Did you ever see the movie Breakin’ with Ozone and Kelly and Turbo? It was awesome.
Well, not really awesome.
It’s a classic.
No, no it’s not.
Anyway. Racecar has pneumonia which is so terrible but he had a big round of antibiotics earlier today and I can tell that he’s already feeling better. The poor child has been coughing all night long for the past three nights, so we are hoping that he’ll get some much needed relief AND SLEEP starting tonight.
And hey, if I can catch up on some sleep tonight, too, well, that would be much appreciated because I.AM.SO.TIRED.
We have big plans this weekend (with the doctor’s approval) so I won’t be writing after tonight until Sunday or maybe Monday. A nice, big break is in order.
In the meantime, can you guys do me a favor? I’ll still have my iPhone with me during this break of mine, so I’d love to learn something about you. Can you tell me something like what your favorite kind of food is or what you’d love to do if money were no object? or tell me this: if you could do anything professionally right now, what would it be? Maybe just tell me your favorite color or your favorite song?
OR…tell me who you think is going to be voted off of next week’s Idol. You can even tell me who you can’t stand.
And if you’ve never commented before, this is a great time for your first time, don’t you think?
I can’t wait to hear from you.

Hope RaceCar feels better soon and have a wonderful weekend.
“If you could do anything professionally right now, what would it be?” Since my job is a little iffy right now because there are large layoffs rumored, I’ve been asking myself this question a lot. As soon as I have the answer I’ll let you know.
How is the photography going?
I hope your son feels better soon and that no one else gets sick. Enjoy your weekend! Maybe you will get a chance to go to my favorite restaurant- Cheesecake factory. Yummy!( Can you believe I have never had their cheesecake- I have always been too stuffed after eating their meals LOL) Funny that my favorite food is mexican but CF is not mexican.
~
One food I am craving right now is corn on the cob with mayonaise and chili powder and a parmasean type cheese on it. Yummy. It sounds gross- but it is really good!
Have a great weekend! I’ll be doing 2 weeks worth of laundry!
if money were no object: i would buy an old farmhouse from the early 1800s and raise llamas and goats and sheep, and keep every stray dog that showed up at my doorstep! i have absolutely no idea how i would manage it, because i have never done anything “farmy” in my life, but i would sell the goat’s milk and things i could make with goat’s milk (ummm, after i figured out how to milk the goats…), and i would sell the yarn made from the llamas and the sheep (you guessed, after i figured out how to actually get the fleece off the little buggers and spun out). this was fun! hope you enjoy everyone’s comments!
If money were no object, I would love to go to Italy and see all the sights. Then I’d come back home, and buy a great old house and fix it up, and buy new matching furniture for every room.
And then I’d eat some cheesecake. Yummers.
My favorite food is bacon.
I take up space in the comments a lot, so of course I’ll take you up on this invite! My favorite food is anything authentically Tex Mex and if I could get paid to do what I love, I would love to be a published writer. I love photography but not really portraiture (I just don’t have a good eye for that) – I more into photojournalism type stuff.
Have a GREAT BREAK. Enjoy the time off.
I don’t think I’ve commented before, so here goes…
Fav Food: probably pizza – I could eat it for days… ham, mushrooms, and LOTS of cheese!
Money: move my family “home” and live down the road from my parents
Professionally: work from home as administrative support and/or be a professional (paid) writer/author
Fav Color: blue
Fav Song: alltime – Colors of the Rainbow (Avalon)… current – How Great is our God
American Idol: Anoop (although I love his personality, he can’t win the whole thing) is probably next to go… or Megan (I like her “quirkyness”, but she won’t win, either)… LOVE Danny, Adam, and Allison!!
i have been reading your blog for awhile. i found it off of stephanie’s. love both of your blogs!! so….i think this is my first comment ? not sure.
if i could do anything professionally it would be a nurse midwife! i plan to go back to school after my kids are all in school so i can obtain my dream of assisting momma’s during the most life changing event of their life!!
have a good weekend
My favorite food is mushrooms – when I’m reading a menu, I’m looking for anything ‘smothered in mushrooms.’
If money were no object I would take my kids every summer someplace they’ve never been – Europe, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, etc.
By the way, I LOVED Breakin’ I even have a couple songs from it on my ipod!
If money were no object, I wouldn’t do anything drastic. I would just like to live my life without worrying about finances. Like this morning, when the vet told me my sweet, wonderful 13 year old dog needs $400 worth of surgury at the same time the roofer said we need a $400 repair, I still would have said yes to both, I just wouldn’t have worried about the financial part of it. Oh, and I’d pay for my 3 kids college education.
I am not sure and I can’t remember if you ever talked about this site…http://namesinthesand.blogspot.com/
I thought of you, James and Jake when I found it tonight.
What an amazing thing this mother is doing.
First of all Breakin’ is a classic! HAve you seen Breakin’ 2? Just as classic as the first!
I am a huge American Idol addict so I think the next person voted off will be Megan but the judges will save her! FOr some reason I really like Anoop. Don’t ask me why? He is not the best singer ans I dont think he will win but I like him. I just do
I also love Allyson…the red haired 16 year old. SHe rocks!
hope you are enjoying your break. One of my girls has pneumonia right now as well. I am looking forward to never hearing the nebulizer again!
Just stoppin in to say Yes, I’ve seen Breakin’. I probably watched that movie 100 times. It was one of my favorites when I was younger. I liked Breakin 2, too.
I hope Racecar is better. I’ve missed him.
If money were no object, I would pack up all 12 of us and head to the happiest place on earth. It is my dream to take us all to Disney World for a big family trip.
I hope your weekend is everything you were hoping for!
I’d love to be in a cupcake/cake business.. nothing huge and fancy, just something out of my home.
If money were no object, I’d go on a cruise again!
Have a great weekend.
I hope you’re having a beautiful weekend! The weather here has just been gorgeous this weekend – a little chilly, but the sun is shining, so that’s a step in the right direction. I hope you’re getting some nice days too!
I’m having a heck of a time coming up with a favorite food. I don’t discriminate.
If money were no object, I’d do all the responsible things…Pay off my house, do some upgrades around here, buy a new car…And then I’d do some crazy extravagant things…Like go shopping on a daily basis. For anything I could thing of…clothes, house goods, groceries, electronics. I’m sure I could come up with something everyday that I needed. Oh, and I’d make charitable donations on a regular basis. Both monetary donations and I’d donate all the “stuff” that I’d be replacing.
If I could have any career, I’m not sure what I’d do. I’ve recently been thinking that I would love to go to culinary school and own my own restaurant. It would be a rustic, home sweet home, type place. We’d serve comfort foods and have a family atmosphere. I’ve been told that the culinary world isn’t a very rewarding one, though, from someone who knows firsthand. So, maybe I’d go to beauty school and open my own shop. Ideally, I’d like to own my own business one day. One that’s focused on the service and people. One where people feel that they’re welcome and they’ve always got a friend. Like Cheers!
And just something random that I’d like to share…I find you and your photography inspiring. I love the challenges that you’ve been doing, and while I haven’t yet made any submissions, I’m constantly thinking about it. I’ve been looking at things around me and wondering how I could photograph it. It’s definitely a step in the right direction.
Oh…And I like to talk…a lot.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Salmon sashimi, hands down. I eat it for lunch at work almost every day. I’m in a salmon rut!
My favorite color is pink. I love most colors of pink but I’m kinda more on the magenta side than baby pink. Think Barbie Pink, that’s my color!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I am currently fighting the urge to finish off the sleeve of thin mints over on the dining room table.
Both of my boys are sick right now and the hubby is deployed for 6 months, so I feel very alone.
If money were no object and McDaddy (hubby) was home, me and my 3 fellas would take off to some beautiful place like Fiji or perhaps Turks and Caicos (because I just like saying that).
As far as American Idol, my bets are on Danny and Kris and Lil. I so love that show and my beloved Simon.
My 6 year old had big plans for Spring Break this week but I’m afraid the fever he is carrying might put a damper on our plans. Man, I hate it when my kids are sick. It just stinks.
Okay, I guess I’m rambling. Did I mention I was gifted in the art of conversation?
ok…a little about me. I’m a sahm homeschooling a 18 year old senior boy/young man and a 5 year old Pre-K/Kindergarten boy. Both my boys LOVE ice hockey, so that means I do too! If money were no object I would love to adopt children who have had a pathetic life, orphans, abused, whatever. I love devoting my time and energy (what little I really have) into my kids and would love to make sure others have the same kinds of opportunities to become the adults God would have them be. As for something for me– I would love to travel across the US and see new and unusual stuff, and of course go to Hawaii and spend a couple of weeks hiking, biking, swimming, etc.
Hope all this doesn’t bore you to death! Have a wonderful vacation!
Aw, I hope Racecar is feeling better!
Let’s see, my favorite kind of food…does chocolate count? I could eat chocolate all day long. If money were no object I would take a nice caribbean cruis with my husband. Or without him! (J/K I totally need a body guard so that I don’t go missing at sea or something.) If I could do anything professionally I would become a nurse, more specifically a L&D nurse. My favorite color is a toss up depending on the day. I would say my top four are pink, blue, purple and green.
OK, enough about me. I hope you had a great weekend!!
hmmmm let me think…… My favorite food is Italian, find me a place around here the serves REAL Italian pizza ( and pasta) like they make in Italy and I will love you FOREVER.
My favorite color is purple – my entire living room and dining room is two shades of purple.
I sleep with one pillow when the husband is home and two when he’s not.
The husband was home from Arkansas with past weekend and we had an AMAZING time, but that may be TMI lol
I wear high heals 90 % of the time because I’m short on one end lol
I got a new “purse” camera over the weekend and I’m in love with it right now.
I was so spoiled with eating chocolate in Europe, that I place an order for it every 3 weeks just to get my “fix”.
I love a good bottle of wine on the weekends.
That’s enough about me, hope your weekend was wonderful.
well i’m a little late in posting my comment but here we go…
Hm. My favorite kind of food is hard to pick. Because I really like my food. Today I had a hot roast beef sandwich. And that’s because I ate all the leftover spaghetti. I could eat it everyday and not get tired of it. But I really like all kinds of food. Except spicy food…I’m not a spicy person.
If money were no object…I would be a stay at home mom. I would just spend time with my babies and scrapbook and focus on my hobbies. If it weren’t for my repeat miscarriages I would probably even try to have more kids. I love the baby stage. But…being a SAHM doesn’t really pay well.
I know you said “or” but I’m kinda answering “and” all these questions.
Professionally…I would love to be a forensic psychologist. I would be Dr. Candi. Well…maybe Dr. Candace…it sounds more professional. But I would love to study people and be an expert witness and all the things that go along with the job. It’s just really interesting to me and I would love it. But considering I’m not going to even finish my BGS until December 2010, I’m getting a late start and feel discouraged by that.
I like a lot of colors. And I have a lot of favorite songs. It usually depends on what is going on in my life…I tend to like songs that reflect certain aspects or memories of my life.
Whew. There’s some snippets about me. I hope you had a good break.
Amazing, heartbreaking, educating post. Thank you for sharing this. My BFF had a late miscarriage several months ago, and I was so worried that I wasn’t saying or doing the right things. “I’m sorry” just doesn’t seem like enough, and bringing meals or taking her other child for a playdate didn’t seem like a BIG enough gesture either. It’s comforting to know that even the littlest efforts of comfort or sympathy mean a lot. And that it is okay to bring up that sweet little lost soul. I sometimes was afraid to talk about it in the moments she seemed like she was holding it together. Didn’t want to “set her off” when I knew it was so hard for her to get to a functioning place to begin with. I guess she is probably always thinking of that baby somewhere in her mind, so me mentioning it isn’t likely to bring fresh hurt? Anyway, I AM sorry for your loss. And I appreciate you sharing pieces of it with us, so that through us, our loved ones might be helped.
Ummm… sorry but somehow I seem to have left this comment on the wrong post? It should have been in reply to “On Grief” as I’m sure you guessed…. Thanks.
