Seriously?
ByThis past weekend I had planned every single moment with a variety of different activities, from festivals, to apple orchards to birthday parties.
I even had a photo shoot and had dinner with friends on Saturday night. It was a very full, exciting, awesome weekend. (hence the lack of blogging. Sorry, friends!)
This past Saturday I hit 12 weeks of pregnancy, which of course is very, very, very exciting. That uplifted my mood to levels that I can not express. It really was a perfect weekend.
I took a ton of photos, which is wonderful because I haven’t been feeling very creative lately. It felt good to have my camera back in my hands, there was so much around me to photograph. Of course, there is always so much to photograph, it’s just a matter of doing it. Am I right or am I right?
I’m a funnel cake snob. If I see a booth with funnel cakes, I get every excited. But if I see funnel cakes sitting underneath a lamp, keeping it warm? I turn up my nose and go without. But this week, at the first festival we went to…they were fresh out of the oil. So delicious.
We went apple picking, too.
On Sunday, we went to another festival where the kids had kool-aid for their second time in their life. Exhibit A as to why I keep them away from kool-aid.
Then we went to Asher’s first birthday party. Man, I love that kid and he loves me right back. It was so much fun. The food was amazing, but the cupcakes ROCKED MY WORLD. But mostly, Asher is cute.
I took maternity shots of Crooked Eyebrow, she is 38 weeks pregnant and so glowy and happy and I feel so honored to have been the one to capture this season of her life.
I could do maternity shoots forever and ever, Amen.
As you can see, I took a lot of photos this weekend, this being just a fraction of what I took. So you can imagine my dismay when I asked Brian to photograph me for a belly shot and got these as the result:
Then, at one of the festivals, I asked him to take a photo of me for maybe a new profile picture and this is what I have to choose from:
But that’s okay. I’m slightly frustrated but if this is the worst thing that happened this weekend, then it was indeed, THE BEST WEEKEND EVER.
Wow! You DID have a busy and eventful weekend. Your photographs are beautiful, Brian’s aren’t, but his subject is. I’m so happy we’ve reach 12 weeks. Congrats!
Don’t you just love good weekends like that? Full, but not stressful? I always come to work on Mondays feeling great after those kinds of weekends!

My husband take awful pics as well, I always have to have him redo it. When we went to Disney World our pic with me and my children in front of the castle was crooked. The most important picture of that trip and the picture was crooked.
My husband doesn’t take very good pictures of me, either. I like to blame him, but I’m pretty sure it’s just because I’m not very photogenic.

1. Is it gross to have funnel cake for breakfast? Because that’s where I am right now.
2. My kids do not have Kool-Aid either. For the same reasons. And it rots your teeth.
3. I cannot take Asher’s cuteness. Seriously.
4. LOVE the maternity shots! She is too adorable.
5. I don’t know what you are complaining about, any of those pictures are perfectly acceptable for a profile. You know, if you want to be unrecognizable.

When it comes to husbands taking pictures of us…I try to remember the old line
“If you want something done right, do it yourself!” Luckily, there are ways of photographing yourself. I’ve done it. Too many times. With my kids on my lap!
OMGF! Brian has some mad photography skillz. For reals. I want him to take mine next, please!!! SMFD. I think you should definitely go with the top right for your new profile pic. It’s by far the best. Beautifully overexposed to the max.

The photo of me on my blog today was taken by Shane. There’s something fundamentally wrong with the fact that Shane can use a camera and Brian can’t, because I’m pretty sure that back in Shane’s day, they used the cameras where the photographer had to put his head under the black curtain and it took ten minutes to take one photo.
Despite Brian’s ineptitude, these photos and this weekend were both beyond wonderful.
I’m sorry (gasp) I’m sorry (gasp) the Brian photos, I can’t stop laughing! Hehe, they are amusing, but I am so glad you had so much fun, and as for the pics of CE, I already told her – absolutely beautiful.
And Kool-Aid is the devil. That is all.

Why is everyone taunting me with funnel cakes?!?! Everyone and their mother has been to the fair and I’m insanely jealous! The fair around here isn’t for another month and a half and I don’t even know if it’s any good… silly Peanut Festival!

The pictures of CE are great. I SO should have had you do maternity pics of me, but I’ve not been on the ball in that area. I’m a little focused on the “after”…dreaming of holding baby in my arms rather than making the most of this pregnancy!
That funnel cake looks divine. And, honestly, I really want Kool-Aid right now. Yum, I love it. It’s a rare treat for me and as long as I’m pregnant, I am indulging ALL THE WAY!
As far as your baby bump…so cute. I can’t get over how you have such a great one at 12 weeks (and even sooner than that). Mine was just my roll (just got bigger than “normal”) until I was probably at least 20 weeks!!!

Its so frustrating for me too when I take good pictures of everyone around me, but there are very rare good pics of me because I’m not the one taking my own pics.
