This is a painful topic for me considering I do not enjoy winter and also while pregnant walking around in 12 inches of snow is never, ever smart. So, I got creative.
and took photos while driving, just this morning because the sun was out and it was above freezing for the first time since Christmas Day. I can’t get over how the cold and I are just not friends. (Mom, I wasn’t actually driving, I stopped the car and then took the photos, I promise.)
But, on the upside…I do enjoy photographing the snow, that beautiful, diabolical snow.
First, this photo was taken in Wisconsin where the sun was shining the entire time we were there. Maybe I should be there?

Of course, I was inside looking out. because…BRRR.
Now onto today’s photos:

and finally, it wouldn’t be a post without me posting a photo of food, am I right or am I right? So, my wintry comfort food is my world famous Chicken Noodle Soup. Which isn’t really famous at all, but it is delicious and so easy to make. I’ll be sharing the recipe with you very, very soon.

That’s it from me, friends! Now it’s your turn to share!
PLEASE READ THE RULES RIGHT HERE. I actually had to delete links last week because the links weren’t linked properly and that made me so sad because I love links. So, read ‘em. K?

Love around your home.
I had this moment the other day, where I was walking around upstairs and looking at things and it took me a second to realize that I often think about how I love certain things. For instance, my son’s blanket and this particular bird on my shelf and these plates that my sister-in-law bought for me. There is so much that surrounds me that actually fills me with joy, so I want you to share it with all of us. What you love, what fills you with joy but remember…GET CREATIVE with your photography. Try new angles and different perspectives, edit the photos differently, make these everyday items into ART.
You can…I promise you can.
Happy Capturing!

I’m with you 152% on the cold. At least you have snow to look at! The majority of our snow is gone and all that’s left is the dirty grey stuff. Fun.
I am in LOVE with your second photo!!!! OMG that is gorgeous! Wow.
So winter in Tacoma WA is pretty much cold (but not freezing) and rainy/wet. Blah.
But I walk my boy to school everyday, I’ll bring my camera and see if I can get some cool wet stuff.
Thank you for clarifying that you were not actually driving. Had me concerned.
I love the wash you put on these photos – very wintery. Thanks, as always, for hosting!
Love your captures, as usual. Can’t wait for the soup recipe. It looks delish!
Love your photos…you make Winter look so pretty!
And that chicken soup looks so YUMMY!!!
What beautiful winter captures! And I will always talk about how wonderful Wisconsin is, but do not be deceived. The sun is not a frequent presence during the winter here! You just came here on a good weekend. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself!
Beautiful! I love snowy landscape pictures. TFS!
Thanks for the challenge, Beth! I had fun trying to get some winter shots and I got some fresh air to boot! I’m in love with your second photo, by the way

Wow, those photos are gorgeous! If only snow was as fun as it was pretty.
Oh the soup goes perfectly with freezing, snowy weather and it sounds delicious right now, at 11:30 p.m.!
You chicken noodle soup looks so num. More noodles than broth. The best!
Your photos are beautiful!
I’m going to cheat a little this week and head you all on over to my 365 blog under the tag of ‘snow’ where you can catch up on all my very wintery shots so far! Hope that’s OK Beth, but it saves reposting a bunch!
Forgot to say (HOW could I!) that your wintery scene’s are beautiful
!!
Oh how I love winter. (Please don’t hate me)
Your pictures are so beautiful and I’m so excited to join You Capture for the first time.
Thank you!
I love the first one through the window. You can just picture yourself looking out the window in wonder if the beauty of nature.

I just love winter, and I just love all your photos. Snow is such a beautiful thing, we don’t get snow where I live, but I would love to.
Well as it is Summer here in Australia I did my You Capture for Summer, I hope that is ok.
You make me feel like such a hack! Your pictures are great. I love the chicken and noodles, my winter featured chicken and dumplings.
I had to cheat a little too being that our winter was mid-year.
Hmmm, maybe I should have done a summer one too. : )
Looking forward to this next one!
I cheated a little as our winter is mid-year but hmmm, maybe I should do a summer one too just because!
Looking forward to the next challenge!
We hardly ever get snow–just cold and blech–so my oldest & I have been glorying in the snow. Of course, it’s now mostly gone, but anyway…
Thanks again for hosting such a fun way for us all to get to know one another and appreciate each others abilities and creativeness!
I absolutely love the photo with the electrical tower in it. Gorgeous.
I loved how you challenged me this week, Beth! it got me out in the fresh COLD air
I am in love with your second picture, by the way!
Me and the cold are so not friends either!! Gorgeous shots! I like the one with the power lines. It seems so…I don’t know…lonely.
Just wanted to let Alita from damainiacs know that her comments aren’t working but that I LOVED her editing on her photos! She makes winter look pretty!
I just love the effects you create on your photos. Beautiful.
(I hope it’s okay that I used a post I already had up of winter shots. Call it kismet. I’m a little under the weather and not likely to be going outside with a camera today.)
That first photo is cool, but I really like the second!
Winter is so stupid, but you managed to make it pretty.
Next week will be good for me, I think.
LOVE the (third) shot with the sun in it! How did you get the sun to do that cool trick for you?
I think your photos look really raw and gritty…which is to say awesome!
I always love your pictures and look forward to you capture each week!
Sun Flare = Love.
Your second picture is like a moment in time that I want to live personally.
I loathe winter, too. Great shots though!
GORGEOUS pictures!!!
Well next time you come to Wisconsin, let me know! I love your weekly themes here, have a great day there Beth!
I’ll be happy to eat some of that chicken noodle soup while looking out the windows at the scenes in your photos. Very interesting and beautiful photos especially the sun’s rays in the third capture.

Awesome snow photos without getting cold – even better!
I’m so ready for summer.
Great shots…I’m right there with ya on not liking winter very much. I enjoy about one instance of snow and then I’d like for it to melt, very quickly, and not come back until next year.
I probably wouldn’t tolerate winter at all if it weren’t for Christmas.

I love that third photo…it gave me wintery chills!
Can’t wait for the soup recipe! Soup is my all-time favorite winter meal. A delicious, warm soup with a big hunk of warm, crusty bread…mmmmmmmm!
“First, this photo was taken in Wisconsin where the sun was shining the entire time we were there. Maybe I should be there?”
ha ha ha says this lady from Wisconsin, who’d rather be anywhere else.
Actually, I take that back – I can’t really complain since it’s been above freezing lately, which means thesnowisactuallymeltingdon’tbemadatmeplease.
At any rate, the photo you took of Wisconsin is beautiful!
I tried taking bird pictures but mine looked like a big blur of bird, not as pretty as yours, LOL. I just posted mine (my first, yay!) Better late than never I suppose! Thanks for the linky!
Love the one of the sun! You are lucky to have seen the sun….we don’t get too many really sunny days here in UT. Can’t wait for you to share your chicken noodle soup recipe, yum!
These photos are fabulous. That soup looks so good.
Steph
I especially like your sunburst! Thanks for continuing to do these!
