I don’t even know if I have the words to describe yesterday but I’m going to try.

Crooked Eyebrow was six days over due.  She had been so patient, but after days of false labor and contractions, her patience was wearing thin.  (whose doesn’t in that situation?)

Yesterday, we decided to replay the day Erin’s son was born with all of the things we did that day.  So, we brought Jimmy John’s and MAGIC CUPCAKES to her house.

The day Erin’s son was born, it was a Friday and it was raining.  Yesterday, was a Friday and it was raining.  It was a perfect plan.  (if I do say so myself.)

Erin, Sarah, Stephanie, Arianne and I came traipsing into her house bearing food.  When we arrived she was having contractions every four minutes or so.

We sat around the living room telling jokes and being silly as we ate our sandwiches.  During contractions, CE would stand up and breathe through it, I held her sandwich.  She would sit back down, we’d continue with the jokes and the eating and then when she would have another; I held her sandwich.

It was fun, not necessarily intense, (for us) but fun. We all played a role, it was powerful.

CE and the magic cupcake

After awhile, the contractions increased in intensity, so this time we had together, this last minute get together for lunch turned into being with her during labor.

It was incredible.  There was laughter and cupcakes and music and tears.  CE labored like an absolute champ.

CE labors

It was time for her to go to the hospital but I’ll let her tell you the rest of the story, but it ends up looking a little bit like this.

Go here for more.
