Long time, no photos

January 19th, 2009

On Sunday, Christy and I were finally able to head outside with the kids and then we headed out by ourselves for a frigid photo shoot.  Since Christy’s arrival from Texas, the weather has been freakishly, stupid cold, so cold that Christy’s son could not play in the snow.  Which was NOT easy to explain to a child that only wanted to play in the damn snow.  Poor boy.

Here are a few shots from playing outdoors with the little ones.  More to come later of our frigid photo shoot.  It was really cold, despite being 40 degrees warmer than it was Thursday night, it was only 20 degrees today.  I don’t plan to spend that much time outside again in those temperature until the year two thousand never.

Wow, that’s some SNOW! I sort of miss it in a but-glad-I-don’t-have-to-shovel-or-drive-in-it kind of way. The smiles are the best though….I would almost move up there just to have you constantly taking pictures of my kids!

Gosh, your pictures speak to me. i can literally *taste* the snow on that glove, having done that so any times as a child myself (heck, who’m I kidding, as an adult, too). I miss snow. So much.

I like that you did some in B/W, I might try it sometime. Now that it is not minus 30 degrees with the windchill, the kids can go play outside.

Your photos are clear and vibrant and incredibly beautiful, and they capture the moments that would otherwise pass unannounced… but what I REALLY love are the shadows. The deck rails, the outstretched arm, two bodies x two more in shadow, the sled… each shadow brings each photo to new height and dimension… I LOVE how you captured life and then some!

SNOW, SNOW…and MORE SNOW! I know exactly what you’re going through cause we’ve been dumped on, too! I haven’t seen this much snow in Michigan in a long time! It’s crazy! It makes great photos though, doesn’t it! It’s also a great way to spend time with your kids. We’ve certainly had a blast.
