In case you were unable to figure it out from the title of this post – I lost weight this week which means I have lost weight every week since starting Weight Watchers back in May. This makes me happy because I firmly believe the slower you lose it the more likely it will stay off.
And this weight? It’s coming off sloooowly which is good because I’m nursing, we don’t want it to come off too quickly. (and it also means I can eat Bratwurst and s’mores with Reese’s peanut butter cups and drink beer, too.) (If I wanted to.) (Not that I did that.) (A lot, this past weekend.)
Brian and I celebrated our 15 year dating anniversary yesterday. FIFTEEN. YEARS. A lot has changed since then, mainly my waistline but also the way we celebrate things. Simple things make us happy.
For instance.
Last night we dropped the kids off at Bible school. We fed them dinner beforehand which meant Brian and I still needed to eat. We considered going out to eat to celebrate (with Eli, of course.) but I was wearing sweat capris and a tank top, I did not want to change clothes because it took me an hour to pick out the stunner I had on – which was not appropriate for dining out. I really like Taco Bell, Brian does not. I asked in my cute voice, which was much cuter to Brian fifteen years ago, I’m sure, “can we please get Taco Bell.”
He smiled at me. ”Of course, anything for you on our anniversary.” So, we pulled through the drive-thru, came home, I ate on the couch, he at his desk and it was SO AWESOME.
Before you judge, know this: we eat at the table every night, so this was a wonderful break, A TREAT.
We celebrate 11 years of marriage next month, maybe we’ll live it up and I’ll put real clothes on. And maybe not. Either way is fine with me.
But if we did go out to celebrate, I’d wear something simple, like this. (I lost 1.2 pounds this week, by the way.)

oh my goodness i love that purse!!!
great job on the steady weight loss, I am right with you!
Congrats on the weight loss. I’m in the process of putting it back on-again.
I also love your choices for an outfit. Very stylish.
Yay for lost weight! I love your celebration. We always eat at the table….our coffee table.
The only time we eat in our dinig room is when my in-laws come over. We’re fine diners, alrighty.
Congrats on your loss (mine was 2 this week)! It’s tough to wish for a big number, just like Biggest Loser, and end up with a 1 or a 2 but you are so right, slow is the way to go and equals lifestyle change!
That bag is divine.
I completely understand why your evening in was so great. A chance to eat a meal in lazy clothes with no interruption or request for sharing from kids would be heavenly. Happy dating anniversary!
HA! I love it (and Taco Bell too … sounds like a perfect celebration to me!!). My hubby and I will celebrate our 18 year dating anniversary in September … and I’m only 33!! GAH!
That outfit is adorable … so up my ally. Only problem? You didn’t share your resources … and I think I might need a few of those pieces!
Happy Day and Yea for slow and steady on the weight loss!
I had forgotten about you and WW. When I saw the title, I thought “Oh, NO”. She’s losing IT! Glad to hear that it’s weight that you’re losing. Congratulations!
I love that outfit, but more often than not, I’d be in the sweat capris/tank outfit.
Work it, gurrrrl!!! Congrats on your weight loss and your super duper loving marriage. Taco bell sounds delish!
Woohoo! My husband works at a university and he just got me signed up to use their state of the art gym so it looks like I now have no excuse to not work out. So I’ll be hopefully in the weight loss boat with you soon!
Love, love love that tunic and the leggings!
Is that a ring, or a bracelet? Either way, I totally love that outfit! I’m sure it’ll look stunning.
I can’t judge. Seriously. I think it doesn’t matter where you go or how fancy the restaurant is, as long as you’re in each other’s company and enjoying time together. I actually have a friend who goes to Taco Bell each year on Valentine’s Day. It’s their thing
Congrats on being closer to your goal!!!!
Go and buy that whole outfit immediately. Wear it on your anniversary. Let me borrow it.
I really think control top leggings would change my life. I need to look into that.
Your slow and steady weight loss is inspirational. I have plans to join Weight Watchers after my 6 week postpartum visit. I’m a lifetime member from before I started having babies. Five years later…I’m no where close to my goal weight.
You go Beth!!
I love that you wanted Taco Bell for your anniversary dinner
Your story made me smile. How sweet of him!! It’s a treat for us to eat on the couch w/ the tv on too!!! Happy Anniversary and I love the outfit you picked out too. congrats on losing weight!

Oh I love it how you enjoy the simple things like that!
That is the way to go. Gongratulations on your weightloss!!!
OMG I am laughing so hard about your not so date. You’re old people now, welcome to the club!
As they say, a loss is a loss. Yay!
I think it’s funny that my hubs and me are like 6 months behind you in the whole relationship thing. Our 15 yr dating anniversary isin Nov. as is our 11th wedding anniversary…
And that handbag – the cutest!!

I went to WW after my first, lost it all, got pregnant and am almost at goal again…now to convince my husband it is time for baby number 3
Love weight watchers because it really works and you can still eat (or drink LOL) what is important to you!
Cute outfit! Congrats on the weight loss. My scale has gone the other way for a pound or two recently, which is quite a bummer.
Congrats on the loss….slow and steady. Atta girl!
