You Capture – Real Life

November 11, 2009 | Filed Under you capture. | 50 Comments

So…how did it go?  Admittedly, I am fascinated with what you all have captured this week, I can’t wait to see.

I was a little on the boring side.  It’s okay, I can admit, but I took so many other photos this week, despite being sick, that I’m not going to get upset with myself about it.

This photo is my kitchen on Saturday morning after I started to feel a little better.  This was after I had cleaned for a little while (read: a LONG TIME.)  A mama being sick sure does take it’s toll on the house, doesn’t it?

And this was my view a few minutes ago.  I have been having some ligament pain, so I’m half laying down and half sitting up, it’s most comfortable sometimes.  I had just clicked on Crooked Eyebrow’s site because she put a picture up that I took of her and this was the photo I took.  Crooked Eyebrow’s blog AND my belly!

Your turn.  BUT PLEASE…PLEASE… read the directions. Last week there were many people that did not follow the directions and it was not fun for me.  Just take a second and read through, please.  Thanks!

  4. Saj says:

I so want your kitchen! Mine is laid out very much like yours (island, oven there, sink to the right). I want your countertops, and your modern cabinets… Sigh.

    Love the bump!

  5. i love it, because you, your bump and your computer are all so you. not to mention iy’s my blog in the shot that YOU designed.

First of all YES, you have taken some amazing photos this week. I’m so envious of these ladies, wishing I lived in your ‘hood too so you could take pics of my family, especially the baby…

I hope you all are well. I love the clorox wipes on the counter! HA!

And that belly, well it’s just beautiful!

  10. I love the baby bump, and I love your kitchen.

  12. I love the bump! And the kitchen.. I want it!

  13. That belly is too cute. And your kitchen looks like the perfect place for a party. Please invite me.

  14. Kira says:

Oh, I am feeling bad for you and your ligament pain right now! I dealt with round ligament pain during my 2nd pregnancy and it was not-so-much-fun. I’m guessing that is what you are dealing with by your mentioning your half sit/half lying down position. I remember it well!
Take good care of yourself, don’t over do it (I know, easier said than done!), and I hope you start feeling better soon!
That baby bump is beautiful! :)

  15. Janice says:

    Hello Beth,
I’m linking here for the first time. I had my post all ready last week and then didn’t link because you all went down with the flu. Because of that I somehow missed the prompt for this week and assumed you’d be carrying over the ‘anything goes’ prompt to this week. So apologies – mine doesn’t really fit with the theme. Will try to do better! In the meantime I do hope you and the family are feeling fully recovered after the flu. Your photo really does speak of the kitchen as the centre of a busy family life. Thanks for hosting.
    Janice.

  16. Janice says:

    Hi Beth,
I just tried to leave a comment and it didn’t show up. Apologies if this comes through twice. This is my first time linking through to you capture. I had a post all ready to link through last week but because you were ill obviously I couldn’t and so I assumed the ‘anything goes’ prompt from the previousl week would carry forward. So sorry – mine isn’t about my real life – although I do spend a lot of time walking the dog on the beach! Your photo speaks of the kitchen as the centre of a busy family life. I hope you are all fully recovered from the flu.
    Janice.

  17. Kathleen says:

Great pictures as always! I know what you mean about that kitchen mess. Saturdays always bring more mess sick or not because of a different schedule or hubby being home or something!

And I love your baby bump. <3

  26. What a beautiful belly. :) Fun shot.

Great challenge this week – the hardest part was deciding whether I should capture my mess or the crazies who live in it. :)

Love that belly! I have so many pregger pics from that view! Haha. I have Lysol wipes sitting on my counter too. Can’t imagine my kitchen without them. :)

I’d really like to join in this, but I’m confused as to how it works? So, a couple of questions.

    - You always post this on Wednesday, right? When you say “Next Week: sunrise/sunset” Does that mean that by the next Wednesday we should have the pictures of the sunrise sunset? Or we have until next week to do -this- challenge, and next week will begin the sunrise/sunset?

Apologies if I sound like an airhead. I’m a brunette but you’d never know it. =)

  35. Christie says:

I love the sunlight coming through your kitchen windows! How bright and cheerful! I also love the baby bump. It is so sweet, and yes, so very real. <3

“You Capture” is a lot of fun. Thanks for provding it! I miss my baby bump now. Of course I was more a mountain than a bump!

  41. I love how each person interupts You Capture slightly different.

I know I say this each week, but thank you for opening my eyes to see that beauty outside of the box.

  42. I just found your site and I’m lovin’ the challenge – thanks for hosting – I’ll be back soon!

  43. Anjie B. says:

I LOVE that your kitchen looks like mine after cleaning for a while. No matter how much I clean/tidy the counters, it always ends up looking the same (or worse) in the end. I loved this challenge, and realizing that almost everyone else has a similar “Real Life” to mine.

  44. Kellye says:

I’m a little late on this one but once I had the idea for the shot, I knew that I had to wait until the right moment to get it.

I am thankful for this particular theme. I was able to work through and share some of the thoughts going on in my head about working vs. staying at home. Check out my post if you get a chance. It’s my favorite You Capture so far.
