Step on a crack

October 9th, 2008

After taking Ariel in for a stupendous dentist appointment this afternoon, we headed to Target.  Racecar wanted to ride in the big part of the cart, which is normal for him, so I lifted him into the cart and a short time later he wanted out again, which is also very typical.  At that point, Ariel wanted into the cart so she could read her book.

As I put her in the cart, I had a sharp pain in my lower back.  It took my breath away and I was nervous because I knew I had to remove her from the cart before too long.  I walked around and waited for my back to feel a little better and it did.  But when I removed her while checking out, I thought I was going to die.  I also made the most ghastly, most embarrassing noise which probably caused one too many nosey customers to look in our direction.  I just smiled and acted like it didn’t feel like someone was trying to saw me in half.  It’s been terrible ever since that moment in Target.  I’m sitting here, I can’t move, it hurts to sneeze or cough.  I’m a giant mess and I feel about 104 years old.

Not only do I have a backache now, but I’m still sick and it’s my precious time of the month where I feel like my uterus is trying to come out of my butt and my head is throbbing thanks to ALL OF THE HORMONES.  Don’t I sound like a joy to be around?  Do you want to bring me cookies and soup and sit by my side?

It’s a good thing Brian is home now because I know what I would if I were alone.

So, I’m just going to sit here and wait for dinner to magically appear, the laundry to magically fold itself and for me to sit and eat chocolate while I magically lose weight.  hmmm…this must be what it feels like to be male.

Oh, I kid (sorta) like you didn’t see that coming.

Oh, crappy! Get a massage! I have had that back pain that you describe before and a massage drastically helped. And drink lotsa beer.

I have had a hell of a week too. I think I am going to gain all my weight back at my weigh-in in the morning.

And it is supposed to snow. I hate winter. And ND.
    :o )

    Beth-

You are a mess my friend. I can totally relate to the back ache, but my is my neck and the back of my head. I went on Tuesday to get a massage and she told me “your a mess.” Takes lots of Advil, rest and don’t worry about all the things that need to be done. It is funny though, today as I was cleaning my house all day, I thought of you and how you never have the time. It is so hard to fit everything in a day we want to. Don’t beat yourself up over it, just do what you can and tomorrow is another day. Take each day as it is and don’t ever take a day for granted or feel like you didn’t get it all done. It will get done at somepoint.

Hope you feel better and I would bring you some cookies and soup sometime when you are sick..lol

You are SOOOO true about the male thing. And when they are sick / hurt…it’s that times a billion. You would think the world was coming to an end.

Take care of yourself. Try a heating pad for your back, it helps me. Oh and don’t lift anything for a while…not easy I know.

You wanna hear about feeling like an old person? Today, I was diagnosed with Trochanteric Bursitis. Sounds fun, doesn’t it?

I’m so sorry you feel bad. What shall we eat in celebration of our oldness?

Even through your pain you find the humor. Just be careful with your back – I have a wonderful chiropractor in your town if you’d like her name. Don’t be freaked out – if you don’t want to be “cracked’ she won’t crack you, but her massage and technique is amazing and I know it would really help you out. Let me know. My MIL and even Amanda has gone to her. In the meantime, take it easy and no more lifting children. Got it?

Back Aches are the WORST! A few years ago hubby and I rolled our SUV and my back has never been the same since. I feel for you. I hope that with some R&R you will be feeling better in no time, and that you’r house will magically clean itself. : ;-)

I understand the mystery back ache. I had one a couple of years ago (at Target none the less) that made me unable to walk for two days. Heat and percoset were all that helped me.

Hope you feel better soon. And if it wasn’t for the 15 hour drive, I would bring you soup and cookies!

Sounds like a pinched nerve…I should know. the same thing happened to me eariler this week. Only it happened to me simply by walking out of a building, minding my own business! I spent the week going to the chiropractor and now I’m a new woman! I highly recommend going to a chiropractor to get “put back together”! Hope you feel better…and get some rest! You deserve it!

My uterus is coming out of my butt….that’s the perfect explanation for what I am dealing with as well. Ever since I had my daughter (3/07) My periods feel the same way. Sometimes, I walk on my tippy toes trying to get away from it! :) I wonder if I tell my doctor that I think my uterus is coming out of my butt, she’ll take me more serious!
I hope you’re feeling better! I visit the chiropractor weekly! It feels so good to be adjusted!
