Handmade for the Holidays

I love shopping handmade.  My friends and I have made a decision this Holiday season to try our best to only buy handmade and let me tell you…if shopping is THIS fun…I can’t imagine seeing what they are gifting this year.  (let’s just say, it better be good.)

(I’m just kidding.)

(but I’m not.)

Seriously, I am kidding.*

Anyway, I have six products  and five shops I wanted to share with you today, four of the shops were chosen by my very stylish and saucy personal friends of mine who have amazing taste (especially in choosing friends *cough*.)  The other shop is a shop of my choice that I think everyone must check out and buy something for me.  or you know, your neighbor.  or a teacher!  a bus driver!  or me!  Whatever.

Also, this is a little funny to me, because I AM NOT CRAFTY but I plan to share a few handmade ideas of my own with all of you beauties over the next few days.  Things I KNOW you can do, too.   Just imagine inexpensive and simple.  (or cheap and easy.)

(disclaimer: if I suddenly do not post for a few days, it could very well because my sister is giving birth to her baby and she lives four hours away and I need to be there for the moment this baby enters this world because I need to cuddle and kiss it and spank it’s bottom as soon as possible.  You understand, right? Good.)

Behold the awesome:

handmade for the holidays

1.  Silhouette Thank You Cards Do I want these for Christmas?  YES, PLEASE.  $25 for a set of 16.  (handpicked by Lovelyn)

2.  Love birds Tea Towels I love tea towels, in fact, I have two that I purchased from an Etsy shop that I think are the cat’s meow.  If you don’t have one, you should try them, they are the best. $15  (handpicked by me.)

3.  Chyrsanthemum Hair Pin Garden OMGTHECUTE.  seriously, people.  Can you look at these pins and not yell at them for being so cute?  What’s that?  Only I yell at things when they are cute?  Well, you should start, it’s fun.  $8.50 (handpicked by Stephanie.)

4.  Be the Miracle This is such a fabulous statement, especially worn as a necklace.  $38 (handpicked by Erin.)

5.  Alphabet Print These prints are one of those things that hang on your walls in your kids’ room and you walk past it and it makes you happy.  I can just imagine holding our new baby in front of these prints and pointing out the letters.  *sigh.*  I love these.  (and you can get them personalized!) $25  (handpicked by Sarah.)

6.  Petal Pusher Just imagine this piece of fabulous-ness pinned to the front of your coat or a simple black dress.  DARLING.  $15  (handpicked by me.)

Happy shopping, friends.

*I’m not kidding.

The best part about this list is that I knew who handpicked what before I read the names. Makes me all warm and fuzzy.

    Love!

SO pretty! And I have to say those pins are my faves. They are even more cute in person.

I love this post and these items because they’re all so perfectly reflective of our tastes. And I also love this post because when you wrote (or cheap and easy.) I said, JUST LIKE YOU, out loud and then laughed at my immaturity.
TRUE STORY: I almost bought you a poppy pin, but then I bought you something else and now I am kind of second guessing my decision, except that I love the something else I bought you, so I think it’s okay.
(What’s not okay is that run-on sentence. YIKES.)

I think it is the fact that I am NOT crafty that makes this stuff even more amazing. Etsy is a dangerous place. :)

I’m going to assume the picks I sent were too hippy to make it on your blog? :)

    Love these though…

    How darling!

I will anxiously await the handmade things that you think anyone can do…and probably prove you wrong by being that person who can’t do any of that stuff.

    But, I’ll try!

I just recently started noticing how great handmade gifts are.

I have been perusing Etsy for days now, just drooling over the options.

I hope you know this inspired me to go handmade. And I did! Just last night I bought 5 things on Etsy, and I can’t wait to get them. A couple of them go to help adoptions, so I am super excited about them.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

Great picks! I just love, love, LOVE etsy. I’m trying to buy more and more things handmade. There are so many talented artists out there…and it’s nice to support entrepreneurs.

Also: my sister just had a baby on the 1st…a little red-headed baby girl! She’s just as beautiful as her mama. :)

I am trying to give and buy as much handmade as I can this year. I even got the kid’s holiday outfits this year off of Etsy. Love these picks, Beth!!
