You Capture – Friends

July 29, 2009 | Filed Under you capture. | 39 Comments

Alright, so I need to cut to the chase with this week’s You Capture.  I’m so tired and my computer is running soooooo slow and the two combined are making for a very frustrating experience.  I click on Firefox to open a window and then it takes 2 minutes to load, I close my eyes while I wait and then I fall asleep and drool slides down my chin, this has happened 429 times in the past hour.

You can see why it’s taken me so long to get this post up.

It’s not my fault.

So, here are my shots.

The first is Sarah Viola, Stephanie and Erin in Chicago.  We walked to Anthropologie, this was taken on our way back to the hotel:

Sarah Viola, Steph & Erin with babes

The next two are my precious babies.  We have been trying to go for walks as a family as a way for us to connect and unplug and get some exercise, it’s been totally enjoyable.

They are totally best friends, even though Ariel refuses to admit it.  How could they not be when they’re less than a year apart?

friends

friendly siblings

Let’s see your shots!

Da rules!  Da rules!

1.  You can join in on this challenge at any time!  We welcome & love new participants.
2.  Please make sure you are linking directly to your specific You Capture post in Mr. Linky (and not just your site, for instructions, go here) and please make sure you are linking back to this challenge in your post.  If you don’t abide by this, your link will be removed.  (I know, I’m so mean.)
3.  Try your hardest not to reuse a picture from your archives, the goal of You Capture is to get you moving with your camera, get creative!  Challenge yourself!
4.  Do your best to visit the other participants’ site – everyone loves the traffic, the comments and the feedback (not just you!)
5.  And finally, post as many pictures as you want on your post.

I will be deleting links for those that aren’t complying, which is annoying because deleting links is annoying.

Thanks, I love you, bye.

next-week2

YOU.  Oh yes, take pictures of YOU.  In the mirror, in a window, a self timer, however you want, spoil yourself with your camera, don’t be shy and think of it as a gift to your children and great grandchildren…and us!

P.S.  We ALL hate having our own photos taken…it’s not just you.  So let’s do this together!

Happy Capturing!

  1. Hawt mamas! Love the baby wearing shot.
And your kiddos are so sweet. It’s awesome they’re so close in age – what a gift.

  2. I love the shot of your kids running down the path. I thought of including a shot of my kids, because they truly are friends. But then I saw how many other pictures I had, so I went with the others!

    And seriously? ME???

  3. I seriously love these! I love how the babies are all looking at each other.

Great photos this week – sorry your computer is wonky! No way – ME! After you just wrote that note to self – now we’ll all be writing notes to self. I guess I’ll have to get creative, ’cause I haven’t missed a challenge yet!

  7. Your friend pictures are very nice : ) I am glad your children have each other. Mine is so lonely! It’s nice to have an extra friend in the summer though!

  8. [...] week’s YOU CAPTURE challenge was [...]

  9. Great captures!! I love the one of your kiddos. Thanks for the fun carnival. I look forward to it each week!

  10. Oh yeah, what in the heck is that in the second picture? Is it a bird? Or a flower that looks like a bird?

  11. I put up a great pic of my kiddos being friends last night, but the post is a little heavy for you capture. Oh well, maybe nrxt week. :) I love that first one – friends and babies – awesome!

  12. Mum-me says:

Your children are gorgeous – I know looks aren’t everything, but if they were you’re children would have it all!

  13. sunnymama says:

Lovely pictures! Your children are adorable and I really like the picture of your babywearing friends :)

  14. Valerie says:

I am so glad you count your children as being one another’s friends.
I have 1 brother and 3 sisters, and I have to say that 2 of my sisters are my very best friends in every definition of the word. So I shared my sons as well.

As for your computer – I am so totally not an expert .. but a few months ago I had the same problem whenever I used Internet Explorer. Because I used a mac I also had firefox loaded. When I used FF there was no problem. IE just spun and spun and took forever to load. I took it to the computer doctor and was told I had bad sectors and the hard drive was and possibly the mother board as well was failing. Needless to say I panicked and bought a new computer. My son has my old computer now and used firefox exclusively and has had no issues with the slow down – as long as he stays away from IE – so we were thinking perhaps it was just bad sectors.

Good Luck! I love your blog!

I’m running late this week because I wanted a picture with MY friends but we couldn’t get together until today. So, look for me this evening!

That said, I love the carriers in the Chicago pic. It makes me miss my babies in the mei tai. :(

  16. Mom at MusingsoftheSixties says:

I love the Chicago pic. It must have been hard for you to post a friends pic because you have so many. And the kids’ pictures are wonderful. They really are such good friends.

  17. kris says:

Your precious babies are so so cute!

  18. Awww those babies. They were in love with each other, weren’t they? And the ladies are all so beautiful.

I love the second photo, too, of your kids. The way you edited it, the distance they were, the joy you can feel coming off the page… so lovely, Beth.

  25. Jessi says:

Great shots as usual. I love your post processing. You convey things very well with the tones you choose. I had to use old pictures this week…I actually feel really bad about it. I hate breaking rules and I feel very sorry. But it just seemed really sad to not be able to post anything for FRIENDS week…of all weeks. The pics aren’t even all that good, but they are friends…

  26. nicole says:

Your friends are so stylish. Their babies too.

I had 3 kids in 23 months (Oct. ‘01, ‘02, ‘03). Two girls and then one boy. Some days they are best friends and some days they are not. It was crazy when they were little, but I love it now. Ariel and Racecar are so sweet.

  27. Kathleen says:

I love, LOVE the character you captured in the first photo!

  28. I have never, ever, done this meme. But this week’s challenge makes me want to!!!

  29. Erin says:

I’m with Lovelyn. Tommy and I want in that top photo!

  30. April says:

I love your friends photos!! All of them!

  31. Elaine says:

I’m absolutely in love with that second picture. And I think it’s wonderful that your children are so close. The first shot is just the epitome of friendship. Such beautiful women and their children… I could go on and on (obviously.) ; )

  32. Meredith says:

As a babywearing and Anthropologie loving momma, I just couldn’t resist posting for the first time after my friend sent me your link. I love your photos and your kiddos are adorable!
