It wasn’t really my intention, walking away from my blog for so long. But I couldn’t help it, life was happening so quickly that I just couldn’t sit down to write about it. I just needed to live it.
The kids start school on Wednesday, we are living it up with summer foods, late night trips to Target, eating ice cream outside and tons of hugs and kisses. Although I’m so sad that they’ll be gone, I do believe it’s best for all of us.
I’m excited for the routine, I’m excited to give Elijah some Mom + Eli time.

I’m also hoping to get some “Beth” time. I need that.
This weekend we were in Michigan, Sara Joy had her Amazing! Beautiful! Miraculous! twins. I was honored to be able to do a newborn session with them. Meet Sara, Van and Maggie.

And then, 20 minutes away, my niece, Amber, had a baby this past Thursday and I was able to photograph him, too. Meet Dane, sweet, snuggly & sleepy.

I feel like the luckiest lady alive.
So, I’ll be back on Wednesday, I am unplugging and trying to be the best wife and Mommy possible, which is good because my house is a wreck, it took me 10 minutes to find my running shoes today. They were underneath laundry which was underneath the suitcase that was half emptied two days ago.
My intentions are to clean in my running shoes, not actually run. We’ll see if that actually happens.
(a part of me hopes it doesn’t.)

Love your photos!
I’ve been on a kick lately too, with living intentionally and soaking in the last few ounces of summer before the boy starts back this Wednesday. Great post, beautiful babies!
Beautiful photos!! How lucky, indeed! Enjoy your last bit of summer with the kids before school starts!
That’s never my intention, either, and I’m always sad it’s happening, but I think it is actually to be celebrated that we aren’t finding/making/taking the time some days to blog. I love to write, love to share with others, love to be part of this community, but YAY for loving my family and feeling swept up in THEM, as well. And YAY for you feeling the same way.
The picture of Sara Joy and her two sweet ones made me do that thing where you say “AWWWWWW” and it comes out as a warbling little sobby thing. She, and they, and that photo are just all so beautiful and perfect and I am so, so happy you got to go see them and her and take photos of them. What great, great things to know have happened in the world.
Enjoy your time off, my friend! Something tells me that you of all people will make the very most of it and that your family will be so blessed by your “extra” love and attention.
I’m glad your intention is only to clean in your running shoes. Actually, even that is making me feel bad, so please put them on, sit on your couch and eat ice cream.
Also, I’m glad you unplugged, whether intentional or not. It’s nice–and you ended up with some amazing photos in the process.
Beautiful pictures Beth! That Eli is adorable! He has the sweetest expressions! And he’s growing so fast. Take time and enjoy. Time is such a thief.
I hit submit, but my comments didn’t appear, so in case this is a duplicate, I apologize
Your photos are amazing! That Eli is so sweet, with the sweetest expressions! He’s growing up so darn fast. Take time to enjoy, that “time” deal is like a thief in the night!
Well, I think you’re the cutest little blogger I’ve ever seen! I just ran across your blog and I think it’s great. I’m new to the blogging world….so I’m gonna steal your button and put it on my blog for free…….then when I’m all famous and have like 2,000 view/day you can pay me to have it on there!
But seriously, I really enjoyed reading your blog…keep doing what you do!
What BEAUTIFUL photos!!!
My oldest starts Kindergarten on Wednesday and I’m really looking forward to some one on one time with my youngest!!
Have a great week!
Oh those pictures made my ovaries ache…
I hear what you mean about living life and the blog getting away. We took a surprise trip to St. Louis so my stepdad and mom could see the baby (him for the first time!) and then I’ve been trying to get Olivia into a routine (hah!) and trying to stay on top of the house and not neglect the hubby!
One of these days I’ll manage to fit me in there somewhere, too…
Oh the gorgeous-ness in all three of those photos! Wow.
I hope you get some Beth-time too.
So glad you posted such beautiful pics that takes me back to the newborn days. They pass too quickly!
Newborn time passes so fast…but you helped me remember. Love these pictures!
I hope you all have a wonderful last few days of freedom!
Your pictures are beautiful. I’m looking forward to the routine of school. I do so much better on a schedule. I get more done then too.
I bet those newborns made Elijah seem big all of a sudden.
Those photos are beautiful! And the twins are so tiny! When I see pictures like that, I get the I want a baby fever (just for a minute though).
I’d take new babies over blogging anyday. ANYDAY.
Oh, my kids started last week…..I find myself literally mourning the summer and the waterpark everyday. You struck a chord with me about the late night trips to Target…..the only thing that would be better is if there was a thunderstorm while you were there. Summer is such a special time of year. Others like Christmas…I’m a warm weather/hang out in my bathing suit kinda girl. And yes, my kids and I are way too tan!!!! NExt year we are doing hats religously.
Oh lucky indeed!! Simply perfect, the love of a momma and a newborn. The sweet innoncence of those newborn days!
Enjoy these last few days, oh it goes so fast! I get to experience my first day of school as a momma on monday! My baby will be a freshman in highschool!! (we’ve homeschooled up to this point!)
I’ll be a mess on monday, good thing it’s a 1/2 day.
Enjoy your Eli and momma time! (Love that tshirt!!)
And your Beth time, as long as you keep sharing newborn baby pictures!!
Those are such wonderful pictures. I hope you enjoy some Beth time. It is necessary for everyone to steal some time for the things they love.
I love Eli’s onesie! Where did you get it because I am a little obsessed with owls?
Great pictures. Enjoy your last days of summer.
Oh good golly my uterus just started to ache somethin’ major. All the baby love is just too much for it. I think I can smell their sweet baby heads from here. You ARE lucky. Thank you, thank you for sharing…
late night trips to target..i love how you described your summer days!
oooohhh, cleaning in running shoes! What a great idea! Let me know if they made you clean faster.
And I think, for the most part, your readers will be VERY understanding of your need to be a wife & mom before the blogging. We all get it.
Take care of YOU.
I love your post and I know it’s true. You’ve been going at warp speed for days (even more than you usually do
Of course your pictures are incredible. Could Eli be any cuter? That picture just melts my heart and makes me smile. The twins and Sara picture says so much about the comfort babies feel just being in Mom’s arms and the one of Dane is just plain incredible.
Beautiful post all around!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these pictures. I was just reminiscing about my 6 month old being so tiny. Why, oh why, do they have to grow up so fast??? Thank you for sharing your new family addition, Dane is so handsome!!!
Those sound like great intentions. Enjoy your Eli and Beth time!
I love your pictures and Eli is adorable!
Your photos are fabulous!
Even though my girls are still little and home with me, I can feel us unwinding, too…and honestly? I couldn’t be more ready for fall to arrive.
