Today I face a mountain. It’s one I dread, it’s one that hurts, it’s one that I know will soon be over. It may be with tears and with sadness, but it’s a mountain I will climb, I have no choice.
One year ago today, our lives changed forever when we found out I was pregnant. Oh my God, we were so excited.
I knew these milestones would be hard, but I didn’t know they could hurt this much.

We are remembering James and Jake more than ever today. It’s amazing to me how much we can dread a mountain and its immenseness and having to climb it, but mountains are also often something that can be breathtaking, the subject of photos and paintings, a place where we make memories and accomplishments, and something we love to behold.
