Weepy

oh smores

This photo was taken in June when the weather was feisty and hot.

Yesterday, we woke up and it was actually cold outside and cold in the house.  Our toes were frozen, long pants were put on and Anna, a true fashion devotee, put on a sundress.

I woke up at the early hour of 10:05 (I know!) and wanted to light fall candles and go shopping for pumpkins.  It was so crisp outside.

And you know what?  THIS IS NOT OKAY WITH ME.  It’s August.  I need heat and humidity and lots of sweat.  Fall is going to come no matter what, how about it comes when it’s schedule and not during my S’more time.

I NEED MY S’MORE TIME.

I love the fall! But I do agree that the weather sometimes gets ahead of itself. We’ve had rain for days and its so tiresome!

I don’t need s’more time but I need ice cream time!

I almost drove by the orchard yesterday to see if they were open yet but then I thought, no, I refuse to give in to this weather!

    Mom of Three says:

Lol – the weather is confused! You had chilly air in August, and there were 2 tornadoes in the Caribbean this week (Trinidad). What’s up with that?

    Mama Bub says:

Is that a peanut butter cup in that s’more? Oh. My.

    That’s trouble right there.

Clearly you don’t live near us. It has been so hot and muggy. I can’t stand it. Yesterday, I was it 1830’s full length dress for a concert. It just absolutely clung to me. I would welcome a crisp day.

You are getting the weather we just had…it was downright fallish. It has been hot here the last couple days (Northern WY), but now is cold again. Who know what is going to happen?

    That looks so lick-able. YUM.

After going-on four years of living up here, I’m finally starting to understand your thinking on this. I’m slowly bein’ transformed into a Midwesterner, Beth! In fact I’ve got a blog post set to publish at 5 AM sharp tomorrow morning in which I confess it – I’m going to MISS summer. Yep. Me! The one who usedta couldn’t wait for the first snowfall because Aw… SNOW, it is soooo romantic!

    Two words: Ba. Loney.

Thinkin’ of changin’ the name of my blog to FriedCheeseCurds.

Well, no crisp cool weather here. Hot, Humid, Sticky, Mosquito-y, Lots and Lots of rain….I’m not ready for Fall by any means but I’d like my real summer back. I’m loving your good look’n s’mores. I’ll wait till November to make some s’mores. A fire will be perfect then.

    Corinne says:

Yum… those look so good! We have yet to make smores this year – thanks for the reminder ;)

I agree, though some days I can’t wait for fall, I dont’ want the summer to end quite yet.

    Erin says:

It is NOT OKAY with me, either. The weather is stupid and needs to be punched.
Also, we need to have s’mores. Soon.

    Nadia says:

I am ashamed to say that I have never, EVER tried a smore. I’m going to have to remedy this very soon I thinks. How do you make them exactly? What kind of chocolate do you use?

And the weather? Yes it sucks to put it bluntly. Its been a cold summer and now its nearly over. Ughh.

    Jess says:

Seriously?! Why in the world did it never cross my mind to use a peanut butter cup when we make smores?! Brilliant idea:)

And, I am a big fan of fall. HUGE. I’m in Ohio, and I have to say, this weekend made want to put a sweatshirt on, make some chili and curl up with a blanket. Screw the heat and humidity!

You should move to Maryland…this week we are cooling down to the mid to upper 80s….

    Haley says:

I’m actually ready for Fall. It has been blazing hot here all summer.

Those look amazing…I never thought to put peanut butter cups in the middle!

    Preach the word, sister.

As for me and my house, we need swimming. And the weather just ain’t cooperating this year. It needs to be hot enough to break a sweat to enjoy an afternoon at the lake, and lately, we only get 75 and sunny. And while it’s hard to complain about 75 and sunny, it is NOT summer. We Northerners need to stock up some of that sunshine and heat for the winter that is waiting to pounce.

    April says:

Come down here. You can have the humidity. For real.

I actually have loved this weather!! :-)

    Jen says:

Is that smores with Reese’s Cups? I thought I invented that!!

  23. 23

that looks so yummy! Even though I will admit to enjoying this cool weather, I think this weeks forecast is calling for mid-80’s. At least in central Indiana…

  24. 24
    Kellyn says:

I love the fall, but come on! It was chilly here too, but finally warmed up pretty good yesterday and today. I don’t get it.

  25. 25

I’m SO ready for fall….errr… Autumn – haha!

  26. 26
    Mrs Soup says:

I love the cool weather! It is time for Autumn to come!

    And now I really want a s’more….

    Michelle says:

I’d give anything for some cold, some crisp, some pumpkin-y weather. It’s 101 when I pick up my kids here in the middle of Texas. Fall in unfathomable. A sweater would be a torture device. I pray for Fall!!!
