You Capture – Colors

January 28th, 2010

Hi friends!

Did you have some luck capturing colors?  I guess I did except I did not make it outside because of all of the freezing temperatures and whatnot.

So, I looked indoors and I did find some color.

I found this color photo at my daughter’s birthday party. *cupcakesmadefromscratch.*

birthday girl

A few hours before the party I decided to reupholster our barstools, they looked like someone had dropped ice cream, chip dip, milk and Dr. Pepper all over them.  Oh wait….that is what happened to them.

So, rather than buying new barstools, my sister and I headed to the fabric store and bought the most beautiful fabric ever.  The only thing that would make me happier is if I knew how to turn this fabric into a beautiful tablecloth.  But that requires a sewing machine and not a staple gun so I guess I’m out of luck.

And not so close-up:

birdy barstools

and of course you can’t have a party without sprinkles, can you?  You can? Oh.

sprinkles

So, those are my color shots!  I can’t wait for you to share yours and now it’s YOUR TURN!  Please make sure you read the guidelines before participating.  If you are new here, WELCOME!  And if you’d like to join in but are too shy, don’t be shy, we are all friends here, we love seeing new faces and new photos!  Join us!

next-week

FACES!

Get up close and show us some cute, handsome, stubbly, soft-skinned, furry, adorable, beautiful faces!  Even yours, if you’d like!

HAPPY CAPTURING, FRIENDS!

I love the sprinkles! And great job on the bar stools! I re-covered some chairs this year and its amazing what a difference a staple gun and a few yards of fabric can do!

Oooh, what great color shots! Love the sprinkles. And three cheers for you for homemade cupcakes! We’re having my daughter’s 3rd birthday brunch this weekend, & I’m very excited about making her cake. I’ve never understood why people buy those insipid, fake-tasting cake mixes when cakes are so easy to make from scratch, and taste so much better!

PLEASE tell me you’re kidding. PLEASE tell me that you are not so organized, your house is not so clean, you are not so stress-free that just hours before a party at your house, you are RUNNING TO THE FABRIC STORE AND RECOVERING YOUR BARSTOOLS. Oh good grief!!! I feel more pathetic than ever!!! :P

I’m not sure but I think it’s possible to use stitch witchery to make that into a table cloth. I am sans sewing machine too and I used it to add ribbon to Baby K’s valances over her window. It’s just iron on and I’m pretty sure it could create a “hem” as well. Just an idea b/c I love that fabric too and I want you to have your tablecloth! : ) And yes, MUST have sprinkles for party!

P.S. I found color outside, come see if you get a chance!

There is NO way anyone could have a party without sprinkles. No WAY! I love the colors in the fabric. There are so many decorating options you could pull from it. Can’t believe you reupholstered those stools hours before a party. I’d have been too stressed to even think about it!

Hi! I had trouble with post. I am not sure if this is me, of there is a general issue…
    1. I did not see Mr Linky on the page for posting
    2. The page loaded very slowly. In fact I thought it was missing the bottom of the post because I did not see it for 45 seconds. The status line said “loading data from PayPal” . Then I switched to another window to do something else, and when I came back the rest of the page was displayed, but no Mr. Linky. I tried with Mozilla and IE.

I could not figure out how to post… so
Here is my entry for color:
