Saturday Morning Coffee
ByOne of my favorite things I do on this blog are my posts called “Friday Morning Coffee.” I feel like I’m sitting with friends and just chatting with them. I hope you feel that, too. Because you are my friends, I’m serious.
Well, the past few Fridays and the next few Fridays, I have appointments with my chiropractor, so Friday Morning Coffee posts are becoming a little tricky. Because, you know, I’m not home.
So, today is Saturday and here I sit with a cup of coffee, brewed and delivered to my couch by my wonderful husband. It’s actually 11:31 in the morning, so it’s barely morning but I woke up at 9:54 today, so it’s MY morning. The kids stayed at Grandma’s last night so my sleeping in was brought to you by Grandma & Grandpa.
Last night, my parents came over to help us paint a bedroom. Not the nursery (yet…soon…SO SOON) but Noah’s room. For his birthday he asked for his room to be painted green. We just moved into this house 18 months ago and when we moved we attempted to paint his room green but when I painted a swatch on the wall it was the most disturbing color of green I had ever seen. So disturbing that I considered lobbying to congress to have the color removed from all color wheels everywhere.
So, rather than paint his room that color, we painted his room blue. He was kind of upset but he’s Noah so he was equally passive about it. However, many times he mentioned wanting a green room. So, for his birthday this year, we bought him a can of paint. Seriously, it was wrapped and everything.

Last night, the kids stayed at Grandma’s so my parents came over and helped Brian and I paint Noah’s room green. We knocked it out in like two and half hours, no lie and it looks perfect. (we also ordered Mexican take out and that was perfection, too.) (I switched to Sherwin Williams paint and it covered Noah’s dark-ish blue room in one coat and hardly a touch up. I will never buy paint from anywhere else again. Also? The paint was $30, also? We have a lot of paint leftover and also? They did not ask me to write about their paint.)
{isn’t it interesting the way it looks like two different greens?} {it’s not.}
Anyway, they will be home tonight and he is going to be so surprised to see his beautiful errr…I mean, handsome green room! And Anna, well, we don’t want her to feel left out, so I bought her the most beautiful pink blanket you have ever seen. Her room is the coldest room in the house and little girl is always cold at night, so, this blanket, she will love.

But before they get home, Brian and I are going on a lunch date WITH DESSERT, we are shopping for nursing bras and nursing and name books and maybe slip on shoes because my belly is the size of your Thanksgiving turkey and bending over is well, sweaty. And next weekend? We are painting the baby’s room, because friends? Today? I am 31 weeks. OH MY GOD.
I love 31 weeks. (We had an ultrasound on Wednesday, according to measurements taken, our little nameless baby weighed in at 3 pounds 14 ounces, just slightly bigger than your average baby!)

You are beautiful, and every time you type the word chiropractor, I smile gleefully.
Oh, and fill me in on your dessert, k? I love you.
I would like you to know that both my office and my livingroom are painted that TERRIBLE shade of green. I have begged my husband to repaint and he says, not until it starts chipping. It hasn’t but will soon because I am going to pay my kids to start picking at it
Your belly makes me long to be pregnant again but seriously I think 3 is enough for us.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your time!!
You are lovely. Hope your lunch and shopping with the hubs is good. You have a nice Grandma and Grandpa.
Bri
Beth, you are beautiful. Enjoy your quiet lunch (and dessert) and the shopping too! Slip on shoes are a must have after 30 weeks.
I’m joining you with your Saturday Morning Coffee… Only it’s not morning here. It’s not even afternoon.
It’s 8 in the evening. My boys are tucked in bed. My husband is off getting to know the guy in his new shop… And I’m snuggled in- watching the snow fall, drinking a coke, and eating a toasted bagel.
It might come as a surprise, but I love green. Love, love green. The wall color of your son’s room makes me smile.
And your belly pictures, they’re just beautiful.
Oh I love green paint…and that’s so sweet to get Anna a blanket too! So excited to watch your belly grow!
Oh my love, you rock my world! I am SO excited for you and that belly is just beyond beautiful.
So happy for you that you got a good night’s sleep. You totally deserve it!
Seth has a green wall in his room. It is like the color of grass, I love it but couldn’t do a whole room in it
How fun! He’s going to be so excited to see his room, don’t forget to tell us about it!
Beautiful belly! Hope you enjoyed the dessert and the date, and slip on shoes are totally a must. I still only wear some form of slip-ons (flip flops being my favorite!) whenever possible – and my daughter is nearly two!
Lovely green you chose! Um, could I borrow your parents to come paint my house?
Love the paint can gift! I painted my sons roon the Disney Behr “Sage Green”…and it looks great. There are pics on my blog if you have not seen the colour!
Shane
What a beautiful belly!
Sometimes I miss those pregnancy days…but I don’t miss the discomfort, the constant need to pee, etc. But I do miss the baby belly.
Enjoy every moment. Hope your little guy loves his new green room, too!
So beautiful! Everything is. This post is like a series of precious little gifts.
Love the green! It’s the same color we painted our nursery when we moved in here. I made black and white bedding and curtains and loved that room. With vintage pictures from children’s books in black frames and Landon’s 3 month increment portraits! *sigh* But alas, now it’s time to move everyone around and we’ll be painting again. Every single room upstairs!!!
I can not wait to see what you do with the nursery! 9 weeks!!! I love the countdown time.
Yay for 31 weeks, Bath – your belly looks lovely! My niece is due right about the same time as you. Also a little boy – they’re naming him Jackson. My first time as “great-aunt” -can’t wait!!
I love this post but it was no great surprise because I got to be involved in it. And that was great!
But when I got to the belly shots (even though we were with you last night), tears came in my eyes and chills covered my body. The chills and tears are still there as I type because I love 31 weeks too! Thank God for 31 weeks and your beautiful belly!
Mexican takeout and Saturday dessert sound almost as lovely as the serene green bedroom!
Your day sounds perfect! Glad you got some rest AND lunch with dessert. Yay!
That is a great birthday present, lucky little one!
We actually just finished the nursery at my home! I actually posted pictures a few posts back. Im what now 34 weeks and a little jealous of your cute little belly!
Seriously, those belly shots make me so stinkin’ happy. Just beautiful!
I hope he likes his room! That’s awesome!
I absolutely LOVE that last photo of you! Enjoy 31 weeks.
I love the baby bump pics!
What a wonderful belly! Love it.
What a fun night with your parents and a relaxing morning/day with Brian. The room looks great…Noah will love it! And, of course, your belly is beautiful. Hip hip hooray for 31 weeks
So much fun going on in your home! Thank you for sharing this exciting time in your life! I can’t wait to hear the name you pick for your new little man and really looking forward to pictures of your nursery!
I love painting! I can’t wait for spring so I can tackle the kitchen (have to scrap wallpaper first…stinky work when using remover.). The green is very handsome, nice choice!
I LOVE the belly. Baby Bellies are the best things ever.
Love Noah’s green room and your darling belly.
31 weeks already?! That little nameless baby is going to be here so soon! I love it!
Love the green color, too. My living room, coat, favorite sweater, & a ton of other things are all shades of green. Apparently it’s my favorite color now that I think about it. I hope Noah loved his room & Anna loved her blanket!
You know, I have a very stretchmarked belly – and I never too shots of it, you know, bare.
I realizing now that it could have been beautiful…
Pretty mama.
Love the green, love the blanet (seriously, where can I get one?) and LOVE the belly. Seriously, you rock that beautiful baby belly girl!! Don’t fret, at 34 weeks, they did an ultrasound and assured me that Caroline would be my biggest baby yet and mentioned that I may need to be induced in order for her to fit through my pelvic bones. She came out on her own at 38 weeks (same time that my other two were born) and was a whopping 6 lbs 12 oz…smallest of my three babes.
really, 1 coat paint!! I love it! I am in with Sherwin!! Your baby belly is adorable and you are so amazing and beautiful!! Love this post!
I’m so glad he got his green room! And I love these belly shots.
Steph
The green, the pink and the BLUE… all wonders of the universe! Love this post so much… all the joy, the swirling colors, the LOVE! xo!
Yea for 31 weeks!
My boys have a green room also. It is a nice, versatile color, should we ever choose to actually decorate the room.
My baby boy will not have a nursery to paint/decorate because he will be sleeping in our large, walk-in closet until he is big enough to share a room with his brothers. That is mostly a good thing, but I kind of wish I had a room to decorate. I will at least buy him his own special blanket.
I hope you enjoyed your dessert. Dessert is often the best part of eating out, in my opinion.
Loved the green! My January 21st boy wanted a green room too but we painted it blue…last weekend. Weird! Enjoy your day, sounds just lovely!
I love the color of Noah’s room! He will love it! I am so excited that you are 31 weeks! Can’t wait to “meet” your new little guy!
I love the color. The 2nd photo showing it darker looking is what I painted my kitchen and I LOVE it!
Such a pretty belly and I love that you are sharing the pics with us. I can’t believe you are 31 weeks, because it seems like just yesterday you were announcing that you were expecting.
Sounds like a lovely way to spend a weekend! 31 weeks sounds wonderful. Congratulations!
I love his room
and your belly is just gorgeous, like you.
I was 3 lbs 14 oz when I was born! I was 6.5 weeks early.
Beth,
You are so beautiful girl! I love yor belly…it is so making me want to get pregnant again…and that green is great…would you mind sharing what color it is? Blessings on you and that new little one…we’ll be praying for you!
What great belly pics! Congrats on reaching 31 weeks and continuing to rock the projects at home! I can’t believe it has been almost 2 weeks since I had Violet but I insanely posted my morning of belly pics and my post prego belly pics. I wish mine were as pretty as yours. It’s so close now I can’t wait to see pics off the baby!
it hasn’t even been 6 days and here you are making me miss my pregnant belly.
but …
baby pictures … and the smell of new baby hair and that little newborn cry and fingers and toes … babies are just so nice to have around. it’s worth the missing of the pregnant belly.
