If you’re new to You Capture, welcome! You Capture is a great place for anyone interested in photography to start focusing a little more with a different assignment each week. It’s so much fun. Anyone can join!
This week’s You Capture was Holiday Decor, I hope you had fun capturing the holiday festivities that surround you!
One of the shots I captured was of the cookies I made. I promise you, when I make cookies during Christmas, it feels like decor. Know what I mean?
This is one of my favorite recipes – and this link takes you to a recipe to make SEVEN dozen of these bad boys.

Last night we took the kids to see Santa, I love this shot, it’s SOOC (straight out of camera) and those are not my kids. I’m just the creepy lady who takes pictures of random people. Nice to meet you.

And here’s my kids walking towards Santa. They’re all like “hey Santa, how YOU doin’?”

On my mantle – a different angle.

On my porch -

and also on my porch. When the Kmart design team was over, the Chief Home Design officer encouraged me to put this shelf on my porch, it had been all dusty in my office. It’s funny because during the summer I almost sold it at my garage sale for three dollars, but now that it’s outside…I LOVE IT.
And you may notice that I only have one bird, that’s because one broke in October but I don’t want to talk about it.

Now it’s your turn! Please remember to READ THE RULES for linking up!

I have decided to take next week of from You Capture but here’s the thing, you should still take out your cameras because on December 30th we’ll be sharing TWO WEEKS worth of captures. What’s the challenge? YOUR HOLIDAY.
Don’t forget to take pictures of your loved ones! HAPPY HOLIDAYS, FRIENDS.
(and Happy Capturing!)

Love Anna and Noah walking toward Santa! Also love the shelf. I need something like that on my porch.
[...] Beth challenged us to take pictures of our favorite Christmas decorations for this week’s You Capture challenge, I’ll admit that I was bummed. I already did a very detailed photo post of our Fire Tree [...]
I take so many pictures of cookies it’s not funny. But how can you not? Those look SO GOOD. Beautiful shots, as usual! Love the berries on the mantel…
“I’m just the creepy lady who takes pictures of random people. Nice to meet you.” – LOL! Really really loud
Your decorations are beautiful. I love this week’s theme.
Hmm, maybe I need a shelf on the back porch/deck. (Our front porch doesn’t have any other room. Our firefighter guards the front door.)
I love your pictures. But now I want cookies!
I like to think you were the “creepy lady who takes pictures of random people” to make sure your camera settings are correct when your kids are up there! At least that’s what I tell myself when I do stuff like that! Love the cookie shot, and I LOVE the berries on your mantle!
Sorry to hear about the bird.
[...] 17, 2009 by Thea @ Im A Drama Mama I’m not one for a lot of decorating, so most of our Christmas decorations are pretty [...]

I would love to have a giant nutcracker like the one in the first picture. It would so be center stage in my living room!
I love the photo of the snowflake – lovely! And I think that since its such an awesome photo, its OK that you took a pic of someone else’s kids.
I look forward to seeing everyone decorations!
That cookie picture is just mean, Beth. MEAN! Because I am dying to reach into the screen and steal one. And I’m just too lazy to make 7 dozen today. I know it’s for my own good, but just once, I’d like to convert your gorgeous foody pictures from eye candy into REAL candy.
You are hilarious, and your pictures are gorgeous. You lead us well, as always.
I love that picture with Santa and those not being your kids. Too funny!
I love those wood snowflakes!! Where’d ya get ‘em, they are sooo cute!!
You have a great eye! I love the shot of the kids who aren’t yours!

Your decorations are so elegant!!! And you, of course, photograph them beautifully.

Your blog is making me gain weight. Just FYI.
i love that on your porch. sorry about the birdie. =(
i tried to take pictures today and they were all gay. no the most PC thing to say, but there you have it.
These are without a doubt the best pictures I’ve seen since I’ve started following! Precious! Have a great Holiday!
I love that shelf outside. That Santa looks like a good one. I never know the rules on taking pictures of strangers. It’s something I would do more often if it’s not against some code of ethics I don’t know about. Strangers can be very interesting!

In all seriousness, though…I love that photo of your children heading up to see Santa!
I accidentally entered the wrong URL at first. Hopefully my 2nd attempt worked. Loving the holiday pictures
Oh you’re so brave to take shots of other people’s kids. I always feel soooo creepy doing it, probably because I know how I’d feel if they were mine. That being said, AWESOME photo with the santa!
I love your photos this week, great perspective on all of them. I think your kids walking toward Santa is my favorite, he looks a little serious though.
Beautiful shots…love the berries!
I giggled at the one of the kids walking towards Santa…looks like he’s gonna get a beat down!

I love the kids walking up to Santa, what a neat picture! I just found your site and You Capture recently and love it!
I kinda missed the point by linking though…in seeming how it’s holiday decor where my link is more for your next You Capture, “Your Holiday”, and doesn’t have You Capture anywhere in the post that I linked! I’ll get the hang of it though!
