Friday Morning Coffee
ByI’m sitting here drinking coffee, the kids are about to go outside and Elijah is starting to cry in his crib.
This is what happens, I sit down to blog and the baby needs his Mama. I don’t really mind, I just miss “me” time. But I love “Eli and Mama” time so much and know that these sweet moments are fleeting.
This morning I had a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios, they were really yummy.
Anyway. Things with Eli have been extremely difficult. (I started writing this over an hour ago.) Brian is walking him around right now crying (Eli is crying, not Brian) because I need a break. I’m taking him back to the doctor in 25 minutes.
Hoping they find an answer because little tiny baby boy is not happy or comfortable.
But he is cute.
Love you all.

You’re right! He is cute!
Poor you and poor little guy.. I sure hope they can figure out what is making him so miserable! I hope you both feel better really soon
Oh… those moments are so hard when they can’t tell you what is wrong. good luck at the doctor.
Good luck at the doctor’s Eli!
Eli’s outfit is absolutely adorable! Where did you get it? I would love to get one for my little guy.
Good luck at the dr’s. Hopefully he’ll have a solution!
Mine was a cryer too, until about the age Eli is coming in to.
One of these days we will look back and not even remember what it was like, won’t we?
Oh, Eli. And oh, you. I know what it’s like when they’re crying and you don’t understand why, but you feel like if you don’t get away from it all, you’re going to be crying, too? I hope the doctor gives you answers and helps that gorgeous boy feel better.
I hope you’ve gotten an answer. Thinking of you and wishing you well and little Eli happy.

Eli is so precious! I hope the doctor is able to help pinpoint what’s making him so comfortable
(his outfit is super cute!)
He really is adorable. I’m so sorry he’s not happy or comfortable. I hope doctors are able to help very soon.
“cute” is not the word. “WAY CUTE” are the words
hope he’s more comfortable with the new med
poor little dude….
hang in there! I know how hard times like that are on the momma. I hope all is well soon!
He is precious. Hope he gets back to himself and feels better soon!
Awww… poor little guy! And his poor Mama! I hope you figure it out soon. In the meantime – he IS cute!!
What a CUTIE!!
I know exactly what you mean, my baby girl (Makinley) is 14weeks old and it never fails when ever I sit down to have “me” time she crying for me, and if it’s not her it’s her 20month old brother (Zane). The past couple of weeks we’ve been dealing with gassy baby BOYISTHATFUN! You have a beautiful family and I love reading your blog!!!
He is dang cute, Beth! Hope the visit went well and both baby and family are more comfortable! Keeping my fingers crossed!
I usually pop in to read and pop back out but I just had to stop and comment today on all that cuteness. He is just so adorable. Those sweet little lips! I hope the Dr. was able to give you some answers today and that he is feeling better in the near future! Love the outfit too!
he is so beautiful! enjoy him!
Okay haven’t been following the comments lately to know if you answered this or not but have you guys tried some reflux meds?
The twins were crying for the first 4 months like that and it turned out to be silent reflux. It was just so hard.
I really really hope you find out what bothering the poor guy. Its miserable for everyone in this situation. Big hugs!!!
he is a doll! I’m so sorry you are still dealing with this…you have probably heard this a bunch of times, but my youngest was very allergic to milk and the milk products….I had to watch what I ate and even read the labels for myself, anything with milk, milk fat, milk fat solids, whey, his lil tummy could not tolerate, AT ALL! To this day, he still doesn’t care for any sorta milk product, not even ice cream (matter of fact, my dad took the kiddos for ice cream and the lil one opted for french fries)…
I was going to second what the previous poster said about milk. Once I read about the unhappy baby and all the ice cream you were eating it clicked! You sounded just like me a while back. My little one would be extremely uncomfortable after I nursed her and seemed to have a bad belly ache. I decided to cut out dairy from my diet and it made a huge difference in her! I only had to do it for a few months and slowly started to introduce it again when she was 6 months. It was super hard but worth it to have a happy little girl! Might be worth a try…it does take awhile for all the proteins to leave your body. Good luck!
It’s good that your doctor is so willing to work with you. My little guy is so fussy, and after a failed trial with one different formula, his doctor gave up. He told me I could try chamomile tea in case it was just an upset tummy, but wasn’t willing to even investigate other causes. He said “he should grow out of it by his 4 month appointment.” I’m thinking of consulting with a different doctor.
I hope you find a solution, and that your little guy is doing better soon!
Love the photo of Eli. I can’t believe he is 4 months. I do hope they figure out what is bothering him.
((hugs))
Tonight I took my three kids to dinner while Sugar Daddy was at work. Teen, my 13 yo son, was acting ungrateful and just giving me attitude. I was frustrated and wanted to slap him (just being honest… but I didn’t slap him). I’ve been at odds with him. And it’s breaking my heart.
So after that I wanted some “me” time. Time away from his attitude so I started reading up on my favorite blogs, which includes you. And you write about your little boy who isn’t feeling well. And it breaks my heart for 2 reasons. 1 because your little boy can’t tell you what is wrong. 2 because it made me realize that my “little boy” can’t really tell me what’s wrong either. He’s 13. He has no idea what’s going on in his head.
You are right. This time with him is fleeting. You’ll get it all figured out. And before you know it you’re little guy will be back to his happier self. They always do.
He IS cute! Man, they grow so quickly… Hope they figure out how to help him be comfortable.
I already know the outcome because I’m reading this on Tuesday but I have to comment on his adorable picture. I love it!
