Lands’ End – a giveaway

May 25th, 2009

Comments are closed, the winner is Nicole at 4 and Counting. Thanks for entering!

A few weeks ago, Lands’ End sent me this bathing suit.  Go ahead and look and then come back.

I have to tell you that I look JUST LIKE THAT GIRL in the suit.

Minus the perfect body and the beautful hair and the glowing skin.  Other than that, we are like twins.

But seriously, there aren’t many people who have birthed children who can still say they like the way they look in bathing suits and the ones that can, well, they can suck it they’re the lucky ones.  Because, me?  In a bathing suit?  IS NOT CUTE.

But still, a few times a year, like once, I cram my rolls and such into the spandex and then me and ALL OF THE PALE and the mashed up rolls all head out to the beach.  I do this all for the love of my children.

I’m not going to tell you that I put the suit on and I was magically thinner, because if that were the case I would have it on right now and I’d wear it to the grocery store.  But I will tell you that it fit nicely and it more importantly TUCKED nicely.  If you know what I mean.  If you don’t know what I mean, you can suck it you are very lucky.

So, I received a free bathing suit from Lands’ End to review and I also get to give away a $100 gift card from Lands’ End.  This company is incredibly generous and has full faith in bloggers and listens to what we have to say.  I.LOVE.THAT.

Who wants to win the $100 gift card to Lands’ End?

Here’s what you have to do to win:

In the comment section, tell me what you are going to do this summer that you are excited about.  You can also feel free to head over to to their website to see what you would buy with your $100 and come back and tell me because I’m nosey like that.  (personally, I would pick this, but that’s just me.  Yes, I know it’s over $100, leave me alone, it’s my dream.)

Do not say “pick me” in the comments because that is SO ANNOYING.

For a second or third entry, tweet or blog about this giveaway.  Please leave the link to the tweet or the blog post in the comments separate from your first entry because that’s how I maintain the randomness when choosing the winner.

Also, before I forget, Lands’ End is giving away a trip for four to BARBADOS.  I have been to Barbados and I can tell you that YOU NEED TO GO THERE.  You can enter their sweepstakes by clicking here.  And if you go, I’ll go with you.  K?

$100 gift card giveaway ends on Friday, May 29th, 2009 at noon, baby.

I actually just ordered, this morning, this bathing suit: http://www.landsend.com/pp/AlloverControlHineckSlenderSwimsuit~137218_593.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::BLA&CM_MERCH=IDX_00006_0000000208_0000000651&origin=index

So I think I need some water shoes to go with.

We are making our annual trip to the Outer Banks, NC, this July and I can’t wait!

This summer we are joining a pool YAY! Which is why I am also super glad I have a Lands End suit. I love, love LOVE it. I have one with the “Swim mini” skirt and it is so flattering. If I won the gift card I’d probably get another one in a different color!

Oh crud, I was supposed to talk about summer! Can you delete my previous post? We’re heading to California in August for my 20th high school reunion, but the kids are excited b/c they get to hit the beach with their cousins.

WOW! $100 how exciting. This summer we are headed to Ohio to visit my parents and then also Washington DC for the 4th of July. We are really excited about DC because our oldest really wants to go to the Air & Space Museum.

As for spending the $100 I love the beach towels and swimsuits. I would get myself a swim suit and the family some of the yummy beach towels.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

I’m turning 30 in August! I think I am looking forward to that. Well, I always look forward to my birthday anyway. We’re not going anywhere this summer though. If I’m lucky I’ll get to a baseball game or two.

If I won, I would probably buy swimwear. I could use a new suit.

My family and I will be going to Washington D.C. to visit my new nephew and to see all the sights. Really looking forward to it since as a SAHM, I often feel like I’m trapped under a pile of laundry and/or toys. I’m a big fan of Lands End (love the totes!) and I would probably resist the urge to spend it on the kids and instead use it for myself. I think I would get:
A pair of the suede flipflops
    A pair of sunglasses
    A small tote

    Thanks!

If I win the gift card, I would also spend the money in the Home section. Or maybe the pink mary jane trekker shoes. They make me happy. :-)

I’m planning on spending as much “unscheduled” time (meaning -no running around to school & lessons) with my family as possible….playing at the beach, running through the sprinklers, spending time on the boat…I can’t wait.

With that said – I’ve had my eye on so many of their swimsuits and cover-ups!

Next weekend in our city there is a big festival for kids called the Teddy Bear’s Picnic. It’s put on by our local children’s hospital. Kid’s bring their teddy bears and the teddy bears get xrays, stitches, casts, etc from the hospital personnel. There are lots of tents and activities and my daughter LOVES it. That’s what we’re looking forward to right now!
With $100 I would put together a new tankini top and bottom set!

I clicked over to see what I’d pick, then got lost in the virtual swimsuit try-er on-er. Wow! I’d probably pick a swimsuit (or 2 since they’re on sale). I have not donned a swimsuit since 2005, before I had kids. For some twisted reason, my daughter ended up w/ 3 swimsuits for the summer and my son with 2. I feel kind of obligated to take them to some sort of water thing, but in order to do that, I first need to procure some sort of suit that “tucks”. :0

Spending most of the summer just sweating it out in nyc! But strangely am kind of psyched about it. Plan to uncover all the cool things to do here that we never usually do. Anyway, all you need is some waterproof shoes and sprinklers and to a 6, 3 and 1 year old that’s a good day!

Lands end rocks. Would buy a bikini with a decent sized behind! http://www.landsend.com/ix/womens-clothing/Women/Swimsuits/Bikinis/. What is up with all the brazilian style bikini bottoms at the GAP? unwearable after kids!

Let’s see . . . how I am spending my summer vacation? COLON RESECTION. My daughter graduates from high school (3rd of 5) in 5 days, one week later we’re having her graduation party, 2 days later I’m having a colon resection. I managed to postpone it until after this big event. In the meantime, I had started (the day after Thanksgiving) scraping popcorn acoustics off the ceiling in the kitchen, breakfast and family room so now we are scrambling to get it all painted before the party. (This also works to keep my mind off the surgery.)

I desperately need a new swimsuit and I like the look of the suit they sent you and also the swim mini. If I don’t win I will still buy a swimsuit from Lands End. And sandals or water shoes.

Thanks for the lead. I don’t like shopping and it really helps when someone takes me by the hand.
So, if my surgery is really and truly only a 4 week recovery, we will be spending a week at Bull Shoals Lake (Arkansas) with family in July.
