One photo. That’s it. Was it hard for you to choose? Was for me, that’s for sure!
In the end, I could not deny the sweet, little, tiny, good smelling face of Elijah.
I love this shot, not just because it’s sweet, little, tiny, good smelling Elijah, but also because it’s shot in manual, with very little editing. (the shot was slightly underexposed, so I brightened it a tiny bit in photoshop.) I have made a commitment to only shoot in manual, starting this week – it’s hard but it’s the only way I’ll ever become comfortable with it!
By the way, if you are shooting in manual (or any other setting besides auto) feel free to provide your settings with your photos so we can all learn!
Okay, here’s my shot. He was on my lap and he was oh so happy. and also maybe a little concerned.

and also completely CUTE.

Now it’s your turn to share but first, UNFORTUNATELY, I have to revisit a few very important rules for You Capture, so please read, if you plan to participate.
1. USE YOUR OWN PHOTOS. I know, DUH, but apparently not everyone does. (stealing photos from other sources is illegal, kthxbye.)
2. DO NOT SEARCH ARCHIVES FOR OLD PHOTOS that fit the current theme. Although we know you are proud and want to showcase your photos, please feel free to do so, just don’t link it to You Capture. The purpose of You Capture is to get you inspired to pick up your camera.
3. PLEASE LINK TO YOUR BLOG POST ABOUT YOU CAPTURE, not your blog. I mean, GAH.
(I may or may not be a little frustrated, as you can see.)
So, with that, let’s share, friends!
But first …

FUN.
Happy Capturing!

Such a cute shot! Babies make such a wide range of expressions
That photo is just so life-like and real!! Oh, he’s a doll.
Also, I played this week!!
Steph
That boy of yours is so stinkin’ cute! His little lips and big eyes? Oh my! (and I can’t wait to show you fun – this is the weekend of Team Shrinking Jean’s half marathon!)
Awesome shot of your little guy!!!!
I love him, and his oh-so-concerned expressions!
GREAT picture. I’ll bet he has nommable toes!
OK, so I sorta cheated. I started out my post with the intentions of using just one photo (the very last one in my post) but I just can’t stop myself from telling a darned story. Sorry.
You may whip me with a wet noodle now.
Very Cute! Enjoy your happy moments with him!
Oh, he’s so cute…and expressive!
Wish I had a cute baby to photograph!
Also, you’ve revisted some of your rules but those aren’t listed in the “About you capture” section so some of us who are new to this had no idea those were rules. Obviously it’s not ok to steal content, but I’m talking about the one where we can’t use photos we’ve taken before.
Those eyes! *sigh* Makes me miss those newborn days. (Kinda). No, I do.
Duh. I commented on the wrong post! My pic is up!
I used to get that look from my little girl. It’s the “Hey mom, will ya put that thing down?” look hahaha
What a sweet, sweet picture!
He’s precious, Beth. Just precious.
Oh the cuteness…no wonder you had a hard time!
What a happy shot. It makes me have baby fever, except you know for the whole being preggo thing.
What a neat idea! I love taking pictures, especially of my 2yo, and a weekly theme sure will inspire me to keep snapping!
SO glad I stumbled upon your blog!!
I didn’t think picking one shot would be hard because I do it everyday for my 365 project…..but having to pick one from a solid week was a little hard.
Shooting in manual will become second nature to you if you just keep working at it. Even though when I try to shoot my 4 year old nephew who is in constant motion in manual it is challenging.
Love the baby face.
Oh and I also have to say how wonderful everyone who plays along with your meme is. I have never felt so welcome by a new group as I did with you all.
that is such a cute picture!!i hope to have a good camera someday that i can get shots like that!! (sigh)poor me right? LOL
This is way too difficult to select, but you chose a very nice one.

O.K. That shot is all kinds of awesome. I love his expression!
When you revisted the rules, you reminded me of teacher Erin, when I’m all, AND CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHEN YOU FORGOT THAT WE DON’T TALK DURING CLASS!?
Also, Eli. Sigh.
i love him! he is slightly concerned. what are you saying to him??!
He is just so SWEET!! newborns are the best….

Such a sweet picture!
He’s so adorable!
Yay for manual! I’ve been trying to do more in manual, too.
Such a great shot! I’m impressed with the idea of using Manual all the time. I may have to do that too because I need to start using Manual. That’s a little scary though!
so cute! I love how concerned he looks
It must have been the week for manual settings!!! I am learning to and venturing into manual mode…great shot of your gorgeous little man in your lap! Have a great day Beth!
So glad to be participating this week. Love the blog!
So glad to be participating this week. Love the blog.
SO sweet!
And go you on the Manual! I have been working on shutter priority, and I seem to be stuck there.
My daughter moves so fast when I try manual I get so frustrated.
He’s lovely!
It was a rough week, but I’m glad to have something to contribute.
That little face simply can not be denied. How can you NOT choose him as your one shot?? Love it.
Hope all is happy Beth! After a little bloggy break, I’m back playing along this week!
Lee
Love your shot of the week! Your little man is adorable, I can’t believe my little lady was that small -she grew up soo fast and now she’s getting in to everything and anything.

I’m so glad I found your blog! Love the weekly challenges, and learning about you and your adorable family
Aww, what a sweetheart he is! Hopefully a little calmer these days now too.
I LOVED this week’s challenge! I was motivated to branch out into new styles of photography and post processing. It’s interesting to see how people selected their best shots too! Given the choice, they seemed to lean more to the emotive one than the “artistic” one. (ahem. if they did choose just one shot. a lesson in self-editing, no?) Food for thought. Thanks for the challenge!
What an adorable shot. Our sons are only a few days apart so it’s fun to see him grown in comparison to Max. I had fun with my first You Capture!
So adorable! I love his expression!
I had fun with my first You Capture, which also captured my baby’s expression!
Yay! My first time! I feel all exuberant.
He is such a cutie!
