Before Elijah was born, I envisioned many photo shoots with him.
But then.
I came home from the hospital and I was tired.
My body hurt from the c-section.
and I was tired. and then I was REALLY tired.
I’m sad that I’ve missed the first two weeks of taking pictures of my sweet little newborn, but that’s okay … I’ve got a lifetime ahead of me to make up for it.

This wonderful orange set was made by Stephanie. I love it. I think Eli loves, too.

Newborns are so sweet but so tiring. Recovering from childbirth is tiring too. This picture is ADORABLE so you have started the lifetime of adorable pictures right now. Nicely done!
(and nice job Steph!)
Love the outfit! I have been on an orange kick lately so I am sporting it today as well!
Oh he is so precious.
Oh how I remember those days of being exhausted all.the.time.
Now I am just plain tired all.the.time.
Hang in there sweetie – it gets better!
And oh what a joy that little boy is! How adorable and just plain sweet!
Congratulations!
Alyssa
Oh my gosh, he’s so cute!!
Oh beth, I felt the same way when Eden was born.
But Mr. Eli is just so perfect I can’t wait to see more photos
(and see him again)
That is just TOO precious! : ) What a sweet boy you have there. And I remember that tired all too well. It takes quite some time to get back to ‘normal’, whatever that is! ; )
absolutely precious!!!
Absolutely precious!!
Simply gorgeous – and a belated congratulations on your newest family member – he is pure delight. Hope you are feeling wonderful!
He is gorgeous! A belated congratulations on your newest addition! He is pure delight…hope you are wonderful!
Nommm Nommm…that’s me eating up all his cuteness!
That is one of the best baby photos I’ve seen yet… he is the most adorable alert little guy! It’s good that you’re taking time for just you guys. You need it. I don’t have some photos of some of my best moments/memories of newborn Evan. And that’s ok. It’s the way I remember them that makes them so special.
So adorable!
I have three kids, too, and how well I remember those exhausting, early days after baby #3 appeared. But hang in there; soon he will notice the older two, and he will find their every little move absolutely fascinating. The upside: you will catch more breaks, earlier, than you ever did when you had just one or two.
He is beautiful and I adore the orange!
((hugs))
Too cute! I love orange…my son is wearing orange today too!
AAAHHHHH!! I can’t take it! It looks like he’s in a tiny orange sock and I can’t stand it!!! I love it……………
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! Love it.
Oooh he looks like a sweet, cute, orange jelly bean !
oh my… I ADORE this photo! Steph did a great job and your little man is too precious!

What’s not to love? He and his hat are gorgeous!
How adorable…
So darling.
What a cutie! I haven’t had a chance to stop in and say congrats!!! he’s beautiful!
We would not have a single picture of my child’s newborn days if my husband hadn’t taken control of the camera.
Eli looks like he’s in a Christmas stocking. LOVE!
oh goodness gracious.
Awww!
That’s too adorable.
love it! he looks so adorable!
Oh! My! Word! That is perfect. Leave it to Stephanie.
Of course you were so tired. Not only were you recovering from major surgery but Eli was sleep-depriving you (of course in a very loving, newborn sort of way). We should have come and done a photo shoot for you but who has talent? SO you can comfort yourself with the knowledge that we’ve all already taken hundreds of pictures of this photogenic little guy and that will surely make up for one little formal photo shoot! Right?
BTW, he looks stunning in his beautiful little orange outfit. Nice job, Stephanie!
SO cute!!
a) Elijah is soooo cute
b) orange is a perfect color on him
c) Steph did an amazing job, she should sell those sets on Etsy
d) did I mention Elijah is sooo cute?
He’s a cutie patootie, that one!
This is too much cute to handle. TOO MUCH.
He is precious and I love that he fits in there! ! !
Steph
What a beautiful little one -
looking forward to watching him grow through your photos-
thanks for doing this
Beth,
I’ve been following you for awhile…I’ve never posted, but wanted to congratulate you on your new GORGEOUS baby boy, who aside from my own, I seriously think Eli is the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen!!
I have 7 kids, so I know how hard it can be- hang in there, nursing will get easier, i love the orange knitted sleep sack he is in. Have you ever thought about cloth diapering? I know this may sound really random, but I’ve cloth diapered my last 3 kids, and you seem like the kind of mama who would also! Its not diapers and pins like it used to be, and if you have any questions about it, Id love to help you!
My email address is Happymama2many@yahoo.com
Again congrats Beth and family, I am so glad everything went great!
Hugs,
Kimberly in Florida
This reminds me of the newborn photo session we “tried” with my Babycakes. The photographer came to the house and my sweet one CRIED the entire time. I think I got a picture of her piggies & the side of her face!
Ms Beth, he is adorable and I Steph has such a gift!
Nell
He is just so sweet! You must LOVE snuggling with him.
LOVE the picture of his feet – so soft and cute!
Oops, I meant to add this comment to your most recent post!
Sweetness! I have an Elijah too (we call him Eli at times). He would proudly tell you that his favorite color is orange. :O) Your picture made me smile.
That is such a sweet picture! I just wanna scoop him up and smell his little baby head!
oh my! How adorable !
I deal with photo guilt, too. They may not have been taken by you, but I’m sure there are plenty of photos of this handsome man. It will be OK.
