Lands’ End – a giveaway

May 25th, 2009

Comments are closed, the winner is Nicole at 4 and Counting. Thanks for entering!

A few weeks ago, Lands’ End sent me this bathing suit.  Go ahead and look and then come back.

I have to tell you that I look JUST LIKE THAT GIRL in the suit.

Minus the perfect body and the beautful hair and the glowing skin.  Other than that, we are like twins.

But seriously, there aren’t many people who have birthed children who can still say they like the way they look in bathing suits and the ones that can, well, they can suck it they’re the lucky ones.  Because, me?  In a bathing suit?  IS NOT CUTE.

But still, a few times a year, like once, I cram my rolls and such into the spandex and then me and ALL OF THE PALE and the mashed up rolls all head out to the beach.  I do this all for the love of my children.

I’m not going to tell you that I put the suit on and I was magically thinner, because if that were the case I would have it on right now and I’d wear it to the grocery store.  But I will tell you that it fit nicely and it more importantly TUCKED nicely.  If you know what I mean.  If you don’t know what I mean, you can suck it you are very lucky.

So, I received a free bathing suit from Lands’ End to review and I also get to give away a $100 gift card from Lands’ End.  This company is incredibly generous and has full faith in bloggers and listens to what we have to say.  I.LOVE.THAT.

Who wants to win the $100 gift card to Lands’ End?

Here’s what you have to do to win:

In the comment section, tell me what you are going to do this summer that you are excited about.  You can also feel free to head over to to their website to see what you would buy with your $100 and come back and tell me because I’m nosey like that.  (personally, I would pick this, but that’s just me.  Yes, I know it’s over $100, leave me alone, it’s my dream.)

Do not say “pick me” in the comments because that is SO ANNOYING.

For a second or third entry, tweet or blog about this giveaway.  Please leave the link to the tweet or the blog post in the comments separate from your first entry because that’s how I maintain the randomness when choosing the winner.

Also, before I forget, Lands’ End is giving away a trip for four to BARBADOS.  I have been to Barbados and I can tell you that YOU NEED TO GO THERE.  You can enter their sweepstakes by clicking here.  And if you go, I’ll go with you.  K?

$100 gift card giveaway ends on Friday, May 29th, 2009 at noon, baby.

I’m SUPER excited to go to Disneyland *and* Disney World on a trip I WON from an online contest!!! So I entered the Barbados contest because I’m feeling lucky. Oh, and I’m buying some Powerball tickets for tomorrow night. :)

As for Lands’ End stuff, I have a pair of their River Trekker shoes that I love (they look like Keens but they’re a lot cheaper) so I’d probably get some shoes, and maybe one of their tummy slimming swimsuits. Because I’m not one of the lucky ones, and those “lucky ones” can suck it!

I’m taking my kids on a vacation to North Dakota. North Dakota, you say? Yes, there’s lots to do there!

I would buy myself a brand spankin’ new Lands’ End swimsuit. Since I discovered them 15 years ago, they’re the only suits I buy because I can always find one to fit my hard-to-fit shape and cover what needs to be covered.

Ahhh my love affair with Lands End would only get better with a sweet gift card like this! I love Lands End cashmere, their bathing suits and I check Overstocks On the Counter several times a week. It’s an addiction for sure. And I would happily dress in Lands End clothes as we make our move from RI to Staten Island, NY this summer. It’s going to be a stressful summer, so why not be dressed well :)

First, fab giveaway!!!! Second, if I were to win I’d pick this http://landsend.com/pp/BeachLivingKaleidoscopePrintVneckSwimTop~191488_593.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::OZD&CM_MERCH=IDX_00006_0000000208_0000000645&origin=index
with the solid matching bottom and little skirt cover-up because…. I’m six months post-partum with my third baby and it’s not lookin’ so pretty, and well, I have a feeling we’ll be spending a lot of time at the beach because of what I’m excited about this summer.

The summer: My husband has taken a 9 month detail in Southern California starting June 1st, which means I’ll be packing up my three girls and I from NC and heading out to Valencia, CA for the summer. I’m super excited (and a little nervous) about the oppurtunity to take the girls out to CA, the beach, Disneyland, LegoLand, San Diego Zoo, Yosemite… my summer is filled with endless plans. The girls are 6m, 4 and 6 so this is really the last summer where we could just pick up our lives for this time and move, so I’m excited for the chance.

Hi. (Love your blog – really!)

This summer we will be returning to China to adopt our second daughter – Milana. I can’t think of anything I’d rather do this summer. :-)

I recently lost 40 lbs (I can’t believe it yet!) and saw a groovy little raincoat I could use in the Lands End site.

    Cheers,

This summer I am going to prove my love for my children by stuffing the body the bore all 3 of them into a bathing suit (preferably one purchased from Lands’ End with the $100 gift card) and taking them to the pool — 3 days a week! Yes, I love the little beings that much. And my oldest (who is 7) wants to do swim team and I want to watch her enthusiasm and zeal. And the fact that her adorable, skinny little body looks perfect in any bathing suit!! Oh, to be 7 again!

This summer I am scheduling Aidan and Asher up for a ton of stuff at our local YMCA. Aidan desperately needs some more socialization before entering school and I’m hoping all the time there will force me to work out more. Cuz at this point, I will not be getting into a swimsuit of any kind for any reason. I love my kids and therefore I will not embarrass them. That is my gift to them.

I would spend that gift card on this

rockin’ backpack for Aidan who will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall. Then I would spend the rest on these

I’ll be visiting Christy next week and probably one other time this Summer, hanging with my mom, visiting another girlfriend in Dallas, and HOPEFULLY taking a family trip to Los Angeles in August, to visit my husband’s family- whome I ADORE.

I’m so excited to finally vacation with my three grandchildren after not been able to do it for the last two years (you know what two years in grandchldren’s years are: A LIFETIME!!!). Never been to Myrtle Beach on vacation and looking forward to going there in June. I live in Fresno, CA and the grandkids (and their parents of course) live in Marietta, GA.
With the $100.00 I was looking at getting that bathing suit you tried on, it looks like it will keep me from spilling over (LOL)

I’d like to say that I’d buy something fabulous for myself with the $100 – like a pair of wellies or something. But, honestly, I’d probably spend it on my kid :)

Add to that girls sizes are too small and the next size up is not quite right! Arrrgggg! The suits at Lands End look like they would work for her! I’d love to surprise her!!!

I need a bathing suit. We’re going to Disney this fall, and although I’m shredding, I have a lot of weight to go before I’m to that feeling comfortable in a bathing suit. This would go a long way towards getting that bathin suit!

I’ve been on their site recently, and I like several suits, so it would be hard to choose, but I could do it if money weren’t such as it is!

Ugh. I need a new swimsuit. I JUST added it to my Target shopping list moments before reading your post. I dread swimsuit shopping. Which is PROBABLY why I haven’t purchased a new one in over 7 yrs.

This summer, I’m most looking forward to watching my 5yo son play T-ball for the first time. It starts next week, and he’s so deliciously excited, practicing w/ Dad often in the backyard. He’s even obsessed w/ picking the “right” number for the back of his shirt. Sweet boy.
