Ask me
Posted by: | CommentsI am around except I am having a very difficult time posting here. I do not have a lot of time and I’m feeling very down. Which is confusing to me because we are having a great time with my family, all of us (about 25 people) are all staying in the same house. I just don’t feel like me. I’m pretty sure it’s because the last time we were here, I was pregnant with twins, we had announced it to my family while in this house, there are so many great memories here. And now?
Every piece of this house is a reminder of that time.
Fortunately there is lots of alcohol to drink and many opportunities for naps, so it will be fine. I will be fine. (by the way, the best drink ever is creme soda with vanilla vodka…so delicious, you are welcome.)
So, I’m wondering if you want to help me? How about we take this time for you to ask me something, anything, and I can answer your questions all this week while I’m away. Deal?
Whatever you want to know, now is the time to ask.
This Christmas
Posted by: | CommentsI’m not going to lie to you. I have had some difficult moments during these past few days getting ready for Christmas; moments of disbelief, moments of pain, moments of intense prayer.
I could go on and on with you about how much we wish James and Jake were celebrating their first Christmas with us this year, or how beautiful (and beautifully complicated) or family of six would have been in our Christmas photo.
But instead…I just want to remember the memories. The wonderful, specific memories of telling family our (beyond) exciting news that we were expecting twins. We waited until the holidays to tell everyone and it was totally worth the wait. The laughter, the tears, the amazement, it was all just so special.
I am grateful for those moments. Even though they bring me sadness, they also bring me joy.
And I love me some joy.
We have had some great times so far this holiday season. Ariel and Racecar LOVE Christmas, having children in the house just make things more magical, doesn’t it?
Last week was Racecar’s Christmas program, check him out in the middle singing:

And a beautiful scene at the program:

My two angels here on earth:

On Sunday we constructed our first Gingerbread house. I had never done one before. Thank goodness for kits. We had SO much fun!

Ariel drinking her hot cocoa, dressed and ready for some gingerbread house making!
This weekend we let the kids watch Elf for the first time. Needless to say, they loved it and we watched it three times in a 24 hour period. Also needless to say? That I fell asleep moments after this picture was taken.

And a trip to see Santa last night:
Whew. I’m wiped out just looking at these pictures.
Already, this season, we’ve had a great Christmas and the day hasn’t even arrived, yet.
I wish you all a memorable holiday, filled with JOY, LAUGHTER, HUGS and LOVE. Lots and lots of love.
Merry Christmas.
I’m here!
Posted by: | CommentsI’m around! How are you?
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted but it’s only because we have been doing all sorts of holiday good stuff like shopping.
and shopping.
and then we went shopping again.
And now it’s time to wrap and bake and plan and shovel the driveway because the SNOW WILL NEVER END. The good news is that I’ll be back later today, the bad news is that it will pretty much just be pictures because I’m too tired to use words.
But that’s okay, right? I really hope you are all enjoying this crazy, beautiful season. I know we are.
Frozen, but so warm
Posted by: | CommentsThe best part of ice storms?
The pictures and the day filled with Christmas music, pajamas and cookies.
This is the most delicious ice storm ever.

Something
Posted by: | CommentsNothing of interest has been happening around here, just casual living and often thinking and occasionally laughing and sometimes drinking and hopefully sleeping and making cookies. And reflecting, too.
While eating cookies.
Early last week, my friend, Shannon, sent me the most amazing gerbera daisies. (my favorite flower) This bunch was truly stunning. The morning after I received them, I walked into my kitchen and the sun was shining through the window on these beauties. It was amazing.
I grabbed my camera and starting capturing their perfection.
These shots are SOOC. (straight out of camera, totally unedited, just raw, perfect beauty.)

Don’t you feel like you can reach out and touch them?
