Lands’ End – a giveaway
ByComments are closed, the winner is Nicole at 4 and Counting. Thanks for entering!
A few weeks ago, Lands’ End sent me this bathing suit. Go ahead and look and then come back.
I have to tell you that I look JUST LIKE THAT GIRL in the suit.
Minus the perfect body and the beautful hair and the glowing skin. Other than that, we are like twins.
But seriously, there aren’t many people who have birthed children who can still say they like the way they look in bathing suits and the ones that can, well, they can suck it they’re the lucky ones. Because, me? In a bathing suit? IS NOT CUTE.
But still, a few times a year, like once, I cram my rolls and such into the spandex and then me and ALL OF THE PALE and the mashed up rolls all head out to the beach. I do this all for the love of my children.
I’m not going to tell you that I put the suit on and I was magically thinner, because if that were the case I would have it on right now and I’d wear it to the grocery store. But I will tell you that it fit nicely and it more importantly TUCKED nicely. If you know what I mean. If you don’t know what I mean, you can suck it you are very lucky.
So, I received a free bathing suit from Lands’ End to review and I also get to give away a $100 gift card from Lands’ End. This company is incredibly generous and has full faith in bloggers and listens to what we have to say. I.LOVE.THAT.
Who wants to win the $100 gift card to Lands’ End?
Here’s what you have to do to win:
In the comment section, tell me what you are going to do this summer that you are excited about. You can also feel free to head over to to their website to see what you would buy with your $100 and come back and tell me because I’m nosey like that. (personally, I would pick this, but that’s just me. Yes, I know it’s over $100, leave me alone, it’s my dream.)
Do not say “pick me” in the comments because that is SO ANNOYING.
For a second or third entry, tweet or blog about this giveaway. Please leave the link to the tweet or the blog post in the comments separate from your first entry because that’s how I maintain the randomness when choosing the winner.
Also, before I forget, Lands’ End is giving away a trip for four to BARBADOS. I have been to Barbados and I can tell you that YOU NEED TO GO THERE. You can enter their sweepstakes by clicking here. And if you go, I’ll go with you. K?
$100 gift card giveaway ends on Friday, May 29th, 2009 at noon, baby.

I’m looking forward to spending some time in the great outdoors with my kids! Oh…and my baby sleeping through the night…surely she will sometime this summer…I hope?
I would buy a cashmere sweater (I’ve never owned one) or some shoes or a swimsuit or an adirondack chair. I can’t choose!
My summer will be filled with bike rides, trips to the local pool, and beach. We will attempt to explore our native land (meaning visit touristy places in Upper Michigan where we live). With a 5 and 2 year old in tow….we tread lightly and just go with it. If it doesn’t work, we’ll try again another weekend!
And as for what I’d spend my $100 at Lands End on……usually I get stuff for my girls, so if it isn’t that, I’d go with some new shoes. I love new shoes!
I love Lands End! I think the cruise I just got back from was my fun for the summer (even though it’s not technically summer yet.) I splurged before the cruise and bought myself a Land’s End swimsuit. I love it! If I win the certificate, I will get myself a Fit1 tank and tee in Bright Lemon and Turquoise Blue. I would also get a scarf and maybe even some of their Mary Jane Terrain shoes. Thanks for the imaginary shopping trip! Good times!
This summer I’m going to visit my brother in San Fran who I have not seen in over a year. I am SO EXCITED!
I would buy a pair of their toe-strap mary janes because they are adorable and perfect for trekking around San Fran, as well as the playground with my kids. I would spend the rest on ????. No idea. Maybe a cute swimsuit.
Thanks for the opportunity!

I totally need a new bathing suit
I also put this giveaway in my facebook http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=825200674&ref=profile
and I also put you on Twitter https://twitter.com/mrsfawhittaker. Wow you are all over me!
The thing I am so excited for this summer is our vacation. It starts in St. Louis where we will visit some awesome friends and then I am traveling up to Chicago to party it up with my friends going to Blog Her. I can’t stay because I have a wedding shoot on Saturday, I had to decide between building my business and going to blogher and the business won, but I am glad that I am getting to see everyone.
And I think I want that bathing suit. I need one and if it works like it says it does then I am sold.
WooHoo! I love Land’s End!!
This summer we’re taking a road trip from Toronto to Philly to visit my best friend! We’ll be touring DC, NYC and anywhere else we can think of in between. We are all so excited. My kids are looking forward to seeing the Statue of Liberty.

We are going to the beach! My kids have never even dipped their toes in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico! So with my frecckles and moles and all, I would love one of their long sleeved (with SPF) rash guards for ME! (kids already have them!)
This summer…hmmm….I think the most exciting part of this summer is that I might become a stay at home mom once again!!! We just welcomed our third daughter into this world, and so my heart’s desire is to be at home with our girls and not have to return to work, so we are working diligently to make that happen. So…a bathing suit would be a great thing, especially with this fresh post-partum tummy!
Thanks so much!!

The only trip we have planned so far is Disney…and we leave SUNDAY! Yay!
As for the hundred bucks…I’m rather fond of their Lighthouse Golf Bag. In pink, of course. It just might motivate me enough to get back out on the course.
I’m interning at a Public Defender’s office and I love it!
I am not a swim suit shopper, but I would like to get some school uniforms for my kiddos.
As for the summer plans – we are off to Hawaii.
I’m going back to work in late summer (middle school teacher) after a 5-year hiatus to be a full-time mom to my son until he reaches school-age. On one hand, I’m terribly excited – I love the work so much that it really doesn’t seem like a job. But on the other hand, I’m having a tough time knowing that it symbolizes the end of spending all of my time with my little man.
This summer I am looking forward to 4th of July this summer and seeing my 2 year old’s reaction to the big fireworks!
If I had the giftcard from Land’s End I would get some more of their layered tee’s and tanks. I love the colors they have- especially the light purple/dark purple combo!
Excited about spending some outdoors time with my boys (hubs & baby) this summer!
I’ve been eyeing that swimsuit you got for a while now! Pretty sure I’d get that!

I am looking forward to being free of homework, eh, I mean for my KIDS to be free of homeowrk.
And I would get a bathing suit– LE bathing suits are excellent for disguising the bits that should best not be seen– by anyone!
thanks!
My husband is taking all 5 of us to New York and Washington DC on vacation. We’ll be gone for two weeks. We’ve never taken such a long vacation with all 3 kids before, so I’m excited but a little nervous as well. They are 6,7, & 8 which can mean lots of fun or lots of trouble…depending on their moods. We’ll be there just long enough to watch the fireworks over the capitol on July 4th!
I live at the lake in the summer, so I basically live in my bathing suit. I wish I could look like the models they have, but I’ve got some rolls myself!
Anyway, their suits are so cheap! I could get two – maybe three if I throw in a few bucks of my own! I’d for sure get buy bathing suits if I won!
I tweeted about it here too!

I love the bedding set you linked! I would be miss practical mom and buy new backpacks and lunch boxes for the kids. They trashed the ones from this year. Lands end stuff is supposed to hold up better! (their clothes really do but never tried the packs)
Oooo…cute suit! There is so much great stuff at Lands End, I would probably use the gift card on a swimming suit or a pair of summer shoes…their shoes are great!
I am spending my summer organizing our new house and trying to make it feel like home. Since, we moved back to my home town, I will also be taking the kids to do all of the things that I did as a child. I am really striving to make great memories with our kids and live every day to the fullest!! Happy summer!!!
I’d buy the Women’s Sophia Print Dress in Pink Coral. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I am heading to a beach in Florida with over 350 high school kids in June.
The rules are only one-piece swimsuits(not that I would brave a bikini for any reason). So I would definitely get one of the cute tugless tank swimsuits and all the different cover ups I could afford. It will be challenging enough to keep up with these kids, so I would like to not be challenged keeping up with my swimsuit. Thanks Lands’ End from moms like me.
My rolls could definately use a tummy tucking swim suit this summer! We’re going on vacation with my husband’s parents an some of his extended family for the first time in the Outer Banks, NC.
As for the $100, I don’t even know where to start. I never spend money on my self and I could use so much. a new pair of kakhi capris would be great since the baby just ruined my other pair by wiping her chocolatey mouth all over my pants on mother’s day!
I’m so looking forward to just having some time off work!!!!
I’d love to use the gift card to get a down mattress cover!!!
well my computer just crashed so not sure if my entry went through or not…so if this is a duplicate entry I am sorry! Basically what I said will be continuing to fight for my life, due to an inoperable spinal tumor and the health problems that accompany it, and I plan to spend much time at the seaside this summer, getting some r&r and sun and surf. I live in Florida so its not hard to find warm weather and beaches year round, but this summer I have visitors coming from several states for long weekends to visit me( and of course the beaches), so I desperately need some modest, yet attractive and comfortable swimwear so I am not constantly handwashing my suit. Lands End has done such a great job with their new lines of swimwear. I was so surprised to find so many choices now, and especially in the area of separates. I love their “beach living” new line of swimwear…control briefs, beach skirts, and tankinis that come in your bra size!

I am looking forward to laying in the sun and reading! And, hopefully getting out of Alaska for a few weeks!! (as beautiful as it is here…I love the East Coast!)
I adore this dress…http://www.landsend.com/pp/ModernPleatFrontSilkCottonDress~197342_59.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::QAK&CM_MERCH=IDX_00002__0000000130&origin=index
I blogged it! http://estherzimmerman.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-favorite-for-month-of-may-and.html
We are going to “float the river”. We have not done this before but expect it to be a great time!
Definitely some new swimwear for me!
We are planning on having beautiful weekends by the pool. Maybe some lake skiing. Low Key Summer.
I would buy shoes at Lands End. I may have to buy them even if I don’t win!
You have a great blog. Thanks for the opportunity!
I’m super-excited about getting away from landlocked Northern Kentucky to visit my parents in Savannah for a week – and we’re taking a couple of day trips to Jekyll Island and St. Simon’s Islan! The best part about this trip is that my mom gets SO excited about being with her grandkids that I actually get something that vaguely resembles a vacation – I get to sleep in while she feeds my 3 year old breakfast! And take a long, hot shower while she plays with the baby! And she has promised to figure out a way to entertain them BOTH simultaneously for a couple of hours so I can work on my scrapbook. That’s bliss, man.
Okay, my picks at Land’s End? The Modern City Weekend chino skirt and the Cotton Modal Foldover skirt (in Salsa Orange! Hot mama!) — because I have recently been trying to find some cute, washable, really-livable skirts to wear, so that I can break out of this old-Tshirt-and-unwashed-jeans routine I’ve gotten into since my baby was born. Those skirts are so pretty and summery!
