You Capture – Technology

October 22, 2009 | Filed Under you capture. | 27 Comments

Yesterday I was pretty disappointed that I chose technology as this week’s challenge.  But this morning I took the photo and I’m not so unhappy with my choice anymore.  I like the shot and I appreciate that something so overlooked on a daily basis now looks a little bit like art to me.

(it’s okay that I didn’t polish it up for you, right?)

Now, it’s your turn to share!

Here’s a refresher on the rules:

1.  You can join in on this challenge at any time!  We welcome & love new participants.
2.  ONLY SIGN MR. LINKY IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE ACTUAL CHALLENGE.
3.  Please make sure you are linking directly to your specific You Capture post in Mr. Linky (and not just your site, for instructions, go here) and please make sure you are linking back to this challenge in your post.  If you don’t abide by this, your link will be removed.  (I know, I’m so mean.)
4.  Try your hardest not to reuse a picture from your archives, the goal of You Capture is to get you moving with your camera, get creative!  Challenge yourself!
5.  Do your best to visit the other participants’ site – everyone loves the traffic, the comments and the feedback (not just you!)
6.  And finally, post as many pictures as you want on your post.

Love your technology capture! Totally not a piece of technology that I would have thought of. Very creative. I still need to get on my capture. Really want to take a picture of my phone but will have to wait until I get home from work! :)

  2. Erin says:

I love that shot, except that it made me really want bagels.

  3. FireMom says:

    Now I want a bagel!

I know exactly where I’m going for next week’s challenge. I’ve been wanting to do it, now I have a purpose!

  6. That is one fancy toaster. All mine has is the little dial thingie. =)

  7. Kathleen says:

Ooooooh….I’m having toaster envy! We possess the world’s ugliest toaster oven, and while I appreciate the “oven” part, sometimes I wish we had a beautiful “just toaster” like yours!! Great shot!

  8. Melissa says:

Great shot on the toaster! And thanks for giving me the chance to have so much fun with my camera!

  9. Beth – I’m so glad you gave this challenge. I wasn’t going to participate this week, but you inspired me to get creative about it and now this is one of my favorite You Capture’s I’v done so far. Thanks! And I love you toaster. :)

  10. Hmmm…I just tried to leave a comment and it didn’t pop up. So my apologies if I end up commenting twice.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that although originally I wasn’t going to participate in this challenge, this morning I got inspired and decided to afterall. Now this week is one of my favorite You Capture’s that I’ve done so far! Thanks for the inspiration to get a little creative. :) And I love your toaster. Mine just broke. :(

  11. That is one spiffy toaster.

  12. Yelena says:

Great shot of your toaster :) Love this week’s challenge!

  13. Shelly says:

Great Toaster Shot! lol.. I do have to say this week is stumping me a little. I plan to go home today and attempt to take a picture of something technology related.. Somehow..

    :O)

  14. Very cool!

Once again, I FORGOT to do the challenge. I am leaving now and determined to get a shot before I return home.

    I’ll be back. ;p

  15. I never thought I would say this about a photo of a toaster, but…beautiful shot! I love the brightness of the blue light.

  16. Debra says:

    First. Love that toaster!
Second. Could you please delete my double link? Thx.

  17. Zak says:

I am having an issue with next week’s challange as Autumn because I currently have 9 inches of SNOW on my deck. Please don’t disqualify me because you think I don’t understand my seasons. Colorado is bipolar.

  18. AllisonO says:

I can honestly say I have never seen a toaster with a digital timer readout on it! Must be nice to not have to play jack-in-the-box with your bagel :) . Good capture!

  19. [...] See more amazing technology over at I should be folding laundry. [...]

  20. Mom at MusingsoftheSixties says:

What an amazing high-speed, Cusinart toaster. I love it; especially since I got your old one. Most importantly that picture is very artistic. And it’s not easy to be artistic with toaster technology, right?

  21. kyla says:

Oooooo . . . nice bit of technology there! What on earth would we do without it?!

  22. Destiny D says:

You have my toaster, Beth … in your house, the same toaster as me!

    Gotta have toast…

  23. This is my first time. I think I did it right.
My technology is really old – but I took some pics over the weekend at my parents cabin and they fit right in. Glad to have somewhere to share.

  24. Elaine says:

That’s one fancy toaster. I like it’s retro look too. And now I’m off to make me another piece of raisin toast…

  25. Jan says:

    Is that a Cuisinart toaster???

    OMG.

    Must.

    Have.

  26. Melissa says:

This has inspired me to do my first You Capture! :)
