One photo. That’s it. Was it hard for you to choose? Was for me, that’s for sure!
In the end, I could not deny the sweet, little, tiny, good smelling face of Elijah.
I love this shot, not just because it’s sweet, little, tiny, good smelling Elijah, but also because it’s shot in manual, with very little editing. (the shot was slightly underexposed, so I brightened it a tiny bit in photoshop.) I have made a commitment to only shoot in manual, starting this week – it’s hard but it’s the only way I’ll ever become comfortable with it!
By the way, if you are shooting in manual (or any other setting besides auto) feel free to provide your settings with your photos so we can all learn!

Oh MY GOSH! If I’d have had this picture in my photo library, I wouldn’t have had any trouble at all picking a favorite. Just look at that little face. You can tell he’s trying to figure everything out as quickly as possible. He’s so perfect and so is this picture. You rock!

I’ve been reading your blog for about a week now (since I discovered it), and I can’t stop, in all my free time I’ve been reading it (since the beginning). I love your writing and honesty with life! This is my first time here and I gotta say love the challenege and LOVE that picture!! SOO sweet!! I need to take my camera off auto too…I will have to force myself to take it off auto pilot and actually read the manual that the camera came with..hehehe. yep! That pretty much sounds like a day at my house! The best thing about days like these is that they end and we get to try again the next day – hopefully with a little more sleep. And our kids get to learn about being gracious – even to crazy- Mommy.

Beth, I just can’t switch to manual because of shutter speed. I feel like I’m decent at changing the aperture, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to manipulate the shutter speed– help! How do you choose your shutter speed?
