Print & Prosper – a beautiful printer giveaway!
ByA few weeks ago, I was introduced to Kodak and their Print and Prosper campaign, which is a campaign to teach consumers how to obtain real value from the products they purchase.
Did you know that last year Americans spent FIVE MILLION DOLLARS too much on ink jet printer? It’s true, we did.
As part of the campaign, I was sent a Kodak ESP 7 All-in-One printer to review. The printer is incredible, not only fast, wireless (wi-fi) and unbelievable quality, but you can also print up to two times more documents and photos using the same ink than you would with your current printer.
Also, as part of the campaign, I was able to take part in a conference call with Laura Rowley, a personal finance expert. Laura and the team of bloggers on the call all came up with amazing ways to save money, here are a few of my favorite tips from Laura, tips for every room of the house:
Use your family room to unplug, literally. Vampire drain of electricity in “standby mode” –turned off but still plugged into the wall – drains our wallets $3 billion per year. Plug items into fuse-protected power strips that don’t suck energy from the wall when turned off.
Rethink your ink in the office. Equip yourself with items that stretch your dollars like Kodak’s All-in-One Inkjet printers, which can save you up to $110 a year on ink.
In the bathroom, go with the low-flow. Water bills can be cut back 25 to 60 percent by replacing showerheads and faucets with low-flow aerating models for $10 to $20 each. Look for a model that’s 2.5 gallons per minute to save on average $200 per year.
A dirty secret. Households spend an average of $1,500 a year on dry cleaning, and 65 percent of those clothes are washable, according to Proctor and Gamble research. Wool, cashmere, silk, rayon, polyester and spandex can all be laundered, saving America $750 a year.
You can find even more really SMART tips at Print and Prosper and Money and Happiness.
I’m so excited to be able to give a lucky reader a Kodak Ink Jet ESP7 All-in-One printer, retail value $199.99!

This is awesome! It says I would save 88.57
Just tweeted!

$101…wow! This printer would be very helpful in saving $$.
WOW. 184.52??? Man could I save some money with this printer. The 184.52 could be used elsewhere like what my kids need.
I would have saved 88.57 annually. Not bad, I’d love to have a kodak printer.
I overpaid $73.81 (using the industry averages since my printer wasn’t listed). But still, that’s amazing.
I love the idea of WIFI printing since I have a couple notebooks in the home it would be so much easier than having to get them all networked through one desktop (like I currently have to do)
Also, it would save me space on my desk to have something like this since it scans and copies!
I overpaid $72. Awesome. And I’m sure it would be more but I print as little as possible at home because our printer is such a piece!
$153.43/year. Wow!! I totally need this!
Oh yeah, I also tweeted about it.

They did not list the printer I own, so my saving were based on average industry standards. I think I spend more than this on ink jet refills…
The saving they projected, $167.00. I purchase new cartridges at least three times a year (probably more) and a color and black packaged together runs me $70. At 3x= $210 per year!
Ask me if we should have done some printer ink refill cost homework before we bought our new printer!!
Twittered!! Here’s hoping…

I would save just under $100! Funny how easy it is to just throw away money and not realize it!
Man I’m glad I barely print (well at least at home … lol it’s too expensive with mine). I could have saved $117.11!!! That is crazy!
