You Capture. 4th of July & food.
ByI am not going to lie to you. I completely forgot what the challenge was for this week, but luckily, I took something like 900 photos this past week (no exaggeration) so I had plenty to choose from. The only shots I don’t have are of food which is probably because I ate tons of it rather than took pictures of it. My scale tells me I should have done it the other way around.
Oh, well. What the heck does my stupid scale know, man?
But then on Monday I went to the doctor and had to stand on their scale and then I got in a fist fight with that scale for calling me out in front of everyone. Including my husband. Tough times.
Anyway, enough of my make-believe-I-fight-with-scales life. How about some photos for you! I decided to create collages for you because I have lots of photos to choose from!
My brothers are identical twins, both Majors in the Army, they were in town this past weekend to receive an award, it was an AWESOME weekend. We don’t get to see them much.

And then kids. Well, kids are FUN on the Fourth of July!

That baby with the flag is my nephew. We are best friends.
So now it’s your turn, but first, some of you are signing Mr. Linky which is beautiful and awesome but you’re not linking back to You Capture which is NOT beautiful and awesome. So, if you are new here…just a quick run through of the directions (below) would be very much appreciated, k? I will be deleting links for those that aren’t complying this week which is annoying because deleting links is annoying.
1. You can join in on this challenge at any time! We welcome & love new participants.
2. Please make sure you are linking directly to your specific You Capture post in Mr. Linky (and not just your site, for instructions, go here) and please make sure you are linking back to this challenge in your post. If you don’t abide by this, your link will be removed. (I know, I’m so mean.)
3. Try your hardest not to reuse a picture from your archives, the goal of You Capture is to get you moving with your camera, get creative! Challenge yourself!
4. Do your best to visit the other participants’ site – everyone loves the traffic, the comments and the feedback (not just you!)
5. And finally, post as many pictures as you want on your post.

SHAPES! (to be linked up on NEXT Thursday’s post – July 16th)
Happy Capturing, Friends!

LOVE THE PICTURES!!! Mine are all spaced out all over the place… LOL That’s me thought My Busy Mind.
Love these!!! I the kids’ shirts and flags!!!
First – my first link didn’t work – so feel free to DELETE
Second, amazing photos! I love the shot of your brothers. Tell them thanks for me!
Finally found a lil time to blog tonite. was on tweet deck and saw your post…Good Job…Thanks for hosting.
Yeah, I was totally lame and didn’t take a single decent photo of my child on his first 4th of July even though we were at the Happiest Place on Earth, which was all decked out in red, white & blue. So yeah, I suck.
Great pictures!!
I always thought July 4th was about celebrating friends, family, freedom & hot, topless pics of Army Majors. No? At least they’re in their uniforms
Oh & the pictures of the kids are cute, too.
Those are great shots! You have a lovely family!
What an incredible collage of patriotic photos – so varied and so appropriate. You’re not only talented and creative but you’re very smart too!!! You covered EVERYTHING! Really nice job AGAIN!
Great shots of your 4th! I love the excitement in the kids’ faces for the parade. I feel the same way every year!
Hey, I have twin brothers too!!! They are not, however, Army Majors. My hubby is a Major though. =) Enjoyed your pics! Thanks for hosting this challenge. I’m having lots of fun.
Love them! Great shots.
Love the shots of the ceremony … so very cool! The kids look like they are having the best time. The colors in those shots are so vivid. They just pop out at you!
I really enjoyed these! Thanks!
Grat pictures, Congratulations to your brothers!
I love the photo of your nephew, Beth. And your brothers. Delicious!
Also, did you make Brian look away when you were weighed? I never made Shane look away when I was pregnant with Luke, but I should have because the last time, he was like, WOW, YOU WEIGH MORE THAN ME NOW. It’s a miracle I’m not a widow.
Oh, also, you’d think I’d remember this and not do it every week, but when I hit tab to go to submit comment (because I AM that lazy), it popped back up to Mr Linky so now I am a total tool who submitted my entry twice. WTF TAB!?
Great photos! The kids are adorable!
Great shots, Beth! I love the ones of your brothers. My husband is now stationed in Savannah getting ready to deploy with the 3rd ID. Thanks to your brothers for the their service and your family for theirs!
First, I LOVE your pictures! Second, a big, heartfelt THANK YOU to your (VERY handsome) brothers!!
I don’t have any pictures of food to share but I do think your brother’s are very handsome. How neat to have twin brother’s. I know you are very proud of them. The kids are so sweet looking in their red, white and blue.
What a lovely family you have. I hate scales.
Love how you put them in a collage. Very cool! Was that done through Picasa?
I love the collages you created! Great photos….I may have to create a collage at some point, rather than my long list of pictures!
I’m so behind on blogs – but I LOVE these photos! And your brothers? Totally hot.
