I know many of you have been reading my blog for a long time, do you remember when Ivy was born? (Stephanie from Adventures in Babywearing, her daughter.)
That was one year ago today. My mind is blown that this year has gone by so quickly.
This afternoon, Stephanie, Erin, Sarah and I met to celebrate Ivy by going to a bakery that specializes in BEAUTIFUL AND DELICIOUS CUPCAKES.
Ivy and I have such a fun relationship, we make mad faces at each other and we even yell at each other, but today, it was different, she was just a sweet little girl who only wanted to be sweet to me and everyone around. Of course, I was sweet back to her, despite trying to make her make a mad face at me. Her Mom is unbelievably sweet, so this makes total sense.
I was excited to go and take pictures of our sweet treats, but we quickly learned that this bakery will only allow photos if a person is in the shot. Because you know, it would suck if I came here and showed you their amazing desserts and talked about what a cool place this was and everyone went there.
*sigh* I’m not bitter or anything.
But I took a picture of the sweetest thing in the entire shop.
Ivy LaRue.

And then I took a picture of Erin’s chocolate lava cupcake, which was served warm, by the way.

Everything was delicious. We are maybe thinking about very seriously probably definitely considering meeting their once a week. You know, to strengthen our friendship.

Wanna tell us how you blurred everything but the main subject or is that such common information that only I dont know how to do it? Is it your lens??? Help me I wanna do that!
Tears. That’s all.
Holy Moses. Can I come?
Happy Birthday to Ivy!!
Hehe too bad there is no place around here like that. I think I’d be all for strengthening friendship in a place like that
I am glad they you guys were able to celebrate such a special girls special day.
That sounds amazing. And so sweet of you to post about sweet, Ivy.
Ivy is just beautiful isn’t she?!!

And Ivy, oh she’s so adorable and sweet. I hope she had a fabulous FIRST birthday…
Three Things:
A. I’m jealous.
B. Not fair.
B. Where do you live CAUSE I’m moving.
–we do not HAVE a CUPCAKE SHOP–
bcause WE do not live in HEAVEN—
sigh.
Ivy is edible.

That chocolate cupcake looks divine. And I just can’t get over Ivy’s sweetness. Great post.
They are scared you are a wreckporter for Cake Wrecks?
Beautiful, Beth. The post and the chocolate lava cake of awesome (which totally fueled Asher’s first steps, I’m sure of it).
She’s so yummy you could just eat her up!
Jeez those cupcake people need someone to talk some sense into them.
And Ivy is yummy.
That chocolate cupcake makes me want to cry. Wow.
Love Ivy, too
I actually found your blog because of Steph’s blog…..
IVY is such a cutie!!! How lucky are you to be able to have shared her special day with her in person.
And those cupcakes…I heart cupcakes!
Those cupcakes looks yummy! What a sweet face Ivy has!
That chocolate cupcake has me drooling first thing in the morning.
I might have to fly over for the weekly cupcake meeting. Totally inviting myself, sorry
Those look amazing!
I’m loving the photos! I’d like to know what the secret is, too!
I’m guessing she has a high aperture. Which is actually a small number in the aperture setting (I think that’s how it goes…).
Love it!
I would have loved to have been there to share in the sweetness and celebration. I’m so glad you captured such sweet pictures. Steph and Ivy have the bestest of friends! Love to all of you who made this such a special birthday for the little miss Ivy.
p.s. can you do a nightly or weekend cupcake meeting? Thanks…
Wow! What a place! But most importantly what a good time you all had celebrating Ivy’s birthday. And thanks for sharing your amazing pictures!
How do we not have a cupcake shop here?! I would open one except the thought of running another business makes me want to jump off a bridge and I can’t bake for shizz.
I think it’s safe to say Ivy had the bestest birthday evah.
So bummed I had to work and couldn’t be there. What a beautiful birthday celebration. Ivy and all of her girls…
I’m thinking cupcake lunch is in order on my first day out after having Miss E.
Yay for Ivy again! What a sweetie! You went to the perfect place to celebrate her sweetness! And we too have a cupcake shop in town! I just love the idea of it…
Is that the place downtown on the square? I’ve always meant to go there!
I believe that place to produce very strong friendships.
Must go.
Very soon.
Okay, you know I live in the area so I would REALLY appreciate an e-mail to tell me where this place is. We’d love to try it!
Thanks.
Diane
So fun!
Great pictures and sounds like Ivy had fun. I’m in for the next get together.
great photos. I hate when places won’t even allow you to snap a picture of what you’re eating! It’s crazy. I suppose there is always the fear that someone will copy you, but… Anyway. I have never had a warmed chocolate lava cupcake. MUST. FIND. ONE. STRAIGHTAWAY!
Oh man, you are making me wish I lived up North, closer to you guys! I want one of those cupcakes! I agree; you guys need to go there weekly and somehow take me with you…haha!
That’s a beautiful shot of Ivy. She has such blue, blue eyes (and I love that little tuft of hair on the top of her head).
