You Capture – Food
ByI’m just going to say it. I think photographing food is HARD. I mean, it’s easy to just take pictures of food, but to take them so they are interesting to others, besides to those people who are starving to death, it’s not easy.
Also, I’m in a hotel right now and my battery is about to die and I could plug in my laptop but then I’d have to crawl underneath the desk to plug in my computer and well, I just don’t want to get on the hotel floor. You understand, right?
(Dear Hotels, please place extra outlets by the beds, kthanksbye.)
So, here are my shots. Celery and my fifty trillion dollar lunch today at the airport.

I’m not going to lie to you. That pizza was good. Real good.
So, I’m excited to see your photos of food, but I’ll need to do it on a full stomach, otherwise I’ll become very grouchy.
It’s your turn to share! Please read the rules, friends!

Now this one is going to be a little bit of a hunt, or at least it could be, but it’s a good one, ready?
OLD SIGNS.
Happy Capturing!

I need another slice of that pizza NOW. Mine was even prettier with all the colorful veggies, you know. Hungry.
Steph
I want that pizza.
Food IS hard to shoot. I didn’t do pretty food this week. It’s kind of gross actually. Just in case you need an appetite suppressant.
Oh, Heather. I ALWAYS need an appetite suppressant.
I agree, taking good pictures of food is hard! Though I love taking pictures of it… so much fun!
That pizza looks like it was probably worth almost every penny of that trillion dollars!
This was kind of tough, but fun to think about! I love food!
I really need pizza now!
Oh my goodness pizza. I love pizza. A lot.
These are very nice! I so need to figure out how to use my camera better…then I might be able to come close to great shots like yours!
It’s not good to look at these right before bed. I’m hungry!
[...] See more delicious food over at I should be folding laundry. [...]
I’m kind of wanting the fruit that is next to the pizza. I guess I’m not craving pizza at 6 a.m…..but the photos are great.
Great captures.
Shoot! Wish I’d known about this sooner. I love taking pictures of food! (I’m not saying they’re great pics, just that I love doing it!)
Something is wrong in my brain because the fruit looks more appealing than the pizza.
I am going to have to agree with the few who say the fruit looks good. And I am sure that meal did cost that much money!
Food is one of my favorite subjects. It sits still, doesn’t talk back, and always looks pretty.
Food is one of my favorite things to shoot. It sits still, doesn’t argue, and always looks pretty.
That celery color looks really good, but the pizza looks amazing
Food is very hard – but your photos are good! I work in food marketing and we have a food photography studio where we shoot cookbooks and packaging. If I told you what we did to that food to make it look edible, you wouldn’t be hungry.
Thanks for making me hungry. I’m not even a big fan of celery but your celery picture makes me want to grap it through my computer screen and chomp on it.
So you made the celery look really pretty so that was a success and you made me hungry for pizza; therefore I think your food pictures are excellent. Nice job, nice colors and nice composition.
great shots.
i did not participate, the only inspiration I find in food is to EAT IT, not photograph it…
LOL
Oh…yummy! So I finally took pictures and remembered to post them for my first You Capture. But I almost ditched them b/c they aren’t all about food. But there is food in them…so I’m doing it anyway! Now I need to start hunting for old signs.
The fruit looks great!
My camera is broken
but I’ve LOVED these shots and seeing what everyone else has done. You go, girls!
The celery looked a little brown on the tips but I could see the steam coming from that pizza. Good choice on the fruit cup!
you can make celery look appetising. you may have *actual* magical powers!
The airport food looks good to me! Except for the sausage part….
Wow, this post is making me so hungry! I have been meaning to join in for a while now and kept missing the timing, and I think I cut it a little fine this time
but what a fun idea, thanks for hosting us all.
You are so right; capturing food is hard! But, you did a great job with it.
I LOVE green onions!!
Next week’s challenge is going to be fun. I live in the deep south, in an old town. Lots to capture!
I’m sorry times a million! I don’t read instructions, obviously. I linked directly to my shutterfly site. Won’t happen again, I promise.
I’m so happy to have found your blog.
xo
I took my photos early but posted late due to a camping adventure!
ok i’m totally new and i didn’t join in the “food” challenge, but i had to comment because you mentioned how hard it is to take pictures of food. and i laughed because i made an amazing low-fat pasta ala vodka once and blogged about it, pictures and all, and my brother-in-law left a comment, something about “vodka ala vomit” because it looked kind of like puke on a dish.
nice. anyhoo, i’ve been very conscious of my food picture taking as of late, especially with my pasta dishes. haha!
i think i’ll join in this next one if i can find some sign somewhere!
