Last week’s challenge was reflection. How did you do?
I have to say that as much as I love reflection, I did not do as well as I would have liked. I tried to think “out of the box,” but my mind kept screaming water! water! water! But that’s okay. I very much enjoy the shots I do have and that’s all that matters.
On Saturday, the kids and I went for a nice long walk at a nature preserve. Taking those pictures with my kids during that length of time just felts so good. It’s great therapy. I try to bring my camera wherever I go. What about you?
Here are my two shots:

I know this shot does not scream reflection, but I drive by this barn every day and every day I watch the reflection grow and shrink, depending on the water level in the ditch in front. This particular day it was quite low. At first I was disappointed, but then I thought that it was pretty cool. This shot is my favorite.
This next one I do like a lot because these trees are just beautiful, even though they are bare. I can’t wait for the branches to not be bare any longer.

Now it’s your turn to share your reflection shots from this week. I can’t wait to see the creativity flowing from blog to blog!
Just a few important details: please make sure you are linking directly to your specific You Capture post in Mr. Linky (and not just your site, for instructions, go here) and please make sure you are linking back to this challenge in your post.

Next week’s challenge: Spring. It’s going to be so interesting to see all of the different signs of spring across the country. Get outside and take some pictures! Go forth and capture!

I love these! Especially that barn. I wanted to do water, too, but never had a moment during daylight that I didn’t have all my kids with me and it just wasn’t going to happen.
Steph
I love the barn too. Great shot. It will be fun to look for signs of spring.
I LOVE the You Caputer you started, thanks! Also, my pictures aren’t actually on my link yet because they are on the computer in the nusery/office SO as soon as the baby wakes up I’ll hope on and get those pictures added in-should be in a few minutes.
I love these, especially the second one. I also can’t wait for the trees to not be bare.
I really tried to do water, especially with spending two days at a water park, but apparently water park water doesn’t really reflect. Who knew?
Funny…my mind screamed mirror! mirror! mirror! I guess I wasn’t thinking out of the box. I can’t tell you how many photos I have of my son in the mirror…brushing his teeth…making funny faces…etc… Alas, I ended up with water, and not my son.
Your photos are beautiful. The landscape is so different from things I see in my area of the globe. Thanks again for your challenge! It keeps me motivated!
I love the tree shot. And I know that barn
I love the trees! Very cool.
Great photos! This is my first week participating, and I wanted to say thank you for doing You Capture!
Love the barn shot, I think you were right to use that. Spring. Thanks, that is wide open– I have all sorts of ideas
I love your photos. I have only recently found out about this photochallenge but hope to participate regularly. Spring? great theme but here it is gray and miserable – how do we find spring in that!?!!??
OK, NOW my photos are up
I love the barn shot because it reminds me of your grandparents house but the second reflection shot is exactly what I felt a reflection shot should be. It’s beautiful.
The pond is beautiful – so vibrant!
I love the one with the trees!
I immediately thought of water, too, but my water shots didn’t turn out well at all. I had to go with windows and mirrors.
Wow – great shots!!! The mood in each is so striking. Love the trees on the water especially!
Love your photos! Gosh …. you are just too darned good! I was excited for the prospect of water shots seeing as our snow is FINALLY melting away and the sunshine was out! Alhtough, I do have to say that this was a really tough one for me because there just wasn’t alot of options for me to try (or at least in my mind).
Thanks for the great fun!
Such great shots! I love the contrast in colors, the barn is sort of dreary and reminds me of winter and the pond is more vibrant and springlike!
LOOOVE the old tyme vintage feel to the first time…like we’re catching a glimpse into the past. Well done!!
Beth, I always forget to comment on your pictures! I can see how that field intrigues you. The second one is neat because the dormant grasses in the forefront of the shot blend in with the reflection of the trees and looks like an extension of the reflection.
Great shots! I really like the second one, but I get your thoughts on the first one.
I totally had my post ready last night, but I’m still 40 with Mr. Linky-you have some readers ready and waiting for your post!

Here is my first edition of the You Capture photos. It was fun. Thanks for hosting and encouraging others to take pictures.
I like the 2nd picture…with all the bare trees in the water…
I used some older shots I took last year ~ they seemed to fit the Reflection idea better than anything I could come up with this week.
I love the barn shot! It’s so chilly and ready for life to come back again, very cool.
I’m still trying to figure out how to take the EEEE!SLR Camera out in public & 1.not look like an idiot with this big arse camera & why NO!I’m not a photographer, I just play one online & 2.not break the camera while wrangling two small children. All that to say, the camera doesn’t leave the house often enough!
I love the barn shot! I love photos of barns or other wooden structures!
ARGH! How did Thursday come so quickly!?!?? I swear, if I can’t come up with something for next week’s challenge, someone should take away my camera…Or yell at me. lol
I really like the barn shot, too. I think it’d make a nice print to go on a wall in, say, a family room. Very home-y.
Love them! Especially the last one.
Both your pics are great, I love lake reflections though. This challenge was harder than I thought it would be. Reflections are so much more revealing than shadows!
Beautiful captures this week.
Wow Beth, I love the one with the trees! Beautiful colors, and that makes me want to live somewhere that has a barn house!
I love the last one….
Also diggin’ the challenges…
Not only does it make me pick up my camera but it shows me the world around me…… and the things I miss because life gets in the way….
Very nice shots!
I love yours. So unique and beautiful. I especially like the second one. I’m going to look for signs of Spring this coming week. Although, I have to tell you that it’s supposed to snow and be yucky cold all week long
It might make for some good shots though! I bet I could get pretty creative.
I really really love these shots!
I actually really love the second photo. I hope that you recapture the barn photo.
Just want to let you know how much I am enjoying your assignments each week. You are making me search for things in my photography that I might have just overlooked. THANKS!
Beautiful shots Beth!! I am a day late, but hey, I’m doing it anyways.
I hope you are having as much fun with this as we are. Your images are so amazing! Please have no doubt of your talent.
Love them both. I’ll be doing spring in the Smokeys. I got some great shots there.
I’m so glad to take part in these. I sure hope we have some small sign of spring this week here in Maine.
This is so fun- Glad you are doing it.
I don’t know if I am too late posting this, but I discovered this through another blog and thought I’d give it a shot. Thanks for hosting! ^_^
I didn’t learn about this until this week… can anyone join in or did you have to be involved from the start? Seems fun!
My first week to participate & I was late joining in. I really enjoy photo challenges, so I hope to participate again. Thanks!
