I have a very serious crush on Queen Anne’s Lace this year. More than ever it catches my eye wherever I go and I can’t get enough of it. I’m so sad that soon they’ll be gone, not to arrive again until next summer
Why does the summer fly by so quickly but the winter drags on and on and on?

My mom has a ton of Queen Anne’s Lace in her yard. When I was little, I used to put it in vases of food coloring to dye it different colors. I love it!
I also hate how winter drags, so much that I hate fall a little because I know winter is next.
cause winter is evil bwah ha ha!
except for that whole bug killing part.
I have been asking myself that over and over and over…seriously–January and February have no more days than June and July, but damn. They take forever.
You must love Queen Anne’s Lace because you’re so good at photographing it. What a beautiful picture. It looks so elegant and kind of old fashioned which fits its subject perfectly. Oh, and maybe we should move South.
My great-grandmother used to press Queen Anne’s lace (among many other flowers)!! so beautiful!
Did ya know that Queen Anne’s Lace are basically wild carrots? (The things you learn in Girl Scouts! LOL) Pull several up if you’re lost in the woods starvin’ and VOILA! Root veggie dinner! LOL
Gorgeous photo. Couldn’t agree more,
Very lovely. I like how you edited it.

Beautiful!
So that you appreciate summer that much more!
I’m thinking I have some of this, only I didn’t know what it was called… hmmmm….
Very Cool! I loved that skirt at BlogHer! Thanks for sharing!
Did you ever put them in a vase of food coloring and watch them change to differnt hues of the summer?
I remember when I was little girl going on a field trip and hearing this story of Queen Anne sewing her lace, and then prickling her finger, staining her lacework with a drop of blood. The lady said the little pink/red dot in the the middle of each flower of Queen Anne’s lace is like the drop of blood and the white stuff like the lace. It almost 2am or I’d be telling this story way better, uh, um, where was I? Oh yeah. I thought it was the most romantic story in the world and would check each flower I came across for the little spot of “blood” in the center. The carrot thing is cool too. And the picture lovely of course, as always! (yawn, goodnight)
Queen Anne’s Lace is very photogenic!

Girl, I hear ya! I am also quite drawn to the Queen Anne’s Lace this summer. I had an assignment for my photography class last week and Queen Anne’s Lace was one of my subjects.

I find it amazing that there are so many “weeds” that are so beautiful!!! Although, I do wonder why QAL always seems to have bugs residing on the pretty blooms.
When I was a little girl, my Grandmother told me that Queen Anne’s Lace was made for me, when I was especially well behaved and ladylike (i was a self-professed Tom Boy). I will never forget that, and think of her each time I see the flower growing. After she passed away, I got a tattoo of it, the epitome of UN-ladyliness, but I think she would really like it now. Love the photo and the blog.
