First of all, I am proud to say that I honestly would never feature I product in my blog that I didn’t believe in or one that suited my life. Certainly one of the perks of blogging is receiving free items and being able to give them away but that is NOT why I blog. I blog to write, I blog for community.

But I am thankful for the perks. Let’s celebrate World Breastfeeding Week!
Last week I received a package from Philips Avent, it was a Double Electric Breast Pump. Now, I am no stranger to breast pumps, with Anna and Noah I used hospital grade pumps. With Eli I used one manual brand (hated it) and then purchased a more costly, but (apparently) not top of the line double electric breast pump that was just not strong enough.

Then my friend, Sarah, came to my rescue and let me borrow her Medela Pump in Style. Man, that pump is great.
So, when Philips Avent approached me about sending me a pump, I said yes, but I was skeptical. What could be better than the Pump in Style?
I used the new pump for the first time last night and I can honestly say that I am impressed. I pumped just as much as what I pump with the PIS. (I pump at the same time every night.) This pump comes with a discreet (although somewhat large) pumping bag, tons of accessories, coolers, bottles and nipples. (all BPA free)
What do I extra love about this pump? A few things. First, it’s quiet. (even quieter than the Medela.) It’s unbelievably comfortable! You control the speed, rhythm and comfort level at your fingertips, which means you can instantly and easily make adjustments without awkward reaching. You can even set the rhythm to mimic your own baby’s suckling action. (seriously, this is like no other, it’s really cool.)
If your power goes out, this pump can also be used manually and can be used as a single electronic breast pump.
I hate to say what I don’t love about it because I’m just not used to it, yet, but there are a lot of parts. and a lot of tubing and detaching and reattaching. Other than that, though. It’s comfortable, sleek, quiet and it ACTUALLY works.
And I get to give a pump away to one of my readers! (retail value $259.99) One lucky reader will receive the Philips Avent Double Electric Breast Pump and a box of nursing pads (which are AWESOME.)
How does one enter to win?
1. Leave a comment telling me something about babies or breastfeeding. It’s doesn’t have to be your personal story, it can be your vision of what you’d like to do when you become a parent, it can be what you love about nursing or a struggle you’ve had. Share here!
2. Do not say “PICK ME” because that is so annoying.
3. Tweet, Facebook or blog about this giveaway and leave each individual link in the comments. Four ways to win!

Eight weeks to go for me! Breastfeeding didn’t work out very well last time, but I know the reasons and issues, so I’m really hoping I’m more successful with this baby!
I am currently nursing my fourth baby; he’s eight months old. I nursed the other three until they were one, but this one’s a biter! I can’t wean him, because he will not, absolutely will not take a bottle. He just chews on the nipple, never sucking. Every once in a while something squirts out of the bottle, but he must not like it because he never tries to get more. Maybe if it was my milk that he tasted he’d be interested in it!
I’m expecting #4 and really hoping to breastfeed. My first two were very easy to nurse but my third has a condition and couldn’t. Missing that opportunity made me realize how special breastfeeding is and now I’m excited for the opportunity to try again!
I have nursed two babies and currently have four sisters-in-law nursing babies. I would give the pump to one of them because their pumps are old and recycled from friends.

Blech! I hate it when that happens. When I hit submit, it said, “You forgot to fill in your comment, so I THOUGHT I erased it before hitting submit. Sorry for being a comment messer-upper. =(
My friend and I each called our pumps the ball and chain. I loved nursing. Hated pumping. I’d still do it all over again and I hope I get the chance.
I just found out that our Christmas baby we are expecting is a GIRL! The girl that I hoped and prayed for every night and I can’t wait to breastfeed her. I breastfed by son for one year and it was one of the most gratifying gifts I could give him. Unfortunately, I went through four lousy (but costly!) pumps throughout that time. Now I’m saving my pennies for a nice new pump that I can take to work with me and continue breastfeeding my daughter. But if I were to win one, oh boy, what more fun could have shopping for sweet pinks and ruffles!

i am currently breastfeeding our fourth little miracle. i’ve used the pump in style before and have liked it but am always looking for something easier and better. i’m currently borrowing a friends (with all new pertinent stuff so don’t worry about the germies!) but would love to have my own as i will be heading back to work soon and will be needing one. thanks for the fun day! =)
I have 4 kids, all of whom I breastfed without any problems. I attribute this to the fact that I saw breastfeeding a lot growing up. I read once that the #1 reason that women “fail” at breastfeeding is that it’s a learned behaviour and they’ve never witnessed it. Just think of the gift you’re giving to your older kids – you’re teaching THEM about breastfeeding. Go you!!
I’ve nursed all three of my boys for different lengths of time. NOW, I have a fourth little boy due in just 8 short weeks, and oh man, how I’d LOVE to have a double breast pump. DOUBLE! I mean, really. My electric single pump Medela has been hanging around for over 7 years and has been AWESOME, but I wouldn’t mind upgrading just a bit
Totally just realized that I commented on the wrong entry! But my baby boy is nursing right now, so I have an excuse, right?
He’s my very first baby and because of a rough birth, we didn’t nurse until he was 3 days old and then it took 9 days for my milk to come in. I was terrified of having to supplement and felt like a failure when his weight dropped significantly. Now at 3 weeks old, we are finally getting the hang of it and he is gaining again.
I’m a new mom. My little guy is due September 26th and I just can’t wait! I am very nervous about breast-feeding. I don’t want to use formula and really want to make this whole breast-feeding thing work. I have heard such bad and good things about it but what has been universal is having a good pump.
Thanks for putting up the give away! Always fun!
I have a little boy who just turned six months and we are breastfeeding like champs. I am so thankful that I have a breastfeeding success story. In the three women I am closest to, I have had the only “easy” time breastfeeding.
However, I am going back to work in a couple of weeks after being off since Wes was born. I am NERVOUS as all heck as to how breastfeeding is going to go and bumping/etc. I have one bump that works fine (loaned to me by my sister) but I would love to have another that I could leave at work as the one I have is big and clunky.
Thanks for such a terrific give-away!
I am pregnant with Baby #2. I did not breastfeed with my first. I wanted to, but it just did not work. I was also so frustrated with it and no one could help me at the hospital (the lactation specialist was on vacation and the nurses were barely out of nursing school), so I quit. I am much more determined to try to breastfeed this baby and really need a pump. I will be returning to work after the baby is born and need to pump during the day. Great giveaway!
I am expecting twins in 3 short months. It has been 6 years since we had our oldest son & though we had a great nursing experience (18 months!) I am worried about trying to breastfeed 2 babies. I KNOW I’ll need a little help – wether it be milk that i’ve pumped (that’s where this giveaway comes in right?!) or formula. We’ll do what it takes…try our best, and in the long run hope for happy, healthy babies!
My sister is due with her first baby (a girl) in October. I would love for her to have an awesome pump to aid her in her breastfeeding journey.
My favorite picture is a B&W a friend took of my oldest two boys. They were about 3 & 5 and they look like angels. They also look like they love one another which isn’t such a common occurrence now that they’re 11 & 13. It still hangs in our hall. Take care of yourself!
Can’t figure out how to link the actual tweet, but I posted about the giveaway! http://twitter.com/workingdiva
I am wanting to breastfeed or second baby so badly.
Breastfeeding has been one of the greatest joys about having a newborn, for me. I am so thankful that I can say that, because I realize that it’s not an easy journey for everyone.
My husband & I are in the planning stages of becoming pregnant with our first child, and I am addicted already to everything baby, there are so many cute blogs and baby things out there! I already have a collection of some of my old baby dresses, and now this breast pump giveaway…
There are so many benefits of breastfeeding, it’s more than just food for you baby, it’s that emotional connection & physical closeness that babies need to thrive. I plan on breastfeeding the first year, no formula, and I hope it goes as smoothly as possible!
I have an Immune Deficiency and have to supplement with formula when my little one arrives, so I’m kind of scared of nipple confusion. I took a class at the hospital to know more about breastfeeding and I hope it works out for me!
I really enjoyed your recent post about nursing. With my first child, I was mainly committed to breastfeeding because it was so much more economical, but I grew to love it for the way it helped us bond. And now that my third is a year old and still nursing like a champ, I really appreciate that it makes me sit down with him to reconnect a few times every day amidst the busyness of our family life.
My favorite picture is of my first born on the day he came home from the hospital. The beautiful thing about the picture is my Grandmother, who is 92 was holding him. The contrast of her amazing hands which have seen and done so much in her life and his brand new skin is amazing. Just beautiful.
I am going to have my 3rd Little man in a few months and can not wait to BF, i had problems recovering from my past 2 c-sections and was not able to nurse them for very long at all which left me feeling so bad. This is going to be my last child and i want nothing more then to be able to nurse him for as long as possible but if for some reason it does not work out i know now from my past that it does not make me a bad mom,i had horrible guilt for not being able to nurse them.
I just want to thank you for being so open about your nursing experience, it gives me much hope!
I would LOVE a new pump. I am back at work FT using a borrowed pump. It would be nice to have my own. I am really trying to stay committed to exclusively breastfeeding for 6 months
I’ve heard great things about this pump. I would say what I look forward to most about having a baby of my very own is seeing my husband love that thing like nothing else. {swoon}
I just had my third baby 2 weeks ago, and have breastfed all of my kids so far. My second baby had to be in the NICU for a little while so I was able to use the hospital grade breast pump to supply milk for her while she was there. That thing was awesome! And if this is as good as you say it is, I would love to have one of my own!!
I had to pump everything for my son for six weeks when he wouldn’t latch on, now my daughter won’t take a bottle, but I still pump every night just in case….
I’ve been breastfeeding baby #2 now for five months. We made it through those VERY hard first few weeks, and now it is a special, beautiful thing. She started on cereal a couple of weeks ago, and I’m kind of sad that she doesn’t need “just me” anymore.
well, i have 3.5 weeks until my 3rd child is born, and i really hope to have a good bf-ing experience. with my last, i had to stop nursing at 3 months, and pumped exclusively until 8 months with a rented medela symphony. i would love to have my OWN pump!!
My favorite photo is one my husband took with our crappy old digital camera of the moment I held my daughter for the first time (3 hours after having her).
I have been breastfeeding DD for 4 months now, and am just starting to express so that I will be able to be bridesmaid for my brother-in-law’s wedding without having to breastfeed during the ceremony
BTW, I loved your previous post on breastfeeding
We have been trying to have a baby for almost 9 months, and I am going to have to go back to work after having them. Pumping is what I plan on doing and being a large busted woman I am fearful of how uncomfortable it will be. Having great products ease my mind just a little more.
I had a terrible time nursing my first (Eli) but I was super determined, got some help & nursed for 7 mths pumping after I returned to work. With my second (Luci) , things went a lot smoother. Loved nursing my babies. still deciding about another….would need a new pump!
Breastfeeding is definitely a commitment but always felt it was worth sticking through as long as I could. for me the first month or two was painful. Then I had a few months where I felt it was comfortable and more convenient than bottles/formula. Went back to work and supplemented some but also pumped at work (which was difficult). Supply dwindled and that was that! I was happy to share that experience with my babies 9 months w/son and then 11 months w/daughter. I feel like whatever you can do as a mom is great- however little or however long you can do it.
I’m about a week and a half away from my due date with my 2nd baby. I struggled but persevered and breastfed my 1st (who’s now 3) for a little over a year, though I had to pump all the time to keep my supply high enough for him. I feel blessed that I was able to make it work for us and while I hope that breastfeeding is easier this time around, I’m sure a good new pump would certainly come in handy again this time
I just had my first baby, who is about 9 weeks old sooner rather than later I have to go back to work! We have a great bond from breastfeeding despite the little set backs when he was borm
I only have a hand held medela that is not efficient at all! This avent pump would be amazing to have

My Eli is 8 days old and I am amazed at how quickly I have fallen back into the rhythm of nursing. It helps that all he wants to do is eat, eat, eat. I know how fortunate I am that my nursing adventure has been pretty smooth. It is one of my favorite parts of being mama.
My second baby was born 4 weeks early. She never really figured out how to nurse. I pumped for almost a year for her. My sister has 2-week-old and I’d love to win this for her.
Looking forward to our second baby, due in a little over two months!
I love babies and am so excited to have a little niece or nephew on the way. I would love to win this for my sister in law. I had the PIS and I loved it. I am sure she will appreciate this one though!
I love the bond that mom and baby get to create, that is theirs and theirs alone. I have only had a manual pump with my kids, and I didn’t like it at.all.
