I had never been to Wisconsin before. I never thought that was a big deal until I told my friends “I had never been to Wisconsin before.” Apparently Wisconsin is a big deal…I had no idea.
That’s where Cupcake 10 was held. What’s Cupcake 10? Cupcake 10 is the brain child of Heather of the EO (the one almost kissing mah belly up top there) and Stephanie. They wanted a blog get together that wasn’t a blog conference, there was no talk of SEO and very little talk of advertising and HOW DO I SELL MY BLOG? HOW DO I INCREASE READERSHIP? It was more like “hey, tell me your story.” or “I love your blog and I’m so happy to finally meet you.” or “can I kiss your belly?” or “Who made the oreo truffles?” (the answer to the oreo truffle question would be Kim.)
That sort of thing.

{this is Allison of O My Family with her son. HIS EYES? OHMYGOD.}
It was so laid back and beautiful and inexpensive. We all brought food for a potluck, we woke up in the morning, in a beautiful cabin in the country, in our pajamas, we drank coffee, ate fruit and bagels and cookies (and okay, cupcakes) and we had no make-up on, no laptops to shield us from everyone around us. It was just us.
And it was just so good.

{this is Brianne. Brianne = amazing. No lie.}
I have a feeling there will be more Cupcakes to come, not just in our area but in all parts of the country and that is a very, very good thing.
Oh and why is Cupcake 10 called Cupcake 10?
Because I named it, that’s why.

Oh and this girl? Erin? Is the best roomie ever.

Great recap! Wow! You make me want to do mine over!!! Sorry I missed out on the coffee and no make-up in the morning. Next time!
p.s. great name, Cupcake!
This is a really great rundown!
It was so awesome to see you again…and the belly!
btw…the name cupcake couldn’t be more appropriate, kudos for the creation of it!
Great re-cap Beth. As I said on Steph’s post, I didn’t realize how different Cupcake was from other blogging events because I’m so new at this, this was my first blog get-together. Hearing from you girls who have been at this longer make me appreciate the weekend even more.
I’m so glad for the chance to meet you (and the others), I only wish I had gotten more time to chat with you. And rub your belly.
It’s so touching to me that you included the part about me being a great roomie without any prompting from me whatsoever.
Oh, and it’s not that Wisconsin is a big deal, it’s just that it’s really only three hours from us and hasn’t everyone in the tri-state area been to Wisconsin Dells at some point in their life? Everyone but BETH, apparently, which the Wisconsin board of tourism should adopt as their new ad campaign.
Sounds SO lovely and fun! You all are overloading my feed reader though! I had many of these on it already but now I am clicking away and subscribing as I go. I could not keep up with the reader before – whatever shall I do now???
I am SO jealous! I don’t live anywhere near Wisconsin so I couldn’t come. I guess that means I have to be the one to initiate a Cupcake 10 South East version? I’d be so nervous about no one showing up. I want to know how you thought this up and executed such a great idea.
Where have I been? And why didn’t I know about this? Not that I could have gone to Wisconsin, but still… I’m kind of jealous. The list of bloggers that got together is amazing. There are many on that list that I’d have loved to meet. Can we have an east coast one? That would be cool.
Looks like so much fun, and a relaxing calm enjoy the company type of weekend! Glad it turned out so well, the Inn looks amazing!
It was so much fun, wasn’t it?
I think it should be done quarterly. A girl could use that time every few months.
Love you cupcakes!
What an interesting event! I’m so glad you went and I’m especially happy that this positive experience was also relaxing and fun.
This sounds like a blast!
This sounds like so much fun!
Looks and sounds like it was an amazing time! So glad you guys had that
So what you’re sayin’ is there were some of my favorite bloggers (and women!) wearing pajamas, a cracklin’ fire, bellies, babies, a POTLUCK, and cupcakes? All within 2 hours of my front door? OHMYWOOOOOORD. It’s time I got my head back in the game. Sigh.
It sounds delightful. When and where are Cupcake 11 that I might get myself registered NOW?
Glad you had fun, Beth!
That sounds like the kind of blog group I want to meet! How very fun and what a great idea for a “conference”. If you do one more towards the East Coast, I wanna come
Even better if you do one in NC, so I could drive…..:)
I’m so relieved that you didn’t mention that I licked your belly right then.
KIDDING PEOPLE.
That’s just gross.
Beth, I’m so glad you were there. I just love you.
I’m having a hard time commenting now, because I just want to write you a novel. Or come over and watch your belly move and laugh at baby names like Nunu.
It wouldn’t have been the same without you, not even close. Also, it wouldn’t have nearly as cool a name, so thank goodness you were willing to make your first trip to that far off exotic land named Wisconsin.
That first picture is just fantastic.
Great summary–you really captured the feeling of the weekend.
Thanks for the linkage!
Ann
This is a perfect recap.
And Wisconsin is a VERY big deal. So come back, okay?
xo
I think my comment got eaten. Did my comment get eaten? I am having such a hard time with the Internet today. The Internet hates me. Period.
Wait, what were we talking about? Oh, YOU. How I adore you, am so glad to have finally met you, wish I’d had more time with you, loved your recap post, and, also, yes, Wisconsin is a VERY big deal. So come back.
xo
Wow! Sounds like an amazing time!
What I would have given to be part of a group like that!
I’m new here.
Did my reply go through?
I’m so sorry if this is a duplicate!
Okay, now that sounds like a bloggers’ convention I could get behind! I feel very out of touch for having never attended BlogHer or knowing much about it, but it seems so commercialized. I just want to be part of a community. Cupcake 10 sounds like a winner.
no you didn’t link to me anyways?? how awesome are you? i mean i fell in love with you in the kitchen, but now this? thanks friend.
hope the belly is well.
I love seeing all the pictures from Cupcake 10. I hope there’s a neat blogging get together like this sometime that I will be able to attend. I think I would really like that more than a big blogging conference…I’m more interested in the people of blogging than the business of blogging.
looks like fun!!
It WAS an amazing weekend! I can hardly wait for the next one!
Amazing? Really?
Loved loved loved our chat. Thank you for your kindness.
And Wisconsin? It rocks! Sort of. Please come back and visit us.

I was born in Wisconsin and lived there for years and years and never went to the Dells! I’ll be heading up there in two weeks for a scrapbooking retreat, so maybe I should go to the Dells.:) Also, please tell me you stopped at a store with either a big mouse or a big block of cheese and bought some cheese curds?!
Awwwwwwww! how gorgeous! I WANNA CUPCAKE! I don’t see why the Texas mamas couldn’t get together and cupcake somehow. Hmmmmm.
It looks like it was so much fun! I was so interested in going, especially seeing as you were all about an hour away from my home! I just have a hard time working into a new group sometimes. Maybe the next Cupcake?
From everything I’ve read, you ladies had a wonderful time.
I wish I lived closer so I could come too. MB
I wish I lived closer I would love to come. MB
I’m so impressed that someone would come up with that and pull it off!
Sounds like a fun ladies weekend…and i love the name of it “Cupcake 10″ so clever, looks like you guys had a relaxing weekend…and i love the pic of Heather kissing your belly…GREAT photo!
That looks like a blast! I should have gone.
It was wonderful to meet you:) Come back to Wisconsin anytime!!
I am so glad you had a good time!! It looks and sounds like a blast!
It sounds like a super fun time. I LOVE the name : ) Very cute!
Love it! Sounds much more personal & more fun than those “sell your blog” meetings!
And that little boy’s eyes made me “aw” out loud.
That is totally my kind of “bloggy” get together. Maybe next year I can come?
Nell
Wow that sounds like it was loads of fun and a nice change from the normal blogging get togethers. Can’t wait to check out the sites you listed.
Sadie at heymamas
See now that? That is a bloggy get together I could totally embrace!!! What’s not to love about cupcakes, cozy cabins and lovely women?! So glad to hear the rundown, Beth. Kinda gets me thinking about helping to host one here in Vermont some day. Hmmm…
I think I forgot to comment on this post when I first read it. So…
First of all, that belly of yours is GORGEOUS and that photograph at top is so COOL!
And also, I’m so emotional that I was geographically inconvenient to attend this awesome retreat. I so wish I could have. It sounds just perfect and wonderful. I AM however, so very glad for all of you stupendous ladies that did get to attend and share your time and hearts together. Absolutely fabulous.
And, I also wish I was geographically convenient to rub that beautiful belly. You know, with your permission and all…
oh how FUN.
You take beautiful pictures.
Cupcake10 sounds like absolute perfection! I’d love to attend next year’s… unfortunately so far it looks like I might have to organize my own European version of cupcake!
