First of all, I am proud to say that I honestly would never feature I product in my blog that I didn’t believe in or one that suited my life. Certainly one of the perks of blogging is receiving free items and being able to give them away but that is NOT why I blog. I blog to write, I blog for community.

But I am thankful for the perks. Let’s celebrate World Breastfeeding Week!
Last week I received a package from Philips Avent, it was a Double Electric Breast Pump. Now, I am no stranger to breast pumps, with Anna and Noah I used hospital grade pumps. With Eli I used one manual brand (hated it) and then purchased a more costly, but (apparently) not top of the line double electric breast pump that was just not strong enough.

Then my friend, Sarah, came to my rescue and let me borrow her Medela Pump in Style. Man, that pump is great.
So, when Philips Avent approached me about sending me a pump, I said yes, but I was skeptical. What could be better than the Pump in Style?
I used the new pump for the first time last night and I can honestly say that I am impressed. I pumped just as much as what I pump with the PIS. (I pump at the same time every night.) This pump comes with a discreet (although somewhat large) pumping bag, tons of accessories, coolers, bottles and nipples. (all BPA free)
What do I extra love about this pump? A few things. First, it’s quiet. (even quieter than the Medela.) It’s unbelievably comfortable! You control the speed, rhythm and comfort level at your fingertips, which means you can instantly and easily make adjustments without awkward reaching. You can even set the rhythm to mimic your own baby’s suckling action. (seriously, this is like no other, it’s really cool.)
If your power goes out, this pump can also be used manually and can be used as a single electronic breast pump.
I hate to say what I don’t love about it because I’m just not used to it, yet, but there are a lot of parts. and a lot of tubing and detaching and reattaching. Other than that, though. It’s comfortable, sleek, quiet and it ACTUALLY works.
And I get to give a pump away to one of my readers! (retail value $259.99) One lucky reader will receive the Philips Avent Double Electric Breast Pump and a box of nursing pads (which are AWESOME.)
How does one enter to win?
1. Leave a comment telling me something about babies or breastfeeding. It’s doesn’t have to be your personal story, it can be your vision of what you’d like to do when you become a parent, it can be what you love about nursing or a struggle you’ve had. Share here!
2. Do not say “PICK ME” because that is so annoying.
3. Tweet, Facebook or blog about this giveaway and leave each individual link in the comments. Four ways to win!

I am due with baby #3 in early November and am looking forward to the close bond that breastfeeding brings! I breastfed my son until he was 15 months and my daughter 18 months and was sad to wean them! They loved the bond as much as I did. I’m hoping to have the same wonderful experience with my new baby girl! I too am a Medela girl, but would love to give Avent a try-especially since my 2 year old got into the diaper cream and smeared it all over the backpack and I can’t get it out! Zinc oxide and black backpack = not so discreet! Thanks for the opportunity for this giveaway!
I’m not a mom yet….but my mom was a big breastfeeding advocate and I know its something I want to try when the time comes. I might give this one as a gift to a pregnant gal I know who really needs this.
I’m patiently awaiting my baby on the way, due November. This would be really helpful, and I’d love to be able to start off with quality for less frustration. I love the beauty I see in the bond of breastfeeding and anything that makes that achievement easier is a plus
My favorite photo is of my husband and I on a sunny day on the mall in D.C. We picnicked and relaxed and tried to just be. In the moment. Not worrying about everything we had to do. Not concerned with world peace or save the whales, but rather just in existing together right then. I’m having it blown up on canvas for our home.
I love that I have been able to breastfeed my 5 children. It is such a great bonding time just one on one with my babies. And I will be honest, I also love how much money I save not buying formula
This is fun!! Thank you again for letting me share! I am blessed to be expecting again in 8 weeks. I am so excited, yet nervous of course! I am choosing to breastfeed this baby too and have been amazed by your determination and inspired by your blog. I am thankful to have had previous success with breastfeeding, but I know that each baby is different. I have used the Avent bottles before, but didn’t know about this pump. Thank you for doing these giveaways!
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of first baby in about 6 weeks! I am determined to nurse but terrified at the same time. I have read/heard so many horror stories that I’m afraid it won’t work out for us. With that being said, I’m going to give it everything I have! This pump would be a huge help!
Ohhh! I definitely need one of those! I’m going to be nursing Jack for as long as i can and have to go back to work full time….it would be very handy.
i facebooked about all of your giveaways!!

My daughter wanted so much to breastfeed with her first baby. Unfortunately when he was only a few days old she got very sick and was put on some really strong antibiotics that were a must for recovery but also not something she could take and continue to breastfeed. Her initial thought was to pump and toss until she was recovered then try breastfeeding again. It seemed that she was constantly pumping and getting nothing for her hard efforts. After being on the medication for about 4 days she realized that regardless of how much she increased her fluid intake and her pumping her output continued to diminish to nothing. When she went back to the doctor for a followup visit he told her that the medication she was on is what was causing her milk supply to diminish to nothing. As a result when she was finally ready to resume nursing her milk supply was gone. Nothing … Nada … she was never able to start producing milk again. She ended up formula feeding Lil Bit and he did great. We are grateful there was an alternate source for the nourishment he needed but till this day she still regrets not being able to nurse him.
She is expecting her second little boy in about 8 days and she would love to once again attempt to nurse. I’m sure she would love trying the Philips Avent pump.
Nursing is awesome. Flat out!
My 2nd just weaned a few months ago at the age of 3 1/2. The time of snuggles and kisses and feeling little fingers and toes kneading my sides and tummy are priceless.
As a mom of 3, I would love this. Nursing is tough and this would makes things easier.
I firmly believe that breast milk is best. I breastfed my daughter until my milk dried up after 5 months. I am not sure why that was, if it was the pump I was using or maybe I wasn’t drinking enough water. Anyhoo, I know a great pump goes a long way. I am planning to breastfeed longer with my second child. My goal is 12 months.

i’ve had many precious moments breast feeding, but one of the most sacred was sitting under a hut, on a concrete floor nursing a 3 week old baby boy in uganda. i would go get him as often as i could, hold him close & fill his little belly. i hope he is well.

I am proud that I’ve breastfed my daughter for 6.5 months, particularly since I went back to work full-time when she was 3.5 months. And PARTICULARLY since I despise my Medela Freestyle (don’t get it!) pump and have to use it twice a day. A new pump will hopefully give me the push I need to stick with it!
I believe that bottle fed babies do just as well as breast fed babies; however, for many reasons breast feeding is a good choice.
Since my granddaughter is due this month, I love to win this and give it to her to encourage her in a breast feeding endeavor.
I love breastfeeding, love my little snuggle bum cozied up to me, and I love the time that I don’t have to share her with anyone, and she doesn’t have to share me with anyone. But lets be honest, I really would like to have a date night with my husband, maybe a night away! And my manual pump is not pumping me enough for that! Get me out of the house!
I was blessed to have 3 very positive nursing & pumping experiences. I’m a little sad that our baby days are over b/c it was so fulfilling to nourish my babies.
OK so here is my breast pump story. I am about 5 weeks away from baby number 2′s arrival. I breastfed baby number 1 for about 6 months before pumping at work became unbearable. I used a Medela pump. It worked really well, but pumping in the bathroom at work is AWEFUL. When my son was 1, my mother passed away from colon cancer and we moved about a month later (the move was not related to her death). Those few months after her death are a complete haze and somewhere in the packing I have lost my Medela pump. So now I am 5 weeks away from baby number 2 and pumpless, I have searched every unpacked box and it is nowhere to be found, HELP!
I am married, but have no children…yet. We will be having a couple soon, and are already planning on breastfeeding. It would be great to already have a breast pump on hand!

Great Post! I am successfully breastfeeding my son, however not successfully able to pump for when I wish to have a short break. You see I bought a lovely $200 Dr. Browns Pump that never worked! Spent another $35 on a manual that I hate! To make matters worse my son will not drink formula at all. So needless to say I am glad someone is getting somewhere in the life of pumping for baby:)
I am not expecting yet but I think the thing I am looking forward to the most is breastfeeding. I am a huge advocate and wish more women would try it. I also wish many more doctors were supporting of it.
i nursed both my boys for 6months, i never knew what an emotional and physical journey it would be for them and myself. i am glad and proud of what i accomplished and couldn’t have done it as long as i did without my loyal pump.
I am pregnant with child #3 who is due late November. I nursed both my girls but not as long as I wanted to. I’m hoping that with my 3rd child, a boy, it’ll be different this time around. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I loved breastfeeding my daughters. We developed such a close bond with each other. I also loved being able to feed them, whenever & whereever we were as soon as they were hungry.
