR.
also, with composition, try to watch for people looking like they have things coming out of their heads, like trees or other people. The average person doesn’t notice these things, but you’d be amazed at how it can tighten up a shot.

The pictures are so beautiful. This is my first time visiting your site (I got here via Anissa/Peyton’s page). I especially love the ones of the parents in the background and the child in the front. This would be a little bit harder for my family of 5 bazillion though (2 parents, 3 kids, and 1 on the way).
