You Capture – Love around your home

Happy You Capture!

Did you all have a good week?  We had a good and very busy week which led me to finally take my You Capture photos just this morning.  I would say I’m a slacker but instead I’ll give myself a break and just say that I was just too darn busy!

I love this week’s topic and although it was hard for me to choose, I decided to take a certain angle, one that allowed me to focus on something rather than showing you 100 photos from all over my house.  I did it for you, I promise.

I chose birds.  I love birds, I love their symbolism, I love that when I see two together, I think that James and Jake are sending me a message to breathe and remember.  (happened just yesterday while driving – it was a welcomed sign!)

Here are just a few birds around my house.

On my porch.

It’s your turn to share your treasures around your home!  Please remember to read the guidelines.  I’m seeing that one of the most popular reasons for me to delete a link is that it seems is that a few of you aren’t linking directly to your You Capture post but to your blog.  So, please be aware!

You can read the rest of the guidelines here.

I love birds, too. These are lovely.

  3. 3

I love those brown glossy ones on your porch!

Have you ever heard about Korean Wedding Ducks? I’ve heard stories from other military wives who have been stationed in Korea… It’s a tradition when you get married, you are given two birds… and if there is harmony in the house, they face each other on the shelf… if Mama ain’t happy, she can turn hers around…

I love that all of yours are facing each other! :)

I must say, that after reading your blog for so long, when I see two birds I think of James and Jake too. Which is amazing to me since I don’t even “know” you in “real” life. But I always think it’s an amazing thing and that if I was their Mom I would love that people thought of them so I try to just smile and remember that.

    Teri says:

This is my first week participating in “You Capture”! I’ve seen several friends post different things, and I just love the idea. I’m not a great photographer, maybe not even a good photographer, but I love taking pictures. I hope this will help me focus in on one thing and perhaps get better. I think it already has, I found myself thinking about compostion more, and how to frame what I wanted to “say”. Thanks for doing this and inspiring others to pick up the cameras and not only get better, but have fun doing it! Blessings to you!!

    Laura says:

I’ve looked at the posts from You Capture for a while now so I decided this week I’d join in. I love birds too! We have quite a few in our home. I especially love the pretty white birds on your mantle.

I chose to capture tokens of our faith around our apartment. All the many blessings we have come from this.

    Thanks!
