A few weeks ago, Lands’ End sent me this bathing suit. Go ahead and look and then come back.
I have to tell you that I look JUST LIKE THAT GIRL in the suit.
Minus the perfect body and the beautful hair and the glowing skin. Other than that, we are like twins.
But seriously, there aren’t many people who have birthed children who can still say they like the way they look in bathing suits and the ones that can, well, they can suck it they’re the lucky ones. Because, me? In a bathing suit? IS NOT CUTE.
But still, a few times a year, like once, I cram my rolls and such into the spandex and then me and ALL OF THE PALE and the mashed up rolls all head out to the beach. I do this all for the love of my children.
I’m not going to tell you that I put the suit on and I was magically thinner, because if that were the case I would have it on right now and I’d wear it to the grocery store. But I will tell you that it fit nicely and it more importantly TUCKED nicely. If you know what I mean. If you don’t know what I mean, you can suck it you are very lucky.

I love lands end. Their items are always of great quality and hold up for a long time. I love their plus size section. I would use the $100 to purchase a pair of shorts and shirt. I need a new outfit for summer.
We plan on going somewhere for our 20th anniversary in june and I need a new outfit to take.

I’m looking forward to 4 nights without kids while they go to grandma’s house! Also, camping with kids this summer will be fun. I would probably use the money to buy a swim suit – love thier suits. They are the only ones that fit my long torso. Gotta love a swim mini to hide those thighs!
I am getting MARRIED!!!! I will be finalizing all of the wedding plans, purchasing my vail, shoes, etc. I am having my Bridal Shower and Bachlorette Party!! We will be camping, which is always lots of fun (although I do not like the packing, unpacking and all of the cleaning needed afterward). It is going to be a GREAT Summer!!!
We just bought a canoe yesterday for a summer filled with camping and canoeing so I would love to get a bathing suit (have I mentioned it has been 4 years since this body has been in one or even owned one) and maybe a shirt if there is anything left over.
I am planning to do a 5K this Summer….cause, yes, I am crazy! Really, it’s just something I have never been great at, and dern! I want to accomplish this! Plus, it will help keep my mind focused on something other than the “wait” with our Russian adoption. Also, my almost six year old is gonna jog it with me which I am super excited about!
I LOVE Land’s End and I think some new beach towels and a beach bag would do nicely.
This summer I’m excited about going to my husband’s paternal grandparent’s 60th anniversary in Canada. Mostly because Alberta in July is MUCH nicer than Dallas in July.
We are flying out to the west coast and driving back this summer! “We” being myself, my two kids, and my sister and her one kid. Are we crazy?? Two women, three kids, ten days on the road?? The jury is still out on this.

I get to see my sister-in-law and her husband, and get to introduce my daughter to her other Aunt, Uncle and cousins. All in the same week!
I am a teacher, so I am excited to just be home everyday with my family this summer. I really enjoy doing the small things for my kids and husband, so I am looking forward to being able to make them lunch, tuck them in for naps, and take them outside to play without having to rely on daycare to do it for me.
I would get a pair of their khaki shorts (I LOVE the new sizing at Land’s End!) and I would also get a pair of their Mary Jane sandals.
This summer, I am quitting my full time job and going to work part time so that I can spend more time with my little guy before he starts school. If I won, I would get some polo shirts. I really need some new ones!
We will be spending time at our cabin in Utah, escaping the heat where we live.

We are spending time together, getting ready for our first years of school. We did a big disney trip which was the start of our summer, and that was pretty darned exciting!
I would love to spend money on a new bathing suit, but I think the money would go toward a gift for my kids, as it usually happens.
We live on a 2,500 acre farm/ranch so summers are not for vacations but are all about working for us. It’s the time of year we make our money so we have to work hard! We still like to take breaks and swim, make homemade ice cream, visit grandparents. Those are our boring plans for the summer.

I’m excited to see my family this summer. My parents and brother and his family live in Washington while I live in California. My sister lives in Vegas so we all don’t get together often enough. We’ve started getting together every summer to make it easier than trying to be together over Christmas. Long story short I’m really looking forward to seeing them all and letting our kids play together in early July. By the way, I’d love the gift card to buy that swimsuit to wear at the lake during our visit! I haven’t had a new suit in a couple of years.

I love Land’s End!! This summer I am going to introduce my daughter to the beach for the first time! With 4 kids it has been a long time since I wore a bathing suit and it WILL be scary! We are doing several fun things this summer…my 10 yr old daughter and I are going on a mother/daughter girl scout trip to Savannah, GA. We are so EXCITED!! Also, my husband and I are going away with out our kids to Charleston, SC. That will be a fun time and then the whole family heads to the beach at the end of the summer. I am going to Little Rock to see my cousin and her 3 boys. Then, at some point this summer we will go to San Antonio. We go every year. The outlets in San Marcos rock! When Texas has their tax free weekend, we make our trip to San Antonio, and stop to shop on the way. I try and get a lot of my son’s school clothes bought during this time. It is the only way I can afford it. I would use the gift certificate to buy him (and me) something! I need a new bathing suit. The one I have is a little snug. I blame it on the dryer. But, you know if I was being honest with myself, it is because I have gained a little weight since last year. But, I am now working to get it back off! Thanks!
Oh Beth, I SO need to win this and I will tell you why. I have a Sister vacation planned for next month at Sandestin beach Florida and I have put off getting a swimsuit because I am a whale. I need cheering up. I checked out what Land’s End has to offer and I fell in love with the Coral Reef Cover up skirt with matching Bandeau x-back swim top and matching bottoms. It would match the white cover up shirt I have already. The selection they have is great. I had looked at just my size catalog and they don’t measure up to what Land’s End has to offer. Hi! So I’ve been following your blog for awhile and I think it is wonderful. And may I say how cool it is that you got a swimsuit (that fits) for free to try out!! Superb!!
This summer my 3 sons and I are going to be moving to Fairbanks, my hometown. I have been divorced for almost 2 years and have finally found (or should I say refound) a great guy who adores me, and better yet my sons (he even wants more kids, I’m stoked.)
I am very very nervous about taking this step, but excited at the same time. I will be happy to be home and near my dad, brother and sister, but sad to be away from my mom who helped me pick up the pieces after my divorce.
Fortunately my boys are really excited to move (again, we’re former Army) and they keep their mommy in check.
I guess that’s probably more information then you were looking for, but I figured if you can share then I can share back.

I just ordered too many swimsuits from there hoping one will work. Sadly, that one wasn’t in my order.
We are going to MN to visit family this summer and be on a lake. And have grandparents to help with the kids. Lovely
I would use my gift card to order 2 pairs of Chino Crop Pants. Why? Because I do not own any. There are certain occasions in the summer where shorts are too casual, but it is just TOO hot for pants. Enter the crop pants. Yes, I know I could just buy myself some, even one pair, but I have three growing boys. By the time they are outfitted with clothes that fit….this week anyway….there is too much mommy guilt to buy my own chinos;)
We’re headed to New York for a toddler free vacation. Our friends are traveling with us and I’m SO excited about this. For our family “vacation” we’ll be going to stay at my parent’s house at the beach while they’re out of town this summer. It’s free and they already have all the kid stuff, even diapers so packing is EASY!
This is corny but I can’t wait until my tomatoes grow and I can pick them from my yard and eat them. I am excited about all my other veggies too!
