I have nothing to write about. No funny stories. No sad stories. No celebrity stories. I have nothing to write about.
(I know I said that twice in one sentence, which just proves that I have nothing to write about.)
This past weekend was extremely relaxing. My girls came over Friday night and we watched Zach & Miri make a Porno (loved it). We ate mozzarella bites and pizza rolls and had ourselves a good old time. On Saturday I stayed in my pajamas ALL DAY LONG. It was pure bliss. It helped that I had cleaned my house the day before, it also helped that it rained all day long on Saturday.
Yesterday was much more productive, Brian and I updated my photography blog (GO LOOK, GO LOOK!), we visited Brian’s parents and then I cleaned and did laundry.
Today, I’m exhausted and my brain is apparently on vacation and where most people would just not blog at all, I can hear my sister saying how annoying it is to go to a blog that hasn’t been updated, so all I have for you are pictures.
That’s okay, right?
Here’s my little Racecar. He loves to play Indiana Jones on the Wii and he loves to sniff people like he’s a dog. It’s very strange, but also pretty cute.

Last week we were able to play outside, it was very strange since we’ve been living in the arctic for the past 10 months (or so.) And then the craziest thing happened…I heard a bird chirp. It was beautiful.

Here’s Ariel. She loves to play with me which is nice and everything except that she doesn’t care what I’m doing exactly when she wants me to play with her. I could be in the middle of a call and she’ll talk to me like she works at Walgreens and I’m the customer and she’ll get impatient if I don’t tell her that I’m there to pick up my prescription. It makes no difference that there is a phone on my ear.
It can get pretty annoying.

She’s left handed, just like her Mom.

Last week I went to the fire station with Racecar’s class. It was fun.

Randy was there.

That’s all I’ve got.
And yes, I realize that is very, very sad.

I am feeling that way today too. I just keep waiting for something to happen that might be blog worthy, lol!
I don’t know how you got the colors the way you did in the picture of Ariel looking at you, but that photograph is amazing!
Nothing isn’t necessarily a bad thing
love the pics Beth, especially the one of your daughter in b&w! Thanks for sharing! Have a good afternoon!
I love this type of post! Really! I love seeing pictures of your kids and just hearing about what’s going on in your life.. and who is this sister you’re talking about?? Huh?? Lori?? Sarah?? Certainly not me, I would never say such a thing!!!!!
I don’t know if this will make you feel good or bad… but… the kids look SO GROWN UP in these photos!
Lovely photos!!
I am loving the new site! I can’t wait until it gets warm so we can do another photo session.
Were there any hot firemen? My polling place is at the fire station, and I’m always disappointed by the lack of hot firemen milling about.
Love the pictures of your kids, as always.
Anytime you let us see your beautiful kids is something. Wasn’t the fire station fun? Why didn’t you slide down the pole? Every other freakin mom did!
The picture of Ariel drawing at the table has to be my favorite of her! Love the hat.
This is very far from sad (well, except maybe that sad last picture but OH MY those first two photos of Ariel and Racecar! LOVER THEM!)
PS I love this post.
The pictures of Ariel is gorgeous!! I am a lefty too, just like my mom.
“Nothing” usually leads to beautiful pics of your beautiful kids so I’ll take “Nothing” any day of the week.
I see absolutely nothing sad about this. Life is what happens in the empty spaces, in the white space, when we aren’t overwhelmed with planning.
I have not heard of this movie (I take it it’s a movie?) of which you speak!! The title sounds crazy!
Hey, I understand about having nothin’ to blog about. I rarely blog anymore for this reason. You have more pressure on you with your popular site and all…oh, the pressure. Thankfully you’re such an excellent writer…you could write about nachos, bug bites, muffin tops, jeans…and make it interesting. Oh wait, you have written about these things and could even re-visit and you’d still make them entertaining
I LOVE that first picture of Racecar. It seriously reminds me of a basset hound or, more specifically, our sweet beagle Jane who passed. Those scrunched up eyes…all he needs is floppy ears. Too cute!!
Isn’t the cleaning lady coming anymore? Sounded like that was really going well and saving you some time.
Hey, are you still using Picasa to edit your photos? It’s been giving me a terrible time for about a month (I use the free version) and I’m going nuts without it. I probably need to bite the bullet and just buy an editing program.
Oh my gosh!!! My 3 year old is a sniffer! When I’m cooking, she’ll walk around the counter and put her nose up in the air and sniff like a dog. And anytime someone gets out of the shower, she immediately runs to them and says “Wait! I gotta smell you!!”
One time, my little weirdo spent an entire shopping trip smelling a box of frozen shrimp.
I think you had plenty to write about there! I love the random facts about your kiddos, that your sweet girl is a lefty, and racecar “sniffs people like a dog” LOL! With those great pictures, this post was an enjoyable read!
Hey girl! Sometimes there is just nothin’ – and that’s normal and fine and to be expected. The photography blog looks GREAT! Lovin’ the Racecar and Ariel shots!
Randy is a little disturbing
Didn’t you just LOVE being outside. I am remembering those two afternoons fondly…
Glad you liked Zach & Miri, that movie cracked me up.
And there’s no mistaking that Racecar is your child.
Hope you hear even more birds chirping soon… : )
Wow, Beth.
I LOVE your photography. I have a really nice camera (Sony Alpha something-or-other) and I have visions of doing amateur photography in my spare time – mostly portraits and photo journalism type stuff, but I never know where to start. I have TONS of photos of my cats, but that’s about all I can ever come up with. I have a friend who’s getting married in August and I suggested to her that I would love to take her engagement photos. So, we’ll see how that goes. I will continue to be an avid reader!!!
Love the photos of your precious kids!! Gosh they are so darned cute!!
And as for Racecar, well I must admit that my sister and I caused a great deal of stress for our parents right around the same age that he is. Everytime a guest came over to our house, we would revert to our alter puppy egos and act like dogs the entire time the company was at our house. We would eat our food off of bowls on the floor, sniff legs and even pretend to pee on that leg. And, because it was all about reaction then (okay … still would be who am I to kid?), we would start to bark and howl when in a grocery store and get down on all fours to chase each other. And that Beth, is why there is only my sister and myself and no other siblings. We apparently tortured my mother who was ultra anal back then so these antics stressed her out beyond belief. Probably another reason why she is a party gal when given the chance now.
Great photos of your children! I wish I had an ounce of your talent!
That first picture of your daughter is beautiful!!!
With pictures like that you are no longer allowed to use the words amateur and photographer in the same sentence. (I really hope I spelled that right!). Cute kiddos. =)
