Yesterday was one of those days where everything was good. It wasn’t always easy, but everything was good.
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more.
If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.

I’m grateful for the summer food on our table.

My kids. Their hearts are so full of life that it rubs off on us.

I’m thankful for summer shoes on clearance at Target in July.

Not pictured: prayer at church, peanut butter ice cream cones at our local ice cream parlor, kid-sized swimming pools, neighbors who can bake, family car rides in the country, a clean bedroom, sitting on the floor with the kids, tickle parties and a husband who gets it.
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. -William Arthur Ward

Beautiful post!! Filled me with warm fuzzies.
I love that quote at the top by Oprah. Life isn’t about “how much” but about enjoying it daily and letting go of the things that weigh us down.
Heart you! Happy Monday :]
Simply lovely.
love your photography. the cherries are my favorite.
As I was jogging this morning I was thinking about how I needed a good “thank you” quote and planned to Google when I got home. I decided to check Twitter first and here is the perfect quote right here on your blog. Thank you.
This is a beautiful post, Beth. I think we are all often too distracted by problems in our lives to take note of the little blessings everyday that should help us carry on.
That said, gimme some corn. Please.
What a sweet little post. Those photos are amazing.
Sounds like a perfectly imperfect weekend.
Just beautiful.
I am grateful for sweet friends who leave summer food and flowers on my porch, even though the sign warns them to beware of pug.
Such lovely things to hold close inside your heart. Good things.

I can feel each and every dew drop of gratitude… and thanks for the beautiful reminder! xo!
I’m loving the shoes!
Hi it is so good to stop and think what we are thankful for thanks for reminding me
Love your photos, as usual!
Oh. your kids.
simply breathtaking.

Enough. Such a big word with so much attached to it. After my husband lost his job in August, we’ve been learning about enough. And while some of it is physical needs, mostly it’s emotional. We have enough love, laughter, kindness, generosity, God’s grace.
We’re having a summer of enough, not excess, but enough. And you know what it’s been a pretty great ride!
Beth,
Just wanted to pass on the “A Blog With Substance” Award to you: http://makingourfamilycomplete.blogspot.com/2010/07/we-won-blogging-with-substance-award.html. Your beautiful photos offer so much to the world.
PS When did Anna grow up so much? She looks so much like you in those photos?
all three of your children are simply precious. i have so enjoyed, too, watching elijah grow up! there’s just something about anna, though, that is so striking. it’s like i can see godly wisdom & love [the god-kind - one that speaks to the soul] shining behind her eyes – i can’t look at her without seeing that yhwh has plans for her that none of us can even fathom. it’s something big.
thank you for sharing your wonderful family with us day after day. they [& you] are such a blessing.

Your kids have fantastic smiles!
I always like to say “If you can’t be happy with a little, you’ll never be happy with a lot.” Beautiful post!
I really like your lighting and processing on the cherries. Is that a free texture or one you purchased?
I love the sentiment of this post right down to the title. It is simple but so perfect.
The quotes are beautiful and next to the kids, that corn picture is just delicious!
Great post Beth.
