This is going to be really difficult, this reliving my phone conversation with Patrick Dempsey because OH MY GOD it was better than I ever expected.

And I don’t mean to make you jealous or anything, in fact, the reason I didn’t tell you about the call sooner than last night was because I felt like I was showing off and I did not want to do that.  But now, you want specifics, right?

cuz I got’em.

The call was incredible.  Patrick talked about his new fragrance and his passion and he said saucy things like “Beth is so pretty and she smells good.”  no. wait.

That’s not true.

Seriously, though, he just talked, kinda like we were all at the same dinner table.  (how mcdreamy would that be?)  It was very easy, breezy, very “we do this all of the time” type of thing except we don’t and neither does he.

Then they opened up the call for questions and Stephanie went first and she sounded all sweet and nice.  And after a few more minutes and questions they said “next we have a question from Beth Flsdjfdljf.”  And I said “Hi, My name is Beth Flsdjfdljf and my blog is called I Should Be Folding Laundry.”

And then he laughed.  At the name of my blog.

Now it’s a very little known secret that a year after naming my blog I wanted to rename my blog because OHMYGOD IT’S SO LONG.  I mean, who would want to type out such a long URL?  Yes, I am that lazy.  But, I didn’t change the name, obviously, because it was always true.  I should ALWAYS be folding laundry.  So, I kept it and I started to love it.

And today?  After PATRICK DEMPSEY LAUGHED at the name of my blog?  I vowed to name my next child “I Should Be Folding Laundry.”  That’s how much I loved the name of it.  And then, he did something completely unexpected.

He asked ME a question.  Which he had not done to anybody.

He said “do you do a lot of laundry.”

And I sat there, like stunned, like “OHMYGODWHATISGOINGONWHOAREYOUIMDYING.”  I replied “no, but I should be.”

And then we sat there, like the awkward silence before a kiss and I didn’t know what to do, do I throw up?  or pee my pants?  Can’t decide.  I know!  HOW ‘BOUT BOTH!  But, instead, I jumped into my question, which was pre-written out.

And then he answered my question and I honestly have NO IDEA what he said because I was on the phone with Patrick Dempsey.  I mean, seriously, people, did you really expect me to be able to listen?  Because I couldn’t, it’s not my fault.  He’s just so hot.  And poetic.  He is, he’s poetic.

Here was my question because I know you are wondering “was there a certain part of the fragrance creating process that was a must have for you?  The shape of the bottle?  The way you wanted the scent to make you feel?  Anything that was a Patrick “must-have?”

So, he answered my question and then he did something else completely unexpected.

He asked me another question.  He asked me about my passions.  “what are you passionate about?”

And then I died.

And then he asked me ANOTHER QUESTION, he asked me if I liked the fragrance and then OHMYGOD I think I died twice.

Friends, I’m happy to tell you that I REALLY do love the fragrance, it’s so different, it’s subtle and unique, it’s lavender and pitchouli, mixed with pepper and awesomeness.  It’s wonderful.  So, I didn’t have to lie to him when PATRICK DEMSPEY ASKED ME WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT HIS FRAGRANCE.

Picture me: DEAD.  Cause I was.

and then?  HE ASKED ME ANOTHER QUESTION.  WE WERE CONVERSATING and I’m not going to lie to you, I may have been a little bit turned on (IT’S NOT MY FAULT, I’M HUMAN.) because his voice is so amazing and so damn sexy, I mean, for real.

This time he asked me about the packaging.  I answered him but for all I know I could have said “I like tacos” in response, I have no idea what I said.

And then he wished me a happy holiday.

So, let’s recap:

Patrick talked.

I died.

PERFECTION.

I think the call, which was recorded, will be available for us to listen to at some point, I’m just not sure when.
