CURSE CURSE CURSE CURSE CURSE CURSE

November 13th, 2008

An actual email sent to my husband regarding my BRAND NEW LAPTOP:

Sent: Thursday, November 13, 2008 9:39 AM
From: Beth Fletcher
Subject: Re:
I just typed up the biggest, most detailed email of my LIFETIME to my clients.  I can’t even stress to you the amount of time and effort and thought that went into it and guess what?
OUT OF NOWHERE, a little mother %^&*$#@ box comes up that says “windows live mail is not responding and needs to close.”  Of course, I did not say okay, I tried to copy the email, but anytime I clicked on it, it went back to that dialog box screen and then, before my eyes.  It was gone.
I COULD CRY.  The level of frustration I am feeling is record breaking.  I don’t have time for this bull @#!$.  I swear to you, I almost threw it against the wall, but didn’t because I didn’t want to mess up the paint.
I tried to do a screen shot of the email, but I’m not sure I did it correctly.  How do you take screen shots?  Can we get a refund?  I’m so &*#@!$% serious I can’t see straight.  I’m blogging about it now.  POOR $#@!%&* DELL.  STUPID MOTHER $#@!%&*S.
_____________________
And if this doesn’t quite express my frustration, I wrote about it further here.
Apparently, I have anger issues.  Who knew?
(oh please let one of these be in my future)

    Oh I hate that!!

To do a screen shot you push the Prnt Scrn button, then I go to PSE and open a new blank document and paste it on there.

I have been eyeing the MacBook Pro too, but I doubt I will be getting one any time in the near future since I have had my Dell for only a little over a year.

I just got a Dell laptop (pink, naturally), and it does stuff like that ALL the time. I thought it was just me, but apparently, it’s Dell. Wonderful! It also will not restart EVER, forcing me to forcibly shut it down. I love the pink color, but I think this’ll definitely be my last Dell, too.

I hope Santa brings you the MacBook Pro! My sister is in advertising and loves her Pro!

I hate when that happens. Do you know anyone that works for Dell? I know one of their rivals has a place when employees can file complaints for customers they know. Thank goodness you stopped before you ruined the paint… next time remember the floors are going to be repaired soon so it won’t hurt to throw it on the floor and stomp on it over and over. Or maybe the PC meets the same plight as the Halloween candy ;)

I hate my Dell laptop also, and complain about it bitterly, right up until my husband says pointedly “well, maybe you should ask for your money back, oh wait, it was FREE” (I got it for free from a computer upgrade from the law firm).

Still…I wish I had a Mac. Sadly, I will never have one since, again, the husband swears up and down and all around that the Mac is inferior technology, and then he pulls the “Director of Technology” card and how he’s the expert and he makes the executive decisions on technology in our house.

Which, considering I make the executive decisions in every. single. other. arena, I can’t really complain.

    But you know I will.

I feel your pain . . . just wanted to let you know, if you want to save a “copy” of what is on the screen (only what you can see, you can’t scroll up or down), hit the ‘prt sc’ (Print Screen) button. Then go into Paint (Start,Accessories, Paint) and choose Paste (ctrl-V). It will paste what was on your screen and you can print it out at that point. In your case, you would have to retype the text but AT LEAST you would have a copy of what you had lost! This is great for when you get error messages, etc. that you don’t feel like writing out – just PrintScreen button, Paint program, and paste! Hope that I helped!

BTW, love your posts (and family)! Your boys are always in my thoughts!

All this hating on Dell, I have a Dell laptop and love it. The problems you are having are probably not hardware but software issues I’m sure since you said Windows. It’s because of problems like yours that we use Linux , O/S of the future, Windows can go suck it. When we first got the Dell laptop it was loaded down with bloated Windows crap and it sucked so hard, my husband wiped the O/S and installed a Linux operating system and it’s the speediest computer I have ever used, I’m shocked when I use other peoples systems and they are so slow and bloated. My husband is a computer genius though so I am lucky I will never suffer from bad computer issues. You have to find something you like and if it’s Mac then so be it, we just don’t like to use anything that limits functionality or is proprietary like Mac and Windows.

Ok, so I’m catching up after a week of being off line basically (thanks, Vista!) and I mention to my Mac hubby that you are jumping on the Mac bandwagon, and that you were wondering who your guy would be, since you know, Brian “doesn’t do Mac”. Hubs response, “If she gets a Mac, she won’t need a guy.”

(I was all, “Shut the Hell Up or buy ME a Friggin’ Mac….”)
