You Capture – Still life

By Beth
Oct 15, 2009

Honestly, every week I could tell each of you that “still life” is our photo topic for the week and I would be happy with it because it can be so creative.  I love it.

I hope you enjoyed it, too.

I was a big procrastinator and took mine about 30 minutes ago, I’m pleased with the results.

This is the dresser in my bedroom, it contains some of my most cherished items; my wedding ring, my James & Jake necklace, the perfume my husband bought for me in San Francisco (which I can finally wear again thanks to my 1st trimester ending) and the last last photo taken of my family when pregnant with the twins.

Another shot of my bedroom.  I love my bedroom.  It’s nothing fancy, that dresser we bought for my daughter when she was born for $99 and the curtain was $12 at Target.  But the simplicity works for me.

And pumpkins!

I LOVE your still life. I love your house and the things in it. I think you should take pics of it every day. I am not sure if mine qualifies as still life. It’s something still and some real life in the way.

This was challenging for me. I could think of things to photograph but it ended up looking.. um… dumb. I don’t have the eye for great angles and editing photos, but I’m working on it! Lovin these challenges!

Your still life shots are so much more serene than mine. :) But you have inspired me to take more shots like these that represent the different parts of our life right now – so I can look back and catch a glimpse of what mattered and what life looked like in these early days of raising babes.

Love the weekly You Captures, Beth. So glad I found your site!
