You Capture – Vehicles
ByPardon my tardiness, I have a vehicle-sized headache and three children that are requiring truckloads of attention, so getting You Capture up has been a real challenge. But luckily, Eli is sleeping and Anna and Noah are keeping themselves busy by drawing pictures of pizza (they take after their mother).
Did you have a great week photographing vehicles? I hope so!
Here are my two shots.
We had seventy-five billion rocks delivered yesterday. When I see this picture I think of back-breaking work, sweating to death in 95 degree weather and dollar signs being dropped onto our drive away.
Oh and also beautiful landscaping. Yes, mostly that.

And then I was sitting at a stop light the other day, I saw two vehicles sitting, I grabbed my camera, set my settings, took a picture and then got honked at. Geeze, some people have NO PATIENCE. Can’t a girl take a photo of two random trucks at a busy intersection in peace?

Now it’s your turn to share!
But first -
1. Anyone can join in on the challenge at anytime.
2. Please make sure the photos you use were taken for the challenge, meaning do not search your archives for an appropriate photo. The goal of You Capture is to get you out taking photos each week!
3. Use YOUR photos.
4. When linking up, only link to your You Capture blog post, not your main blog URL. (incorrect links will be deleted.)
{more You Capture info can be found here.}

Black & white. (any photo, just processed in black & white! Remember, you can find free editing programs over at Picasa and Picnik.)
Happy Capturing!

I love the rocks pic!
Also, I will probably need Starbucks today. Can I bring you some?
And yippee black and white next week!
Steph
Haha- I was in the movie theater parking lot (one that is kind of on the edge of the ghetto) and I really wanted to take a picture of a truck that had been spray painted camoflauge. But I didn’t want to get shot.
Whoops, I commented on the last post instead of this one! I hate when I do that.
Anyway…..I had to laugh that you got honked at because that happens to me all the time. I should probably create a bumper sticker that says, “This car stops for potential blogging opportunities.”
REALLY love the dump truck!!!!
I like your picture of two pickup trucks for sale! It’s definitely worth getting honked at. But my favorite is the truck dumping stones. A couple of those stones actually look kind of familiar to me.
Thanks for the inspiration. This week’s theme definitely made me look at things and take pictures of things that I wouldn’t normally consider taking pictures of .
Enjoy your new landscaping.
Great pic of the truck dumping the rocks. Looking forward to black & white next week! That’s my favorite – all the photos in my house are b & w!!!

I love the rock picture! I really like your processing and the way you can see the worker looking over his shoulder.
I love the first shot! That’s fantastic!
I like the dump truck. I’m not much of a “car” person…but when I saw this challenge I was on the lookout. Glad I saw a car I liked enough to take a picture of, lol…ok…actually my hubby found it…but I knew of the challenge so it worked out.
Hope your headache goes away…and soon.
Feel better soon!
So what are all those rocks for anyway? That’s a cool shot for sure! And you actually got 3 vehicles in that second one! sweet!
Headaches are no fun, I hope yours goes away soon!
love that rock picture! i cannot stand getting honked at. hope you’re feeling better!
Happy landscaping!

My back is going out just looking at all those rocks.
Also, buy me one of those trucks.
Kthx.
Love the first shot!
Headaches suck. Hope yours doesn’t last long.
RUDE people honking at you! Don’t they know you HAVE to take pictures?
Understanding the headache…the kids…yup, yup. Understanding the stop and click, honk-honk..too. Some people just don’t understand just how important taking pictures is
I like your random shots!!

love your vehicle pics! (especially the rocks coming out of the truck). i have my vehicle post ready to go and will post it tomorrow b/c i posted my “bigger picture moment” today. that is hilarious that you got beeped at…everyone is always in such a rush!
We had “seventy-five billion” pea gravel sized rocks delivered 3 weeks ago to fill in the hole Hubby dug for our new basement egress window.
I love that you stopped in heavy traffic to snap that picture! What fun, and that’s what this is all about right!
I have a photography question if somebody could please please help me. Is aperture limited by the camera’s capabilities or by the lens? My husband bought me a Canon T1i EF-S 18-55 IS kit and I was playing with the settings and I could only get the F stop down to 3.5. It wouldn’t go any lower
I’m hoping this is because of the kit lens, and not the camera body.
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!
p.s. I love the dump truck shot! Landscaping is such hard work, but makes the yard look so pretty.
Hi Kris,
Your lens only has an aperture range of 3.5-5.6, which is why you aren’t able to go below 3.5. Which means it’s your lens and not your camera!
