Dear Beth,
Just because you go to a conference and you have a camera doesn’t mean you need to always put yourself in the shots because in the end your shots will be ruined because you either talk while someone is taking your photo or you blink or you look like you are going to eat someone. (seriously, why so eager?)
Love,
Beth
Now that that is out of the way, I wanted to share with you some of my friends that I met at Blogher. Blogging is a beautiful thing, you create these relationships on-line where you share your life honestly (hopefully), you read about others and their struggles with life, you relate, you share, you create a friendship.
And for me? People helped me and loved me during the darkest days of my life. I met so many who have affected me more than they could ever know. My only wish is that I could have met more of you. Anytime someone approached me and said “Beth! I read your blog!” I would be like “Really? Because now I want to lick your face and hug you and talk about us forever and ever! LET’S TAKE A PHOTO, WITH ME IN IT, OF COURSE!”
Fortunately, that hardly happened so there wasn’t much face licking. But dangit, when it did happen, I loved it so much.
It happened here with Rita. I licked her face. We weren’t good photo mates because when I took a good photo, she was talking and vice versa, so I’ll just show both to you. She’s wonderful and beautiful.

And then I met Zakary. She was the first person I met. I know what you are thinking and you’re right, she does look just like Kyra Sedgewick and when we were checking in right next to each other, I did not look at her and internally freakout that “KRYA SEDGEWICK WAS CHECKING IN RIGHT NEXT TO ME!! WHERE IS KEVIN BACON?!” Nope, not me. *cough*
But instead, it was Zak and that made me so happy because I really LOVE her.

And then I met Amalah and then I passed out and I remember nothing past that moment.

Why? Why Beth? Why must you be in EVERY.SINGLE.PHOTO? And apparently I was very thirsty.
Oh look, here’s a shot without me, what do you know? This is Erin and Alice. I ADORE Erin and Alice. Erin, Sarah and Stephanie and I walked one mile to Anthropologie and a mile back. It was a highlight of the weekend.

And then I met the Justices from MamaLaw. Justice Fergie and I have been blogging together since we were blogging babies and then she was pregnant when I was pregnant with James and Jake and she had a little boy and we are so connected I could cry thinking about it. And when we met? There were tears and it was so unbelievably beautiful and memorable, I will carry that moment with me in my pocket forever.

And Justice Jonesie is on the right and is the most beautiful jerk EVER. (she’s not a jerk, she’s awesome, but she’s so beautiful that she’s a jerk. Got it?) They are putting a conference together this fall which I think is incredible and I’m so proud of them.
That’s all I have for now, but there are more…so many more! (hopefully not so many of me and my VERY SHINY FACE.) KBYE.
One more note: I loved Blogher and I think you should go in 2010, despite the swag issues.

Once again, I want to give HUGE, MASSIVE PROPS to Snapfish for sponsoring part of my trip to Blogher. I have some really, really cool giveaways coming up from Snapfish. Be on the lookout!

I can’t wait to check out those ladies’ blogs! And at least I have a whole year to contemplate next year’s Blogher. I’m still weighing everyone’s opinions, lol.
It really was exciting for me to meet you, thanks for the picture!
Hmmm. I keep hearing about all of this swag business, but am surprised that I haven’t heard yet about you swiping all of the beer. I’m wondering what is in your other hand we can’t see in that photo…….2 more beers? 3 maybe? Notice you can’t see your hands in any other photos. Peculiar. He he he.
I have the other problem of never being in the shot. I always feel weird asking people to take my picture so I can be in it. I think I need to get over that so people know I was “there”.
I love all the pictures. You look so happy. And that Erin and Alice look like they could be related to Steph and Ivy!
Such fun.
Nell
You look great in all the photos I’ve seen of you. Just sayin’.
You were such a busy award-winning rock star and still you took the time to be kind to me. Thank you.
WAAAA I wish I had the chance to go
Fun!
Looks like it was an awesome time and can’t wait to read more about it!
I love all these interesting pictures of interesting bloggers including YOU. Thanks for sharing them.
Those are great pictures! I like the talking ones, I’m usually a blinker with a triple chin somehow (my body’s reaction to a camera I guess).
I love seeing all your photos! My favorite is the one with you holding two beers. Because you always need a backup.
Also, you are right about me looking like Kyra Sedgwick…if she had frizzy ass hair and a cold sore. Please tell Snapfish to invent something for THAT!
P.S. I had so much fun meeting you!
From now on I really trust everything you say. Somebody who so honestly and openly shows her good and bad side in photos on her blog must be authentic. BTW did the beers taste as good as they look.
I am glad you are in the pictures. You have a pretty smile!
I’m totally glad that you’re in the pictures!! And I’m stoked you and I have a picture together!! I only wish I had had my camera with me so I could have my own copy so I could frame it!
Oh, and you are awesome. That is all.
)
You look great! So shut up.
I kid!
If it was me, my eyes would have been closed in EVERY SINGLE SHOT. I’m that person. Bah.
Looks like a fun time, thanks for sharing!
Oh hush! You are cuteness. I am so happy we got to hang out, and feel honored that you included my picture. Can I use it as my profile picture? Is that okay? Also, I have been wearing the shirt I bought at Anthro almost every day since Saturday, as I have yet to do any laundry.
LMAO!! I so honored that you called me a jerk!! that’s the nicest post about me -ever! smooches.
i loved meeting you too, really, i did. you are so.funny!
ps: don’t forget that all pale girls are welcome in ATL!!
I just want to say one more time how sad I am that I missed you. Next year, I will hunt you down…and bring a phone that actually works. It was an incredible weekend for me too, so glad that so many people enjoyed it to the fullest!
PS very jealous about anthropologie, it’s my favorite store ever.
So, I’ve been twittering with Rita for a couple of days now about how sad I am that we didn’t meet in person and what do I see when I come here? Your picture together! ACK! I will live vicariously through you.
P.S. Your hair looks great Beth!
Another awesome BlogHer post that REALLY makes me want to go next year. Too bad Matt said its either a wedding or blogher (and we all know what one I have to pick haha)
I so hope I’m able to go next year…NYC is closer than Chicago, for sure…
Who do I need to talk to about getting it to come to DC??
it was so great meeting you IRL too! i wish i had thought to coordinate better and we could have hung out for more than 4 minutes. blame it on my overworked (and underpaid) brain.
PS
good lookin’ out on photoshopping my greasy face! drinks on me next year.
