Look at the stars

March 20th, 2010

I have this new love and appreciation for the color yellow.  It’s colorful outlook, it’s ability to brighten any moment, it’s perfect placement.

My blog is going to be redesigned soon, I hope you’ll see some yellow in it.  Okay, I know you’ll see some yellow in it.

Since I’m 40 years pregnant and I wanted to relax today, I sat on the couch and window-shopped at Anthropologie.  My eye consistently was drawn to the yellows.

happy yellow

Happy Spring.

{and yes, Happy Spring even though it’s 30 degrees outside with a cold wind and a light sprinkle.)

But still … IT’S SPRING!

I’m a fan of yellow as well. I wish I had a better skin tone to pull off all the pretty yellow spring/summer tops.

I can’t wait to see your new design. Everytime I go to pick paint it’s all yellow but I can’t paint everyroom yellow!!!!

Backwards it’s wolley and even that is adorable.

Yellow is my favorite color. I always think of daisies and that line from You’ve Got Mail about daisies being the friendliest flower. Yea for yellow and yea for Spring (wherever she is)!

You should add some yellow to your wardrobe for post-baby! Think of how refreshed it will make you feel, even if you haven’t been able to shower in 3 days!

I know — yellow — it’s hard to resist it these days. I haven’t been bold enough to incorporate it into my home, but I clip out pics of yellow punches all the time. Then I chicken out in real life. But, hey, one can dream. And dreaming in yellow is a pleasant place to be.

I used to say that orange was my least favorite color, but eventually the qualities that it shares with yellow won me over and I even let my husband talk me into painting my kitchen cabinets orange.

when we moved into our house so much of it was painted yellow. and i kept thinking “that’s gonna have to change at some point.”
and yet? the yellow stays. not because i’m lazy or too busy. but because the yellow is so bright and cheery. and makes even the greyest of days seems better.

I wish I could wear yellow – I love the color. I’m way too pale for it, though. So I have to be content with someday having a bright yellow kitchen with a pale blue ceiling and huge windows to let in all the sunlight.

Oh, I love this! Our wedding colors were pink and yellow because yellow makes me so.very.happy. As does Anthropologie. When you’re not 40 years pregnant anymore, we should go to Anthropologie (and the wine store).

The first ‘nursery’ I ever prepared was yellow. It was a lovely sunny room and I painted it yellow & orange with clowns all over place. I loved that room. I even made curtains (the only time I’ve ever done that) and a duvet cover to match. I still remember it fondly. Strangely enough, not by choice but in our current home my eldest and youngest boys both have yellow rooms again ~ and I still like it :D

I can’t decide if I like daffodils because they are yellow an the first spring flowers or if I like yellow because daffodils are yellow.
Either way, it’s my favorite color and they are my favorite flower. :)

Barry and I used paint in every room in our house, but we wallpapered our kitchen yellow. It is a historic design… a buttery yellow with a white motif. I LOVE IT. Every morning. Every afternoon. Every night. I LOVE IT! It makes me happy and peaceful and inspired. Yellow is beautiful!!
